Azure Fast 7 - The Fastest & Easiest way to get your Web apps onto AzureMicheal Colhoun
First Presented at the Azure Belfast Meetup, July 20th 2016.
The world of web application development is going through rapid evolution and it's impossible to keep current with developments in all areas.
Wouldn't it be nice if your could shadow someone as they make the journey and show you the steps they took?
Meet Hugh, a fictitious .Net Developer as he goes on a journeys to explore different ways to deploy web apps onto Azure. He starts with the basics of File-> Publish and as he learns more about DevOps and continuous delivery, so too does the complexity of his deployments evolve. However he finally settled on the easiest and fastest way to get his apps onto Azure.
In this hour long seminar we explore the new Asp.Net Core 1.0 cross-platform framework and how this works well with Team Services, Release Manager, Git and GitHub, and look at more advanced deployment scenarios with NuGet packaging and Octopus Deploy.
We also look at templated projects and SPAs for Angular 2 and React that work well with Asp.Net Core, and demonstrate builds on Windows, Mac Os X and Linux to see which models work best for each Platform.
We conclude with a lessons on simplicity. Building good software takes it's foundations from getting the small steps right.
Here's a brief recap of the announcements and takeaways from this year's Google I/O conference held in Mountain View, CA. Learn about the new products, development tools, and APIs that Google released.

There are cases where bugs are discovered only after the product is shipped and used by the end-users. The main reason for these bugs that appear only in the production environment is the use of real user scenarios with real user data. Production debugging is about solving customer-facing issues that aren't easily reproducible in the development or testing environments. When it comes to a cloud-hosted application, production debugging becomes even harder. The code is running on multiple hosts, a business flow can span many services. A remote debugging session with the cloud is dangerous and may introduce side effects to the currently running software, such as performance degradation, interruption of service, and data correctness issues.
In this lecture, we will see how we can remote debug our cloud staging environment, and how we can use Visual Studio Snapshot debugger to set Snapshots and Log points in our production environment.
To get even more insights, the audience will see a revolutionary tool and approach for a collaborative production debugging – OzCode Debugging as a Service (DaaS), where the DevOps and the Dev team can solve production problems together!
You will learn:
1. The difficulties of debugging a modern cloud-hosted application
2. Methods and tools for capturing the state and debugging cloud-hosted services

Everyone is talking about Big Data – but what’s really behind it and how can you make data work for your business?
Collecting data is just one part of the puzzle. To source the right information, read it so it makes sense and -finally- how to execute on it is the most important task for successful big data management.
At this panel workshop we’ll listen to a lot of examples from big companies who’re dealing with massive amount of data on a daily basis. Each panel member will give a short demo and insight to their strategies and might revile some surprising facts.
This workshop is organised in cooperation with Berlin Geekettes.
React in Native Apps - Meetup React - 20150409Minko3D
Minko is a platform to display, share and interact with 3D content from anywhere, whether you're on a web browser, a workstation, or a device that fits in your pocket. In order to reach those targets with the team we have, we had to go with a cross-platform, hybrid solution that would enable fast UI development with native 3D performances. So we built one, on top of many open source projects, using C++. This talk will discuss our approach for building cross-platform HTML5 interfaces, with a C++/JS bridge to bind DOM APIs, and the tricks we use to make them responsive (spoiler: React is one of them).
Here you can see how easy it is to do development to Mac using free tools and frameworks provided by Microsoft.
What is all About? - Fast website development using .Net Core, Visual Studio Code; from the installation to continuos deployment on Azure.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
