Indian peacocks are large, colorful birds found in India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. They live in forests and wooded areas. Male peacocks have extravagant tail feathers up to 5 feet wide used to attract mates. Peacocks eat insects, plants, small creatures, worms, nuts and seeds. Females lay 3-5 eggs that hatch after 28 days. Baby peacocks are called peachicks and remain with their parents until adulthood. Peacocks have several predators and communicate mainly by showing their feathers.
