An Overview On The Investment Services Industry
Industry Information and Overview:
The investment services industry is one of the fastest paced and rapidly evolving sectors of the
economy. The industry is highly dependent on the state of the economy and is highly cyclical. In 2000
when established firms in the industry began to tap the potential of the Internet, trading volumes
crashed in what is now termed the Dot Com bubble. In 2002 when it seemed that innovative
technology and telecommunications companies would continuously improve business productivity,
the technology and telecom sectors crashed. More recently, just when the industry thought it figured
out how to rig the mortgage market to secure record profits with little to no risk, the entire mortgage
market crashed and created a liquidity crisis and a recession that would be later described as the Great
Recession. Investment services firms have learned time and time again that they still must contend
with an inevitable cycle of boom and bust.
The primary functions of an Investment Bank:
Raising Capital and Security Underwriting: One function of an Investment Bank is to package and
issue securities for sale to clients, companies or the general public. An investment bank would for
example facilitate the sale of shares of a previously private company that would like to go public and
offer those shares for sale to investors on an open market. The investment bank would determine the
value of the security and the underlying risk of the asset in order to sell it at an

Fish Survival Rate ( % ) Is Correlated With The Crop Duration
Shrimp survival rate (%) is correlated with the crop duration in 2012 (p = 0.0006, r = 0.75) and in
2013 (p = 0.0031, r = 0.71). Shrimp yield (kg/ha/crop) was correlated with the crop duration in 2012
(p = 0.0028, r = 0.68) and in 2013 (p = 0.0016, r = 0.74). The crop duration is negatively correlated
with average culture period water temperature, while it is positively correlated with CV of hourly
water temperature, and with the count of hours fall in the following temperature zones: out of best, out
of optimum, and tolerated temperature (Table 4). Of course, when the crop duration is longer, either
early stocking or late harvesting, it is extended to cooler days which will lower the average water
temperature and increase the temperature variation, and increase the count of undesirable
temperatures.
Aeration rate was inversely correlated with daily shrimp production (kg/ha/d) (p = 0.0432, r = 0.36)
and positively correlated with FCR (p = 0.0452, r = 0.36); While it was not correlated with all other
shrimp production parameters and water temperature parameters (P 0.05). It is obvious that higher
aeration rates are needed when dissolved oxygen levels decrease. This decrease is inversely affecting
shrimp growth, survival and production, and is increasing the FCR. The correlations of all shrimp
performance and water temperature parameters with pond surface area to volume ratio were not
significant (P 0.05) which agrees with what was observed by Prapaiwong and Boyd (2012b)

Music, Pop, By Mehgan Perine
From classical music, to pop, to a few selections of musical theatre music, Mehgan Perine surely
delivered an outstanding performance at her senior recital. On Monday May 16, many of Mehgan s
beloved family members, peers, and friends all came out to support her at the Covina Center of the
Performing Arts to watch her perfectly roll out a beautiful recital. A senior recital that included many
types of music genres, and even an Italian aria. Perine is only eighteen years old and she was the only
student at the School of Arts and Enterprise to be selected to perform a senior recital. Her talent,
grades, and personality got her to where she is today. Perine did bring an amazing overall performance
to the stage by tying in everything in her vocal talents with posture and breathing, diction, tone and
registration, and performance etiquette. During the performance Perine sang a total of 12 solo songs
and a duet. During the entirety of the show Perine showed excellence in her posture and breathing.
She stood in a all black dress for the entire show. She was never slouching her shoulders, her knees
were never locked, and she stood tall and confident. At moments, the audience could not comment on
her posture because she would walk around the stage to give the show a more alive feeling. Her
breathing was excellent also. Throughout most of the show many were impressed that she did not
breath a lot from her chest. The audience, could more than likely tell that she was breathing

Similarities Between Krasner And Naim
The standard of the popular sovereignty implies, that the authority of a state is to govern itself or
another state. When thinking upon our current international political system we can see that it has
currently seen better days. According to Stephen Krasner and Moises Naim we can safely presume
that many actions need to be taken and a sense of Shared Sovereignty needs to be installed. This
would not only allow for the greater protection of certain states, but would also account for the
interaction of states on an allied level in order to crack down on the Five Wars of Globalization. With
the influx of a shared sovereignty according to Krasner and Naim it would create stronger borders and
allow for alliances with unlikely states. According to Stephen Krasner and his shared sovereignty
mentality it can be noted that many of the sovereignty rules do not apply due to, no truly autonomous,
internationally recognized well governed states. Stated in the article he points out three ... Show more

From discussion I have picked up many instance in which a shared sovereignty as described by
Krasner and Naim, would be worth a lot in current contemporary international politics. That being
said I feel as though the main issue that may arise in which would take top priority is currently our
nuclear situation. With the addition of a nuclear arms race according to the New York Times, it states
that we could potentially be reviving the Cold War. Having the knowledge that there could be WMD s
(weapons of mass destruction) currently underground near my home brings a sense of no security.
This feeling is derived from the current presidential debate. We have feuded the entire time and the
outlook is not shiny and nice; the silver lining is turning out to be rusted aluminum. We are attempting
to increase and update our international political views and policies, however everything takes

Montana 1948 By Larry Watson
That night the jars began to break (151). The novel Montana 1948, written by Larry Watson is a book
about family and tragedy. The Hayden name is popular in Bentrock. David Hayden is a young boy
who was taken for an adventure one summer when his sheriff of a dad, Wes, was informed of his
brother sexually assaulting his patients. Family is important, but morals are what drive your actions.
Instead of putting Frank in a jail cell that was across the street from the house Wes decided to put him
in the basement. It was a moral struggle to keep Frank in the basement. The Hayden name is popular
in the city of Bentrock. People will do drastic things in order to keep the good reputation that comes
with their name. Keeping Frank in the basement was a testament to Wes s morals. Constant pressure
from Wes s father, Julian, created a rift in Wes s emotions. My God. My God, boy. Stop this now. Stop
this before I have to (122), Julian demanded to his son. Julian pleaded for him to stop the nonsense
and to let Frank go. During hard times, family can create emotions that cause people to act out of
moral character. Wes was pressured by his father to let his brother go and to stop the legal action
against him. Going against his fathers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You don t think I wish it could be some other way? (150). Wes is full of emotions during the whole
process. Shock is a big characteristic that comes when one discovers startling news. Memories started
to flood Wes s head as he investigated more and more of the situation. He s my brother we grew up
together, sucked the same tit! (150) Wes exclaimed as pressure mounted. Even though memories were
filling Wes s head and the fact that it is indeed his brother that he is investigating he knows that he has
to keep going. The fact that Frank is his brother is not enough for Wes to abandon his moral feeling
and leave the situation

Natural Law Theory Vs Utilitarianism
In this paper, I will argue that a combination of Natural Law Theory and Utilitarianism best captures
what should be required in terms of respecting natural rights.
One of the benefits of Utilitarianism is that it looks at what we ought to do, not must do, while
keeping in mind the consequences of our actions. On the negative side, all consequences, short term
and long term, must be considered, often making it very difficult to make the ultimately correct
decision, since seeing the future is not a human attribute. Who is to determine what is best? The easy
answer is the majority, but this could result in the tyranny of the majority. One of Natural Law Theory
s benefits is that it uses reason to determine social and personal human nature to ... Show more content

Since Utilitarianism is mainly about what ought to be done, when what ought to be done is decided by
the majority, and goes against what the minority believes to be right, the tyranny of the majority is
pushed onto the minority. As an example, prior to the 1980 s it was common to smoke in public, at
work, and in restaurants. American society s norms changed, and smoking was no longer approved of
by the majority. The result was that millions of smokers, unable or unwilling to quit, were forced to
give up their freedom of smoking. While argument that smoking is unhealthy is valid, smoking was
acceptable for over 200 years in America. This also happened with alcohol, with the 18th Amendment
banning it in 1920, and Marijuana being outlawed in 1937.
While on the surface the argument that Natural Rights Theory could lead to anarchy sounds plausible,
and Bentham and Burke may have had cause to state so, eventually the turmoil that may at first seem
to be anarchy, eventually does settle down as social contracts are developed, and governments created.
The American Revolution may have seemed like anarchy at the time, but it did develop into a
constitutional republic that is now 240 years old. While France also went through some anarchical
times in the 1790 s, and did revert to a monarchy for a time, France is still around

Social Injustice in Roundhouse
Lives for Native Americans on reservations have never quite been easy. There are many struggles that
most outsiders are completely oblivious about. In her book The Roundhouse, Louise Erdrich brings
those problems to light. She gives her readers a feel of what it is like to be Native American by
illustrating the struggles through the life of Joe, a 13 year old Native American boy living on a North
Dakota reservation. This book explores an avenue of advocacy against social injustices. The most
observable plight Joe suffers is figuring out how to deal with the injustice acted against his mother,
which has caused strife within his entire family and within ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

We try to press against the boundaries of what we are allowed, walk a step past the edge. Our records
will be scrutinized by Congress one day and decisions on whether to enlarge our jurisdiction will be

though it may seem small, or trivial, or boring, to you (Erdrich 229 230).
Because he is too young to fully understand all the factors of the situation, Joe teeters between taking
the law into his own hands and trusting his father to achieve justice through diligence. Inevitably, Joe
plots to take his own actions against the attacker. He and his friends conspire to find the attacker. They
undermine Bazil s attempt for restorative, long term justice when they confront the attacker and shoot
him.
In addition to the issues within the family, the crime committed against mother has cause inner turmoil
for Joe. He is faced with the feelings of obligation to avenge his mother. He sees her sheltering herself
every day in her bedroom, slowly becoming just a shell of the woman she used to be. The damned
carcass had stolen from her. Some warm part of her was gone and might not return. This new

Paper Proposal
Eman Haggagi
Philosophy 101
Paper Proposal Islam does not promote violence and terrorism I believe that there have been many
misconceptions of Islam that are portrayed and plastered all over the news, media and even billboard
for years now. Millions of Muslims living in the western world have found themselves under a lot of
inspection by their societies. Charles Peirce a philosopher who is known for his methods for fixing
belief proves a good point and idea in order for people to be more considerable of their thoughts and
beliefs to reason correctly before judging the Islamic religion to be promoting violence. People instead
of judging all people in Islam and any religion, should be thinking more maturely as to who is the evil
doer, instead of taking their anger out on innocent people and the wellbeing in society to keep a unity
in the world. However, another famous philosopher whom I disagree with who argues Peirce s
methods of belief is David Hume. Hume believes that of which to avoid all problems, all religious
belief should be rid of. The question whether Islam promotes violence and terrorism is a question that
I believe is an answer many people don t understand the answer to and lack the knowledge of their
own to make the distinction. In Philosophy the study of Epistemology uses logic to structure an
argument and types of evidence you can use to support certain conclusions. What constitutes people s
knowledge in Islam? This helps support the argument as to

Voltaire And Conflict Essay
In answering the question, How could the ideas of the enlightenment lead to conflict? I wanted to
show that Voltaire believed that the enlightenment was the time where religious superstitions and
ignorance was to be replaced with rational thinking, and tolerance. Voltaire was well known for
believing religious tolerance and that is his legacy but also his main source of conflict with the
Catholic church. My best piece of evidence that highlights his conflicts with the church is that, he
developed a writing called, Lettres philosophiques, which focused quite a bit on intolerance and
superstition which was publicly burned and banned, because it was considered a strike against the
Catholic Church, (Voltaire, Stanford). I chose to use this piece ... Show more content on

Another reason why this evidence is relevant to the claim I made is, because it shows how Voltaire
really did have conflict with the catholic church, because where he disproved of their ideas and voiced
it, the church also disapproved of his ideas and made that just as clear by burning his writing. I
received this piece of evidence from the Stanford encyclopedia of philosophy, which I found was a
credible source, because it is in fact an educational website, that was incredibly well written, and went
into great detail about all the different aspects of Voltaire s life. The source was valuable, because it s
purpose was educational, and written for students, it was rich and detailed in content, it was overall
very factual and useful. Although a limitation to this source is that it is a secondary source so I do have
to question its liability, because the writers where not there when Voltaire s writings where publicly
burned, but although this is a secondary source it s facts are consistent with the other sources I used,
so that does make it more

Fishing Research Papers
Fishing is a worldwide sport loved by millions of people and the heart of many towns and
communities around the world. One of only a few outdoor activities that are open year long and one
can go whenever he or she pleases. Fishing takes skill, patience and luck. Some people are known for
their luck of fishing and others for their skill. Over time, people become known for what they are good
at, and what they are bad at, this applies to fishing too. Everyone thinks of himself as that guy, no
matter what, there is always a way to classify every fisherman, from Die Hards , Know It Alls , Lucky
Guy , Unlucky Guy , the Snag Master or the Rage Monster.
Everyone s goal is to catch the biggest fish, but some people want it to happen while others make it
happen. The guys who make it happen are known as the Die Hards. These guys go out when everyone
is inside, no matter the weather, and no matter the cost, they ll risk their boat for a fish. They study and
analyze the fish s every move, knowing when they spawn, how the water temperature affects them,
and what time of day is the best to go out. These guys are the real deal, they know everything about
fishing. For example, Aaron Meyer is a musky guide in northern MN who guides five to six days a

Becoming A Good Writer
To me, the best writing is when you can t put the book down and want to keep reading more and more.
It is when you can make a personal connection to whatever the characters are going through in their
life. To make a good piece of writing you have to have many things, but most importantly you should
have good vocabulary, punctuation, and sentence fluency so that it is easy to follow.
I know that writing will always be an important thing in my life. I m taking Foundations of Writing to
prepare myself for college and to learn how to become a better writer. I will use what I learned in this
class while I am writing college papers or even for a future job.
When I am given an assignment, the first thing I do is think about how I am going to write it. Then I
begin writing down my thoughts until I can t think of anything else to add. When I have no new ideas
I start to get bored and then I begin to procrastinate. Procrastinating is one of my biggest weaknesses.
I always wait until just a few days before the paper is due to really start working on it hard. Another
weakness of mine is that it s hard for me to put my thoughts into words and sentences that make sense.
Something I have never understood are semicolons. I don t know when I should use them and when I
should not. I would say that my biggest strengths are that I always write in complete sentences and use
good vocabulary. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Impact Of Religion And Spirituality On Psychological...
A Hope that Restores: The Impact of Religion and Spirituality on Psychological Distress Those who
plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as
they return with the harvest (Matthew) . Everyone in life goes through a tribulation of some variety,
including those who believe in a superior being. A common term for these people, that is, people who
carry said belief, is religious, referring to a person who is devoted to the applications of a church or
other institution, perhaps a synagogue. Although the two compliment each other, religion is not to be
confused with spirituality. While religion focuses on involvement in a religious program, such as a
church, spirituality is often thought to be a reserved and private experience, in which the partaker
places meanings with events that are close to them as an individual. Religious and spiritual people
alike have been studied over recent years in order to clarify theories which claim that coping with
trauma in a religious manner has an effect on the outcome pertaining to how well the person copes.
First of all, the matter of who is affected by trauma should be addressed. As previously stated,
everyone experiences such ordeals at one occasion or another in their lifetime. However, people of
greater extents of unique backgrounds, such as poverty or specific types of ethnicity, tend to be more
prone to distress and the consequences resulting from. Also, while consequences

I Am An Old Soul
The directions to this statement of purpose indicate that it s an opportunity to introduce myself in a
way that my transcripts might not fully do. Think of me as a classic example of a 19 year old
American young man. After my parents divorced in 2000, I learned to be very versatile and
independent. My family consists of two brothers, two sisters, my Mom / Stepfather, and my Dad /
Stepmother. Surrounding me is two blended families that consistently show great support for me. As
for hobbies, I have numerous ones. I enjoy hunting, fishing, strumming my guitar, playing all types of
sports, but, mainly I can always be found with a football in my hand, or nearby. My values are
conservative and I have a strong faith in God. The friends I have are a diverse mix of people from all
races, religions, and walks of life. One thing that might interest people about me is that I am an old
soul. Classic country
(Johnny Cash in particular) is one of my favorite genres although I love all music. Essentially, I think
of myself as an enthusiastic guy that is just happy to be alive. I have had a couple of intense accidents
that might be considered brushes with death and I feel very blessed to still be here.
Quite honestly, I never thought I would be writing an essay with the hopes of being accepted to Texas

Consequences Of Underage Drinking
Underage drinking has been a growing concern among the public. As society idolizes the party life
style, adolescence seem to be more encouraged to join the movement. Because the youth of todays
generations are not aware of the responsibilities that come along with drinking, they are ignorant to
the fact that there are ramification that come along with underage drinking. Though there are factors
that play along with the juvenile party trend, as a community, we must come together and be aware of
the poor results these actions can cause. Underage drinking has become an outrage; its use among
teenagers has consequences such as brain damage, addictiveness, and safety risks. Teenagers can tend
to view alcohol as a conversation starter, helping them loosen up around people; but it can cause harsh
brain damage. In spite the reality that alcohol can affect several parts of the brain while drinking

In this paper, I have discussed the Flexible and Dynamic forms of Internetworking by focusing on
history of internetworking along with LAN s Routers, Hubs, switches with its
networking/internetworking functions and summarizing the general nature of addressing schemes
within the context of Internetworking and its naming and communications.
INTRODUCTION
An internetwork is a collection of individual networks, connected by intermediate ... Show more

Today, high speed LANs and switched internetworks are becoming widely used, largely because they
operate at very high speeds and support such high bandwidth applications as voice and video
conferencing.
Internetworking evolved as a solution to three key problems: isolated LANs, duplication of resources,
and a lack of network management. Isolated LANS made electronic communication between different
offices or departments impossible. Duplication of resources meant that the same hardware and
software had to be supplied to each office or department, as did a separate support staff. This lack of
network management meant that no centralized method of managing and troubleshooting networks
existed (Universitat Koblenz Landau).
LEVELS INVOLVED IN BUILDING INTERNET
LOWEST LEVEL: ETHERNET SEGMENT
Ethernet segment consists of a collection of hosts connected by wires (twisted pairs) to a
Hub. It normally spans a room or floor in a building.
Its typical operations include,
Each Ethernet adapter has a unique 48 ¬‐bit address (MAC address).
Hosts send bits to any other host in chunks called Frames.
Now hub copies each bit from each port to every other port. Fig 2: Ethernet Segment (Carnegie
Mellon University)
NEXT LEVEL: BRIDGED ETHERNET SEGMENT
The oldest type of internetworking device is called a bridge. Normally, a bridge is

What Is The Theme In Psalm 23
The heart is the greatest weapon any warrior holds because when it is connected to God it makes one
undefeatable. David, who had a heart for God, would create some of the most beautiful symbolic
themes in his psalms by combining his faith and love of the Lord with everyday settings that he was
familiar with during his time. The symbolic theme of Psalm 23 identifies David as both a shepherd
and sheep by creating a peaceful mood through the tranquil settings.
Theme
Although this psalm is often recited at funerals or solemn occasions, the original theme that David
established in Psalm 23 is faith and assurance in the Lord. This is determined by the very first line of
this poem David allows the reader to see himself as a servant of the Lord and not the great King of
Israel, The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing (Psalm 23:1 NIV). As David continues Psalm 23 , he
starts building on the assurance of putting his full trust into God. The use of the words made and lead
explains that he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His metaphorical use of saying that the Lord is a shepherd, while considering himself a sheep is very
ironic because he is combining his past life experience with the theme and settings of this psalm.
David describes the detailed work a shepherd must do to provide security and disciple his flock by
saying the Lord s rod and staff comfort me (Psalm 23:4 NIV). As a shepherd David understood the
importance of finding his lost sheep, because without the protection of their shepherd they would have
to face the world alone. David carefully reflects this into the mood of Psalm 23 , so the reader can gain
an understanding of how God will not let His sheep stray too far. David allows the reader to gain a
true sense of feeling protected and guided because he states that God s hands will guide them

Analysis Of `` City Of Thieves `` By David Benioff
This world is amazing because everyone is going to a hell like war every day to make a living. That
means we need to be fed, warm, and happy to live. Once we are forced to live in extreme
circumstances with limited necessities, then the real colors that we unknowingly keep hidden inside of
us are revealed in a blink of an eye, and it can be hazardous. For this essay, I am going to write a
theme on survival from David Benioff s novel, City of Thieves, because the story illustrates a ruthless

In the end of the story, Lev reunites with Vika again because they separate after they defeat
Abendroth. During the journey, Lev and Kolya endure many struggles that Russians might have
experience in real life during the Siege of Leningrad such as lack of food, warmth, and motivation.
Food is one of their main struggles. There is nothing much left to eat in Russia during that time
because the government only has a limited supply of food so they can only give out a small number of
ration cards to their people. This disturbs normal daily life and happiness like bread for example. Lev
narrates The entire city was starving, no one had enough to eat, and still, everyone cursed the bread,
the sawdust. flavor, how hard it got in the cold. People broke their teeth trying to chew it (Benioff, 11).
The bakeries have to make bread with cottonseed, cellulose, and sawdust as the flour and grain grew
scarce. This is not right because people can t have real food. Meanwhile, the delicious tasting,
beautiful sight, and good touch of actual food bring true happiness on people face. Yet, making bread
is not the only thing that people can t enjoy. After Lev and Kolya receive the mission from Colonel
Grechko, they immediately visit a black market called Hay Market because they were hoping to find a
dozen eggs there. Unfortunately, they didn t see any, but as they were searching, they encounter a boy

Animal Slaughtering Is The Killing Of Animals
Animal slaughtering is the killing of animals; most of them domestic, and mainly for the purpose of
human consumption. Many different types of animal slaughtering methods have been created such as;
carbon dioxide, inert gas hypoxia, captive bolt pistol, gunshot, exsanguination, and many other that
are not regulated. Such varying methods have evolved since the beginning of times, but with the
increasing rates of the human population a faster way of slaughtering needed to be created in order to
keep up. The question here is, have we, in our attempt to provide for the many, forgotten about ethical
ways to kill those that are gifting us with their life?
The problem we need to understand here is that many of these regulated methods are not ethical and
cause suffering to the dying animal. Whether it causes them pain and distress even at low
concentrations due to the carbon dioxide, broken bones due to shackling, massive damage to the skull
and a shockwave which stuns the brain due to captive bolt pistol, or a slow and painful death if their
sticking wound is inaccurately placed this methods need to be either reevaluated or vanished. It is not
fair for animals to suffer and undergo horrible deaths just to satiate our hunger. When did we start
forgetting how to take care of that that give us life? When did we start killing without mercy for the
sake of our people? When did we forget to care for the minority in order to benefit the majority?

Application For The Cloud Service Provider
Applications in today s world consume resources on a wide variety of scale, one application could be
CPU based while another could be network based which mean each application would saturate a few
resources and under utilize a few. With cloud computing, Pay as you go enables you to pay only for
the utilized. For example, an application consumes only 50% of the processing power; you need not
pay for the entire set of machines and would only pay for the utilized rate and cloud providers offer
competitive prices today. To add to it operating costs like building space, power, cooling, maintenance
of servers and network will be on the cloud service provider. The installation, upgrades and patches
are easily done as cloud provider usually relies on virtual machines instead of physical equipment.
According to a study, in the year of 2000, 45% of IT budget was spent on capital expenditure whereas
only 6% of the resulting server capacity was utilized1. In this scenario, in the next couple of years the
cost of server maintenance would exceed the capital expenditure invested with very less utilization
ratio. Datacenters of large scales can reduce the economies and time of computing to a large extent
and also contribute to the Green IT initiative saving the environment. Cloud also offers potential
benefits like scalability where adding additional resources can be done in matter of hours and also
eliminates the need for huge capital expenditure which enables startups access to large

Parenting Styles In I Am Sam
While watching I Am Sam , Baumrind s parenting styles are displayed in the main characters. The
parenting style Sam best represents is authoritative. Sam encourages Lucy to be the best she can be
while still enforcing rules. Lucy pretends she cannot read the word different because she does not
want to progress without Sam, and he forces her to read the word. Sam also knows what is right and
wrong and enforces this on Lucy. When Lucy climbed out of the window and walked to Sam s new
apartment, he took her right back to her foster family s house. Sam may have the mental capacity of a
seven year old, but he is a good parent in my eyes. Another parenting style shown in I Am Sam is
neglectful parenting. Sam s lawyer, Rita is always busy with her practice and does not spend enough
time with her son, resulting in him being uninterested in her. Rita s husband is never around and is
unfaithful to Rita. Rita not having enough time for her son and her husband leaving creates an
unstable environment for her son. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The film ends with unanswered questions, and makes you wonder what had happened with Sam and
Lucy. Many questions are unanswered in the final scene. Did Sam get custody? Did Randy and her
husband adopt Lucy and Sam has visitations? Based on the ending of the film I can only assume that
the court made the decision for Sam, Randy and her husband to receive joint custody of Lucy. I am
satisfied with this ending because Sam gets to be with his daughter who he loves and Lucy has a

Reducing High School Dropout Rates
Steinberg (2016) states, Adolescents who leave high school before graduating are more likely to come
from lower socioeconomic levels, poor communities, large families, single parent families, permissive
or disengaged families, and household where little reading material is available. In short, adolescents
who drop out of school are more likely to come from backgrounds with limited family capital, which
has three components: economic capital, social capital, and cultural capital (p. 341). Three actions that
should be taken to reduce the dropout rate is have families be encouraging and engaged, provide social
and cultural capital, and intervene in early childhood.
The first action that should be taken to reduce the dropout rate is to have families be encouraging,
engaged, and lenient. An adolescents achievement is linked to their parents standards and expectations

simple way. They escaped from England to be able to worship God as they liked, and to recreate a

Consequently, their government reflected these ideas.
New England was governed in a way that promoted the glory of God and the settlers own common
good. The state was divided into self governing towns: groups of settlers received lands that were then
subdivided, residents being accorded lots in the central area and land outside for farming.

Gender Exploitation, Trafficking, And Mobility Of Women...
On the 5th of March, 2001, Oxana Rantseva, a 21 year old Russian national, arrived in Cyprus and
was granted a work permit as an artiste until June of that year. This type of work permit was discussed
in a report on artistes in Cyprus by the Cypriot Ombudsman in 2003 (as well as multiple other
subsequent reports on human trafficking), clarifying that the word artiste had become synonymous
with prostitute. It was also noted that beginning in the 1990 s the majority of the women serving in
Cyprus s prostitution market were coming from former states of the Soviet Union. During this time
Cyprus was implementing stricture regulations to limit the number of women immigration to work as

Doping Testing And Doping Tests
Doping dates back to ancient Greek where athletes took special diets to make themselves stronger. In
the 19th Century, substances such as caffeine, alcohol and cocaine were used to enhance performance
among long distance athletes. In 1904, for example, Thomas Hicks won the marathon by taking raw
eggs, doses of brandy administered during the race and injections of strychnine. By the year 1920s,
people realized that restrictions had to be created regarding the use of drugs in sports. In 1928, IAAF
was the first sports federation to ban doping fir the use of stimulating substances. In 1930, the problem
became worse because of the introduction of synthetic hormones, and the IAAF lacked the proper
equipment to detect doping of such kinds. By 1960, doping was a big issue because of the death of an
athlete Knud Jensen during the Olympics games in Mexico. An autopsy revealed the presence of
amphetamine a performance enhancement drug.
In 1966, FIFA and Cycling were the first sports to introduce doping tests in their world
championships. The International Olympics Committee followed suit the following year, and it tested
athletes in the 1968 Olympic Games. By the year 1999, the IOC convened the first World Conference
on Doping in Sports, which lead to the formation of the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) on
November of the same year. By 200, the fight against the use of EPO was ongoing and tests were
undertaken during the Sydney Olympics. Currently, more research is undertaken

Generally, heterogeneous nucleation takes place more quickly since the foreign particles act as a place
or structure for the crystal to grow on. Heterogeneous nucleation is slower and can take place by
several methods. Some of the most typical are small inclusions, or cuts, in the container the crystal is
being grown on. (Dr. Helmenstine, A. M. 2011) After nucleation has taken place, then the second stage
is growth. The growth stage is when the crystals actually start to form. The solute molecule in the
solution will be attracted to the protocrystal until more and more molecules bond together and then the
crystal starts to grow until it is a fully formed crystal. Concluding, a crystal has two stages after
supersaturation takes place, nucleation and growth. During these two stages is when the growth and
size of a crystal is determined.
A seed crystal is a common method people use to grow crystals; seed crystal is categorized under
assisted nucleation, so the process of growing a crystal becomes faster. A seed crystal is created by
supersaturation (Banfield, J., amp; Wallace, H. c. 2002). When the supersaturated solution has cooled
down, seed crystals form at the bottom of the solution (Thackwray, M. 2003). After a crystal seed is
formed, it is used to grow a crystal. The crystal seed is tied to a string. Then the crystal seed is

The Effects Of Unauthorized Migration On The United States
Vicious Cycle
Unauthorized migration in the United States has turned into a Vicious Cycle of adverse effects that
sustain a system of underdevelopment, reduced productivity, low wage, and limited rights (Hinojosa,
2015). This is the reality of many migrants that leave their country of origin in search of economic
mobility. The push factors that influence people s decision to migrate are primarily economic and
security. Poverty, lack of employment, opportunities, and economic mobility along with high rates of
violence and crime drive people out of their home countries which tend to be in the Global South and
into the Global North where developed nations like the United States have pull factors that attract the
excessive labor from developing nations. Demand for low skilled labor, higher paying wages, social
and political stability, quality education, and greater wealth are some of the many qualities that make
advanced nations the preferred destination.
The Vicious Cycle begins with the push factors that cause people to migrate out (Hinojosa, 2015).
Lack of opportunities take people across treacherous borders in the hopes of reaching their destination,
a country like the United States in which they find a decent paying job that allows them to sustain
themselves and their loved ones back home (Hinojosa, 2015. The inflow of remittances to a home

The Importance Of Voting In Australian Democracy
Voting takes place on a day chosen by the government. Federal elections occur three years before the
last election, but sometimes the government will call an election earlier. MPs in the federal House of
Representatives serve for a three year term. Some of the state and territory parliaments have four year
terms.
Who can vote?
Voting and having a say in Australian democracy has changed substantially since federation. In 1901
most male British subjects over 21 and resident in Australia could vote. In 1902, Australia became the
second country in the world, after New Zealand, to extend voting rights to women. The
Commonwealth Franchise Act in 1902, meant that women gained the right to vote and stand for
election to parliament.
In 1973, more Australians gained the right to participate in elections when the voting age was lowered
from 21 to 18 years old. Who should have the right to vote in Australia s democracy continues to be
discussed and can be changed by an Act of Parliament. People who are seventeen years old are
allowed to enrol to vote, but you are not allowed to vote until you are 18 years old or over.
To be able to vote, you would need to be an Australian citizen or a British subject who was on a
commonwealth electoral roll on the 25th of January since 1984. Australia is one of the few countries
who has compulsory voting. If a citizen, you must register first before you vote. Your name will be

Economic Systems Essay
Introduction
Economic systems are organized way in which a state or nation allocates its resources and apportions
goods and services in the national community. An economic system is slackly defined as country s
plan for its services, goods produced, and the exact way in which its economic plan is carried out.
There are three types of economic systems exist, they are command economy, market economy, and
mixed economy. Command economy is also sometimes called planned economy. The expectations of
this type of economy is that all major decisions that related to the construction or production,
distribution, commodity and service prices are all made by the government. However, in market
economy, national and state governments play a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Businesses can decide which goods to produce and in what quantity and consumers can decide what
they want to purchase and at what price. The role of the state is limited to ensure right precision in the
prices charged by the sellers. Prices also have the function to allocate and distribute a country s
resources. Market leads to complete effectiveness bringing about the best possible distribution of a
country s resources in a perfect world. This would only happen in a state of equilibrium and there is a
unique price for every commodity. But in a realistic world which is imperfect by nature, prices are
never at equilibrium and very unstable depending upon the vagaries of the market forces. This
generally harms people living below the poverty line. It is impossible for them to pay high prices in
cases of demand shortage. Thus, the free market model is not a viable option in developing countries
which has a large number of poor. Besides, producers are aim to minimize profit and maximize rent of
production. Examples of countries that are using this economy system are Hong Kong, USA, and UK.
Many developing countries like India and China are moving towards totally free market economy. The
command economy is government directed. The market forces have very little say in such an
economy. There is no private property. On the other hand, a command economy aims at using all
available resources for developing either

Chapter 1
The statement applies an everyday situation to the reader and give the reader what to apply from the
information they were given. Everyday situation was about giving the salesclerk your credit card. We
never view a situation other ways until we process the information we were given. You had to think
about someone who is reliable to use my credit card information. The author attacked us with a lot of
information we might not have understood in order to carefully apply the word they uses to
comprehend.
Paper 2 Final
Chapter five made the reader continually stop to recap the information they had consumed.
Contemplate is a better word to describe the tone of the chapter. Think about these words when

I noticed a complete change in paragraphs between the draft and final. Paper 2 was completely
different from paper one because Discussion Board started the process for the paper. Discussion Board
three was to input your idea on how to do paper two. It was somewhat of an outline to the paper. On
paper one, I didn t place any thought into the paper. I just went with the flow. On paper two, I used the
discussion as a reference to what to write in the paper. I took more time in editing the paper two. What
I learned that is going to help me created better paper is started my paper with an outline.
Processes
Thinking back to the beginning of the semester, I improved in fixing my mistakes in my writing.
Whenever I review and edit my drafts, I would usually overlook most mistakes because I would just
read my draft but not look at the mistakes I commit. In my paper one draft, Opening, social mind bugs
are a trait human have developed to become social: human is social animals. In my paper, one final,
Opening, social mind bugs are traits humans have developed to become social: humans are social
animals. In this first paper, I only recognized little mistakes that stood out in my final paper. I already
noticed that I can remove the word opening, and I could have used a semicolon instead of a colon. I
improved on looking for grammar mistakes. I started using a trick my tutor recommended for me to
use when I am editing my paper. I should read my draft slower, so I

most intriguing information about this mysterious and deadly creature, and we are here to fill you in.
Read on to discover the top eight things that you didn t know about the spider!
Number Eight: The Spider Diet
Spiders are notorious for consuming their prey vampire style, but the technique is necessary to the
nature of the spider. The innards of these creatures are so thin that they simply can t process solids;
therefore, evolution has fit them with the ability to liquidize their meals before consumption. During
this process, digestive enzymes are shot through an unlucky victim, and the spider consumes it by
grinding it up with its fangs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather, they prefer to indulge in the thrill of the hunt. Some amazing species, like trapdoor spiders,
have adapted to using tools to catch their prey.
Number Two: Glass Bones
Tarantulas are one of the friendliest species of spiders, and they are also the most delicate. Oddly
enough, a short drop can cause a tarantula s exoskeleton to rupture. They don t exactly have glass
bones, but it is a pretty similar effect. In addition, tarantulas are one of the few spider species who do
not bit to defend themselves. Instead, if one feels threatened, it will shoot barbed hairs from its
abdomen. It won t kill you, but it might sting a bit.
Number One: Little Jumpers
Jumping spiders can be one of the creepiest species of this creature. They are often rather docile;
however, they have an extremely intimidating talent for vertical jumping. It is estimated that spiders
can jump straight up as much as 40 times their length, which is proportionally equivalent to a man
jumping to the top floor of a 21 story skyscraper. We hope you enjoyed our list of the top 15 things

(Such as antisocial/psychopathic personality disorders and engage in deliberate acts of Zoosadism,
Animal can be abused by how you treat them, but what has that animal ever did to you that would
want you to kill it, There are stories about human abuse, but has there ever been a person who would
worry about their pets that they can also get abused, Whenever you look at an animal s eyes would
you ever think that they have feelings that they to also suffer as you do. Everyone has feelings same as
animals just to look at their face or eyes you would know about how they feel, Animals can feel pain
and suffer just as humans can but since sociopaths have a general inability to empathise, they are able
to inflict pain and urgency on sentient beings with no feelings of remorse the increasing probability
that cruelty to humans is the next step. The quote that stands out is (This is a personal issue for me
since my ex husband is a medically documented sociopath and I had put a stop to Tim walking our pit
bulls and for him to have any contact with any of our seven dogs someone present our dogs were
kicked, punched, jerked at the neck by chain lead shed hardness tightened into place around their
necks and even my pit bulls become cowardly dogs). There are times where your own pets become
afraid of you just by how you treat them and would not want to be around you, A dog can bleed, be
choked, happy, upset, all other feelings that a human can feel because weather you can see it or not

Descriptive Essay On Baseball
There is a diverse collection of baseball stadiums around the nation, and they each have unrivaled
qualities that make them home to America s favorite pastime a game played on diamonds. But there s
only one ballpark like PNC Park, which is the notable home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Travel guides
and sports writers alike rave about the park s view of the city skyline and praise their unique selection
of sandwiches from an esteemed Pittsburgh restaurant. But what truly sets this spectacle apart is the
soul of the place. The park itself beats with a heart of black and gold that the thousands of unwavering
fans fuel with their enduring loyalty, and grows stronger with every cry of Raise the Jolly Roger.
When Pittsburgh faithful enter the park, they feel as if they ve returned home.
Over 35,000 supporters have traveled from different day jobs, backgrounds, and family situations to
share in the experience of one game. Though you probably won t meet these people who are packed
close next to you in this stadium in your everyday life, your hearts will all plunge one minute and soar
the next as you yell at the opposing team and hope for the Bucs to score a home run so that you ll get a
free Denny s meal. To your left, a group of middle aged men with scruffy beards, sweaty t shirts, and
heavy workers boots sit with massive cans of beer in their hands, which come close to spilling each
time they throw their hands up in anger towards the blind umpire. A straggler in the front

  • 2. An Overview On The Investment Services Industry Industry Information and Overview: The investment services industry is one of the fastest paced and rapidly evolving sectors of the economy. The industry is highly dependent on the state of the economy and is highly cyclical. In 2000 when established firms in the industry began to tap the potential of the Internet, trading volumes crashed in what is now termed the Dot Com bubble. In 2002 when it seemed that innovative technology and telecommunications companies would continuously improve business productivity, the technology and telecom sectors crashed. More recently, just when the industry thought it figured out how to rig the mortgage market to secure record profits with little to no risk, the entire mortgage market crashed and created a liquidity crisis and a recession that would be later described as the Great Recession. Investment services firms have learned time and time again that they still must contend with an inevitable cycle of boom and bust. The primary functions of an Investment Bank: Raising Capital and Security Underwriting: One function of an Investment Bank is to package and issue securities for sale to clients, companies or the general public. An investment bank would for example facilitate the sale of shares of a previously private company that would like to go public and offer those shares for sale to investors on an open market. The investment bank would determine the value of the security and the underlying risk of the asset in order to sell it at an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Fish Survival Rate ( % ) Is Correlated With The Crop Duration Shrimp survival rate (%) is correlated with the crop duration in 2012 (p = 0.0006, r = 0.75) and in 2013 (p = 0.0031, r = 0.71). Shrimp yield (kg/ha/crop) was correlated with the crop duration in 2012 (p = 0.0028, r = 0.68) and in 2013 (p = 0.0016, r = 0.74). The crop duration is negatively correlated with average culture period water temperature, while it is positively correlated with CV of hourly water temperature, and with the count of hours fall in the following temperature zones: out of best, out of optimum, and tolerated temperature (Table 4). Of course, when the crop duration is longer, either early stocking or late harvesting, it is extended to cooler days which will lower the average water temperature and increase the temperature variation, and increase the count of undesirable temperatures. Aeration rate was inversely correlated with daily shrimp production (kg/ha/d) (p = 0.0432, r = 0.36) and positively correlated with FCR (p = 0.0452, r = 0.36); While it was not correlated with all other shrimp production parameters and water temperature parameters (P 0.05). It is obvious that higher aeration rates are needed when dissolved oxygen levels decrease. This decrease is inversely affecting shrimp growth, survival and production, and is increasing the FCR. The correlations of all shrimp performance and water temperature parameters with pond surface area to volume ratio were not significant (P 0.05) which agrees with what was observed by Prapaiwong and Boyd (2012b) ... • 4. Music, Pop, By Mehgan Perine From classical music, to pop, to a few selections of musical theatre music, Mehgan Perine surely delivered an outstanding performance at her senior recital. On Monday May 16, many of Mehgan s beloved family members, peers, and friends all came out to support her at the Covina Center of the Performing Arts to watch her perfectly roll out a beautiful recital. A senior recital that included many types of music genres, and even an Italian aria. Perine is only eighteen years old and she was the only student at the School of Arts and Enterprise to be selected to perform a senior recital. Her talent, grades, and personality got her to where she is today. Perine did bring an amazing overall performance to the stage by tying in everything in her vocal talents with posture and breathing, diction, tone and registration, and performance etiquette. During the performance Perine sang a total of 12 solo songs and a duet. During the entirety of the show Perine showed excellence in her posture and breathing. She stood in a all black dress for the entire show. She was never slouching her shoulders, her knees were never locked, and she stood tall and confident. At moments, the audience could not comment on her posture because she would walk around the stage to give the show a more alive feeling. Her breathing was excellent also. Throughout most of the show many were impressed that she did not breath a lot from her chest. The audience, could more than likely tell that she was breathing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Similarities Between Krasner And Naim The standard of the popular sovereignty implies, that the authority of a state is to govern itself or another state. When thinking upon our current international political system we can see that it has currently seen better days. According to Stephen Krasner and Moises Naim we can safely presume that many actions need to be taken and a sense of Shared Sovereignty needs to be installed. This would not only allow for the greater protection of certain states, but would also account for the interaction of states on an allied level in order to crack down on the Five Wars of Globalization. With the influx of a shared sovereignty according to Krasner and Naim it would create stronger borders and allow for alliances with unlikely states. According to Stephen Krasner and his shared sovereignty mentality it can be noted that many of the sovereignty rules do not apply due to, no truly autonomous, internationally recognized well governed states. Stated in the article he points out three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That being said I feel as though the main issue that may arise in which would take top priority is currently our nuclear situation. With the addition of a nuclear arms race according to the New York Times, it states that we could potentially be reviving the Cold War. Having the knowledge that there could be WMD s (weapons of mass destruction) currently underground near my home brings a sense of no security. • 7. Natural Law Theory Vs Utilitarianism In this paper, I will argue that a combination of Natural Law Theory and Utilitarianism best captures what should be required in terms of respecting natural rights. One of the benefits of Utilitarianism is that it looks at what we ought to do, not must do, while keeping in mind the consequences of our actions. On the negative side, all consequences, short term and long term, must be considered, often making it very difficult to make the ultimately correct decision, since seeing the future is not a human attribute. Who is to determine what is best? The easy answer is the majority, but this could result in the tyranny of the majority. Since Utilitarianism is mainly about what ought to be done, when what ought to be done is decided by the majority, and goes against what the minority believes to be right, the tyranny of the majority is pushed onto the minority. As an example, prior to the 1980 s it was common to smoke in public, at work, and in restaurants. American society s norms changed, and smoking was no longer approved of by the majority. The result was that millions of smokers, unable or unwilling to quit, were forced to give up their freedom of smoking. While argument that smoking is unhealthy is valid, smoking was acceptable for over 200 years in America. This also happened with alcohol, with the 18th Amendment banning it in 1920, and Marijuana being outlawed in 1937. While on the surface the argument that Natural Rights Theory could lead to anarchy sounds plausible, and Bentham and Burke may have had cause to state so, eventually the turmoil that may at first seem to be anarchy, eventually does settle down as social contracts are developed, and governments created. The American Revolution may have seemed like anarchy at the time, but it did develop into a constitutional republic that is now 240 years old. There are many struggles that most outsiders are completely oblivious about. In her book The Roundhouse, Louise Erdrich brings those problems to light. She gives her readers a feel of what it is like to be Native American by illustrating the struggles through the life of Joe, a 13 year old Native American boy living on a North Dakota reservation. Paper Proposal Eman Haggagi Philosophy 101 Paper Proposal Islam does not promote violence and terrorism I believe that there have been many misconceptions of Islam that are portrayed and plastered all over the news, media and even billboard for years now. Millions of Muslims living in the western world have found themselves under a lot of inspection by their societies. Charles Peirce a philosopher who is known for his methods for fixing belief proves a good point and idea in order for people to be more considerable of their thoughts and beliefs to reason correctly before judging the Islamic religion to be promoting violence. People instead of judging all people in Islam and any religion, should be thinking more maturely as to who is the evil doer, instead of taking their anger out on innocent people and the wellbeing in society to keep a unity in the world. However, another famous philosopher whom I disagree with who argues Peirce s methods of belief is David Hume. Hume believes that of which to avoid all problems, all religious belief should be rid of. The question whether Islam promotes violence and terrorism is a question that I believe is an answer many people don t understand the answer to and lack the knowledge of their own to make the distinction. I wanted to show that Voltaire believed that the enlightenment was the time where religious superstitions and ignorance was to be replaced with rational thinking, and tolerance. Voltaire was well known for believing religious tolerance and that is his legacy but also his main source of conflict with the Catholic church. My best piece of evidence that highlights his conflicts with the church is that, he developed a writing called, Lettres philosophiques, which focused quite a bit on intolerance and superstition which was publicly burned and banned, because it was considered a strike against the Catholic Church, (Voltaire, Stanford). I received this piece of evidence from the Stanford encyclopedia of philosophy, which I found was a credible source, because it is in fact an educational website, that was incredibly well written, and went into great detail about all the different aspects of Voltaire s life. The source was valuable, because it s purpose was educational, and written for students, it was rich and detailed in content, it was overall very factual and useful. Everyone in life goes through a tribulation of some variety, including those who believe in a superior being. A common term for these people, that is, people who carry said belief, is religious, referring to a person who is devoted to the applications of a church or other institution, perhaps a synagogue. Although the two compliment each other, religion is not to be confused with spirituality. While religion focuses on involvement in a religious program, such as a church, spirituality is often thought to be a reserved and private experience, in which the partaker places meanings with events that are close to them as an individual. Religious and spiritual people alike have been studied over recent years in order to clarify theories which claim that coping with trauma in a religious manner has an effect on the outcome pertaining to how well the person copes. Isolated LANS made electronic communication between different offices or departments impossible. Duplication of resources meant that the same hardware and software had to be supplied to each office or department, as did a separate support staff. This lack of network management meant that no centralized method of managing and troubleshooting networks existed (Universitat Koblenz Landau). David, who had a heart for God, would create some of the most beautiful symbolic themes in his psalms by combining his faith and love of the Lord with everyday settings that he was familiar with during his time. The symbolic theme of Psalm 23 identifies David as both a shepherd and sheep by creating a peaceful mood through the tranquil settings. Theme Although this psalm is often recited at funerals or solemn occasions, the original theme that David established in Psalm 23 is faith and assurance in the Lord. Many different types of animal slaughtering methods have been created such as; carbon dioxide, inert gas hypoxia, captive bolt pistol, gunshot, exsanguination, and many other that are not regulated. Such varying methods have evolved since the beginning of times, but with the increasing rates of the human population a faster way of slaughtering needed to be created in order to keep up. The question here is, have we, in our attempt to provide for the many, forgotten about ethical ways to kill those that are gifting us with their life? The problem we need to understand here is that many of these regulated methods are not ethical and cause suffering to the dying animal. Whether it causes them pain and distress even at low concentrations due to the carbon dioxide, broken bones due to shackling, massive damage to the skull and a shockwave which stuns the brain due to captive bolt pistol, or a slow and painful death if their sticking wound is inaccurately placed this methods need to be either reevaluated or vanished.
