2. Slavery Slavery have been a part of every empire up until the 19th century. The relationship between slaves and slave owners was different than that of slaves in America. In the roman world slaves could even occupy positions of high responsibility and stature.
3. The Change Slavery changed in 1444 when the first ship of Africans were brought to Portugal and sold off At this point slave trade changed dramatically as there was a huge increase in demand for slaves. Between 1492 and 1820 five times as many Africans went to America than did white Europeans.
4. The end There were many “justifications” for why slavery should be allowed, yet they all were ignorant and had no real ground. Eventually slave trade had effectively ended by the end of 1870 Society as a whole had advanced into realizing that slaves were just as human as anyone else and could suffer just like them.
