Elizabeth is a senior at Grayson College majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher. She is motivated to get involved in politics due to her unhappiness with decisions made regarding DACA and wanting to better how the government is ruled. Some key things she learned include how Texas law enforcement works, how oil transformed Texas agriculture, and finding the death penalty issue most interesting to study in depth. The death penalty will continue to be a controversial issue in Texas, which has a top rate of executions. Texas also has an influential role in shaping federal government policy due to the rules and standards it sets that other states do not always share.
