Penile injection therapy involves injecting medication into the penis to induce erection. Common medications include Trimix, Bimix, and prostaglandin, which work by stimulating blood flow and relaxing penile muscles. The injection takes 5-10 minutes to induce an erection lasting 30-60 minutes. This treatment is effective even with nerve damage. To perform the injection, one must prepare the medication and penis before delivering the injection. There is a risk of prolonged erection (priapism) which can damage the penis if lasting over 4 hours, so one should not exceed the prescribed dose or combine with other ED medications. Deep Vein Thrombosis

Treatment focuses on sun protection, immunosuppressants like hydroxychloroquine and methotrexate, and corticosteroids. Lifestyle measures like diet, activity and sun avoidance are also important.

Occupational health for women workers is an important issue. Women face numerous risks to their health from work including fatigue, malnutrition, stress, and exposure to hazards. Jobs like domestic work, agriculture, and textiles expose women to accidents, burns, backaches, chemicals, and dusts that can impact their health. Pregnant women face additional risks as their bodies undergo changes that can be affected by workplace exposures like increased chemical uptake. Laws and protections aim to support women workers, such as maternity leave and benefits, limits on night work and heavy lifting, and requirements for crèches and prohibiting dangerous work. Ensuring safe working conditions, especially for pregnant women, is crucial to prevent occupational hazards that disproportionately impact women
Congenital hydronephrosis
Congenital hydronephrosis is a condition where babies are born with a buildup of urine in their kidneys. It can be caused by a blockage in the urinary tract, abnormal backflow of urine from the bladder, or abnormal kidney development. There are three main categories: vesicoureteral reflux where urine backs up in the ureter, blockages in four possible areas of the urinary tract, and idiopathic hydronephrosis with no obvious cause. Treatment depends on severity and may include close observation, antibiotics, surgery to repair blockages, or prenatal surgery to drain the bladder.
Prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is a carcinoma of the prostate gland that may spread to other parts of the body like bones and lymph nodes. It begins as small clumps of cancerous cells within the prostate that multiply and spread over time. Risk factors include age, family history, obesity, lower vitamin D levels, and elevated testosterone. Symptoms can include issues with urination or pain. Imaging tests like CT, MRI, ultrasound, and bone scans are used to detect prostate cancer and check for metastasis. A prostate biopsy removes tissue samples to examine for cancer cells under a microscope in order to determine diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Urogenital echinococcosis
1. Genitourinary echinococcosis is caused by the larval stage of the Echinococcus tapeworm and most commonly involves the kidneys. It presents with nonspecific symptoms like flank pain, abdominal masses, or hematuria.
2. Renal echinococcosis accounts for 2-3% of cases and usually presents in young adults. Surgical treatment depends on factors like renal involvement and function. Laparoscopic surgery has advantages over open surgery.
3. Bladder involvement is rare but can mimic other pelvic masses. Complete excision of the cyst contents without spillage is the goal of treatment, which can be done laparoscopically or transvaginally.
Staghorn stones
Staghorn stones are large, branched kidney stones that fill the renal pelvis and extend into multiple kidney calices. They are usually composed of struvite or calcium salts and are associated with urinary tract infections. Left untreated, they can cause renal failure. Treatment involves completely removing the stones, usually through percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) which has high stone-free rates of 70-93% as a single procedure. Other options include shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) and ureteroscopy, often in combination with PCNL. The goal is always complete stone clearance to prevent complications.
Renal Cell Carcinoma Treatment
Renal cell carcinoma can be treated through several surgical and non-surgical methods. Surgical treatments include partial or radical nephrectomy to remove part or all of the kidney. Non-surgical treatments include biologic response modifiers like interleukin-2 and interferons, molecular targeted therapies using drugs like sunitinib, bevacizumab, and pazopanib, and chemotherapy with drugs like floxuridine and carboplatin. Radiation therapy can be used for palliation of pain from metastatic lesions, while renal artery embolization controls symptoms for inoperable patients.
Male hypogonadism
Male hypogonadism is a condition where the body does not produce enough of the male sex hormone testosterone. There are two types: primary, where the problem originates in the testicles, and secondary, where it is caused by issues with the hypothalamus or pituitary gland in the brain. Untreated hypogonadism can lead to complications like abnormal genitalia, infertility, erectile dysfunction, and osteoporosis. Diagnosis involves hormone testing, semen analysis, and imaging, while treatment is testosterone replacement therapy.
Disturbances of the nervous system in pathology of the endocrine system

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune Disease
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

Penile injection therapy
- 1. Penile Injection Therapy BY : IBRAHIM KEWAN GROUP : M1751
- 2. Penile Injection • Penile injections, or Intracavernosal Injections (ICI), is a treatment for erectile dysfunction that involves injecting a small amount of medication into the erectile tube in the penis • Common ICI medications include: Trimix, Bimix, Prostaglandin • After the injection, an erection is created within 5-10 minutes, and ideally lasts for 30-60 minutes • This treatment does not rely on nerve function, so it is effective even if your nerves are damaged from prostate cancer treatment • Requires teaching by our sexual health clinicians
- 3. How It Works? • The medication injected works by stimulating penile blood flow and relaxing the penile muscle, resulting in an erection. • The effect is localized to the penis, so it will not cause effects on the rest of your body
- 4. How To Perform An Injection • Ensure that you have all of your supplies before you begin: • Injection medication (stored in fridge) • Needles • Alcohol swabs • Sharps disposal container • Injection information package including dosing chart • Sudafed pills in case of prolonged erection • *Note using a flat surface such as night table or bathroom counter may be helpful.
- 5. How To Perform An Injection • Break the process into 3 steps: 1. Prepare the medication 2. Prepare your penis to receive the injection 3. Deliver the injection.
- 6. Priapism • Priapism is an erection that lasts too long • There is a small risk of having priapism for 4 hours or more after penile injection therapy • Priapism may result in damage to the penile muscle through lack of oxygen. • To prevent priapism: • Do not take more medication than the dose prescribed • Do not combine with any other erectile dysfunction medication (ie. PDE5-i's such as Viagra, Cialis or Levitraj • You can inject up to 3x a week, but no more than once in 24 hours
- 7. Priapism • If you develop Priapism: • After 1 hour — attempt climax, gentle physical activity, cold shower • After 2 hours- take 4 (30mg) tabs of Sudafed • After 3 hours- proceed to local emergency department • An erection lasting 4. hours is a medical emergency, and may result in penile muscle damage and future risk of erectile dysfunction
