PDHPE is one of the six key learning areas for primary school students and is as important as subjects like English and Math for a child's wellbeing and development. The school aims to produce healthy, well-balanced, and happy students who are well-learned across all subjects. Health is defined by the WHO as a combination of physical, mental, and social well-being. Children need a minimum of 60 minutes per day of physical activity outside of school to maintain health, though currently only 1 in 4 children meet this recommendation. Lack of physical activity has been identified as the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality, showing the importance of healthy lifestyles in childhood.
