In early 2012, we launched the People’s Lab crowdsourcing platform and approach to help our clients crowdsource insights and innovation. People’s Lab forms the core of our distinctive insights and foresight approach, which consists of four elements: organic conversation analysis, MSLGROUP’s own insight communities, client-specific insights communities, and ethnographic deep dives into these communities. This four-part approach helps us distill a deep understanding of societal values, consumption behaviors and attitudes towards brands, not only in terms of insights that help explain our world today, but also foresights that give us a glimpse of future worlds.

SCOTUS Launches New Economy with Legalized Sports BettingMSL
In a 6-3 decision in the case Murphy vs. National Collegiate Athletic Association, SCOTUS ruled that because Congress exceeded its constitutional authority when it passed PAPSA. In essence, Congress tried to prohibit state legislatures from repealing their existing statues that outlawed sports betting. Under a line of Supreme Court precedent known as the anti-commandeering doctrine, federal efforts to coerce states into enforcing federal law are unconstitutional violations of the Tenth Amendment.
To say this is just the beginning would be cliché, but what SCOTUS has wrought with its decision will have lasting consequences that go far beyond sports betting.
Our current consumption patterns are stretched to breaking point. Few would argue the need to fix our systems. It’s how to manage an economically viable and just transition that is making heads ache.

SDG Signals - SBTribe Research by Salterbaxter MSLMSL
It’s been two years since the launch of the SDGs and the UN’s recent progress report highlights that support is uneven and needs to accelerate. New data sources, including
social media, continue to be vital tools to measure, monitor and report progress.
SDG Signals uncovers new insights about SDG communications online and which areas, people and brands are cutting through. We explore the overall SDG online conversation, providing clear opportunities for differentiation, with initial comparisons from the Technology and Food & Beverage sectors. Future editions will put the spotlight on other specific sectors and issue areas.
A joint initiative conducted by MSL and SPARK Neuro gives PR pros true cause for excitement. What was once only subjective – how much people are engaged with content and their emotional experience with it – can now be directly quantified by reading brain activity and other neurological responses.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
2. Path
Path is a social networking app for mobile devices, downloaded from
App Store and Google Play. It is a 'smart journal' on which people share
their lives on the go with the 150 people closest to them.
Source: http://path.com , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfQ03VcOfuc
3. Capturing experiences
Path started off as a mere private photo-sharing service, but
expanded to include places, thoughts, music, sleep, etc, giving people
a place to share their experiences.

4. Limiting friends to 150
The developers felt social networkers crave intimate interactions with
small circles; most people stay in touch with only 20 to 30 people at a
time. It's akin to a private social network with people who matter.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/15/technology/15photo.html?_r=1
5. Connections are mutual
Unlike Twitter, where users can follow anybody, Path is more like
Facebook, allowing users to share stories with friends. Users can
add friends directly from their phone address books.
Source: http://peopleslab.mslgroup.com
6. Like Instagram & Facebook with fewer friends
With Path's initial focus on photo-sharing, it was compared to Instagram
and PicPlz. As Path allowed users to share everything, it was compared
to Facebook – more so with the latter's shift to Timeline and mobile.

7. Companion, not rival to social networks
Path is positioned as a companion to social networks. Users can post
photos and videos to their Facebook walls and add friends from there.
Updates can also be shared on Foursquare and Twitter.

options-150-friends , http://mashable.com/2011/03/11/path-facebook-sharing/
8. Anti social-network
While social networks constantly push users to expand their circles and
go more 'social', Path encourages users to form quality circles to share
stuff for a more personal and less 'social' experience.
Source: http://www.postadvertising.com/ , http://www.sfgate.com/
9. The personal journal
Experts said that while Path was like Facebook, its design was more
advanced and it afforded more intimacy and privacy. The strategy
worked – it was downloaded more than 1.5 million times in a year.

10. Rocked by privacy controversy
Downloads dropped when a developer from Singapore found that Path
was accessing information on users' phones. The CEO's apology
reiterated Path's views on privacy. This received a mixed response.
Source: http://mashable.com/2012/02/08/path-dave-morin-apology/ ,
http://mashable.com/2012/02/08/path-address-book-controversy/
11. Challenges
Critics lashed out at Path's 'short-term thinking'. Some of the challenges
cited were saturation of the social space, the trend of sharing more and
not less, and being typified as another Facebook with a small user base.
Source: http://techcrunch.com , http://mashable.com/2010/11/15/path-launches/
12. Revenue stream
Creating a scalable revenue stream was a challenge. Path introduced
'Lenses' for 99 cents and partnered with Nike to build Nike+ GPS for
revenue. Potentially, the social 'inner circle' could be worth a lot.

13. Mobile: A clear vision for the future
Recognising that mobile devices are the future, Path encouraged
frictionless sharing via mobile. Facebook did the same with Timeline. All
social apps are going mobile, making networking more convenient.
