3. What Peace means?
• PEACE has many meanings to many
people. If you ask what is peace, in
this internet era, everyone
immediately search in Google and
get 1,50,00,00,000 results in 0.52
seconds! It’s bewildering to arrive
at a simple meaning for peace!
• But we rarely use our intelligence,
given by the Supreme Personality
of Godhead, to look into sacred
scriptures through a Spiritual
Master, to find the real meaning of
PEACE and how to attain our inner
peace.

4. Who works for peace?
• Let’s not always think that the world is fostered by
hatred and violence while there are many
organizations work to promote peace on local,
national and international levels.

• 1.United Nations Organization (UNO): It is not only work for
peace building but for conflict prevention and peace
enforcement.
• 2.International Peace Bureau (IPB): It is the oldest global
peace network, founded in 1891 - ’92, functioning in over 70
countries with more than 300 organizations.

• 3. Human Rights Watch: Human Rights Watch is an
international non-governmental organization,
headquartered in New York City, that conducts research
and advocacy on human rights.
• 4.United Religions Initiative (URI): The United Religions
Initiative is a global grassroots interfaith network that
cultivates peace and justice by engaging people to bridge
religious and cultural differences and work together for
the good of their communities and the world.

• 5.World Peace Prayer Society: The World Peace Prayer Society
is a non-sectarian pacifist organization. Its motto is "May
Peace Prevail on Earth". WPPS was founded in 1955 by
Masahisa Goi in Japan. The organization is commonly known
through its Peace Pole Project.
• 6.Global Peace Foundation: The Global Peace Foundation is an
international nonprofit organization with a stated mission to
promote “an innovative, values-based approach to peace
building, guided by the vision of One Family under God.

• And many more…..for promoting peace for the
wellbeing of mankind. In spite of all these
efforts taken worldwide, why are mankind’s
problems increasing despite rapid growth of
science and technology?
• Why people are always anxiety ridden,
frustrated and very disturbed?
• Why more people are forced to take sleeping
pills in order to sleep?
• Why people are so terrified , they have to
screen their guests through a lens on their door
and CCTV cameras?
• What is missing in our society? Why PEACE is
missing everywhere and we are attempting to
find with small and big efforts?

• We cannot blame the
government, politicians,
bureaucrats, police
officials, judiciary etc. for
the problem that the
world faces today.
• We are INTERNALLY
DISTURBED. So we create
disturbance for others.

11. The Solution is Mind Control
• We have to evaluate the nature of
our mind to understand ‘The Art of
Mind Control”.
• Identity crisis is the biggest problem
for us.
• Who am I? Am I this body, mind,
intelligence or the head or the nose?
• Know who you are before you know
your mind.
• We are not these bodies; we are pure
spiritual souls (Atma). The existence is
not based on the blind faith of a
group of religious followers.

• Vedic scriptures explain that the soul is constitutionally a
resident of an eternal realm, the spiritual world.
• It is explained in Upanishads that every soul is endowed
with a minute independence either to
choose to love and serve God, and
struggle for the so-called illusory
enjoyment in this material world.
• We would always like to choose the later one!

• Bhagavad Gita (B.G) 3.42: “The working senses are superior
to dull matter, mind is higher than the senses; intelligence is
still higher than the mind; and he (the soul) is even higher
than the intelligence.”
• B.G 6.34 : “ The mind is restless,
turbulent, obstinate and very strong,
O Krishna, and to subdue it,
I think it is more difficult than controlling
the wind.”
• The mind is not satiated no matter how many of its desires
you try to fulfill.

• B.G.6.6: “ For him who has conquered the mind, the
mind is the best of friends; but for one who has
failed to do so, his very mind will be the greatest
enemy.”
• The mind can be compared to a sharpened knife. The
miscreant uses to cause violence, but the surgeon
uses to save a life.

• B.G.2 – 62-63 : Lord Krishna says,” While contemplating
the objects of the senses, a person develops attachment
for them, and from such attachment lust develops, and
from lust anger arises. From anger
complete delusion arises, and
from delusion bewilderment of
memory. When memory is bewildered,
intelligence is lost one falls down
again into the material pool.”
