Mind
 Nature
 How to control it
Chapter 6, Verse 34
The mind is very restless, turbulent, strong
and obstinate, O Krishna. It appears to me that
it is more difficult to control than the wind.
“For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the
best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his
mind will remain the greatest enemy.”
A uncontrolled mind :-
 Anxiety
 Depression
 Stress
 Low productivity
 Clouded memory
 Low immunity
 Poor decision making
 And many more……
How to control mind ?
Here are some methods mentioned in Bhagvad Gita
 Meditation – it is most famous way of controlling mind and hundreds of
meditation techniques are available for different age groups.
 Detachment – a detached mind eradicates the unnecessary wanderings of
the mind.
 Discipline – forming new habits and following them despite of mood helps
to control mind.
 Exercise – exercise helps to drain excess energy and forms new neural
connection.
 Living with nature – helps to understand the very nature of our existence.
Soul
What is soul ?
The Bhagvad Gita plainly states that soul is living
entity that is able to have experiences of reality
around it.
The soul is spread all over the body as
consciousness. This spreading of consciousness Is
limited within one’s body.
For the soul, there is neither birth nor death at any
time.
Gita’s teachings
• Birth and death are part of a soul’s journey, no one can
escape this cycle so, we should not immerse ourself
with grief of lost of loved one.
• If one recognize himself as soul not body he/she will be
free from the humanly emotions like anger, sorrow,
sadness, attachment etc. and will life in total
exuberance and blissfulness.
Getting connected to soul
• Meditation is the best
way to connect yourself
with
soul/consciousness.
• Gratitude practice
• Know about existence
of our very true nature
Yog
it means union in
Vedic scripts
According to Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita, Karma
yoga is the spiritual practice of "selfless action
performed for the benefit of others".
It is rightful action without being attached to fruits or
being manipulated by what the results might be, a
dedication to one's duty, and trying one's best while
being neutral to rewards or outcomes such as
success or failure.
The path of knowledge is intended for
those who prefer philosophical reflection
and it requires study and meditation.
Is a spiritual path or spiritual
practice within Hinduism focused on loving
devotion towards any personal deity.
It is ideally suited for people who are more
emotional.
These yog’s main aim is provide salvation/moksha to
seeker according to its own personality type and will.
There are several other types of yog which were
introduced later to people by other saints/spiritual
leaders:
• Raja yoga
• Kundalini yoga
• Sannyasa yoga
• Hatha yoga
My favourite teachings from Bhagvad
Gita :-
 We should do our ‘KARMA’ without worrying about the
results.
 Mediation is the key to inner peace.
 Change is the law of nature.
 Lust, anger, and greed are self-destructive elements.
 Man is made by his belief; he becomes what he
believes.
 Take responsibility.
