2.  The passive voice is used when the subjet of the sentence
in the active voice is not determined.
Ej: His car has been stolen.
Su coche ha sido robado.
 The passive voice is used when we want give importance
to what happened.
Ej: The letter was delivered yesterday
La carta fue entregada ayer.
 The passive voice is used in technical and scientific texts.
Ej: the whole has been structured in conformity with the
XML-TEI P5
El conjunto ha sido estructurado en conformidad con el
XML-TEI P5

3. Present Simple Is/are + past participle
Ej:The letter are delivered here.
Continuos Is/are being + past participle
Ej: He’s being interviewed at the moment.
Past Simple Was/were + past participle
Ej: they were sent by train
Continuos Is/were being + past participle
Ej: my suit was being cleaned at the time
Present perfect Simple Has/have been + past participle
Ej: All the tickets have been sold.
Past perfect Simple Had been + past participle
Ej: I was too late: The paper had been
removed.
Future Simple Will be + past participle
Ej: You will be met at the station.
Infinitive (to be) + past participle
Ej: I don’t want to be arrested
Gerund He doesn’t like being told what to do.

scientific or mechanical processes, or in
formal explanations:
Ej: The passive is frecuently used…
 It is not essencial to repeat the auxiliary verb
to be in a list of processes:
Ej: The cars are washed, cleaned, checked, and
then driven to the ports.
