Here is a picture of the stars that make Pegasus. In Greek mythology Pegasus is a horse with wings. He is the son of Poseidon. Poseidon was a horse god. Pegasus has a brother named Chrysaor. There are more two versions of how Pegasus and his brother were born. I will tell you of only two of the stories. He is a northern constellation. Also Pegasus is visible from August through December.
Here is a map of where Pegasus is in the sky.(or at least an idea)
First version One version goes like is this: Pegasus is the winged horse that was fathered by Poseidon with Medusa, when her head was cut off by the Greek hero Perseus, the horses sprang forth from her pregnant body. His galloping created the well Hippocrene on the Helicon (a mountain in Boeotia). When the horse was drinking from the well Pirene on the Acroctinth, Bellerophon’s fortress, the Corinthian hero was able to capture the horse by using a golden bridle, a gift from Athena. The gods then gave him Pegasus for killing the monster Chimera but when he attempted to mount the horse it threw him off and rose to the heavens, where it became a constellation.
Second Version The second version goes like this: Another says that they were born of the Earth as Medusa's blood spilled onto it, in which case Poseidon would not be their sire. A variation on this story holds that they were formed from the mingling of Medusa's blood and the sea foam, thus including Poseidon in their making.
Either way Bellerophon caught and tamed Pegasus, and presented him to the Muses at Mount Parnassus. After he became the horse of the Muses, he was at the service of the poets.
Here is the best picture I could find of it in the sky
I got this from these websites http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegasus http://www.pantheon.org/articles/p/pegasus.html http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/constellations/pegasus.html Basically I just googled Pegasus.
