The constellation Ursa Major, also known as the Great Bear, is one of the most easily recognizable constellations in the northern hemisphere. Cassiopeia was the vain and boastful wife of King Cepheus of Ethiopia, and they are depicted as the only husband-and-wife couple among the constellations. The name Ursa Major likely derives from the Greek word "arctos" meaning bear, which was used to point to the northern regions.
