Why Should You Care About Paper Reduction And Process Transformation?AIIM International
This document discusses the need for organizations to reduce their paper usage and transform their document processes and workflows. It notes that a lack of proper tools, inefficient processes, and unsecured sharing practices can hurt productivity, security, and sustainability. Specifically, it states that many employees lack PDF editing tools, face challenges with document collaboration, and rely on insecure file sharing methods. This increases risks like accidental sharing of sensitive data. It also stresses that paper waste negatively impacts the environment and organizations' bottom lines. The document concludes by recommending organizations provide the right digital tools to workers, educate them on secure processes, standardize collaboration, and promote sustainability initiatives to address these challenges.

What Do Records Managers Need to Know About Open Source, Open Standards, Open...Cheryl McKinnon
What do records and information managers need to know about the Web's Three Os? Open Source, Open Standards and Open Data? ARMA Ottawa IM Days - Nov 28, 2012
The document discusses 3 common mistakes made when building scalable SharePoint applications:
1. Conflating performance and scalability and not conducting proper load testing. Performance is for a single user while scalability is for growing number of users. Load testing should be part of development process.
2. Using SharePoint lists as an operational database which is not best practice. Lists are meant for abstraction, not large transactional databases. Consider a custom SQL database instead.
3. Not using CAML (Common Application Markup Language) to efficiently fetch list items which can impact performance and scalability. The document provides recommendations to avoid these mistakes like designing for future growth and volume from the start.
Keith Schengili-Roberts: Improve Your Chances for Documentation Success with ...Jack Molisani
Keith Schengili-Roberts presented on how moving to DITA and a content management system (CCMS) can improve chances of documentation success. He outlined key features of DITA like content reuse and separation of form from content. Four chief reasons for wanting to move included needing more efficiency, outgrowing current tools, rising localization costs, and content verification needs. A CCMS allows for versioning, workflow, metrics on production and reuse, and improved localization. It was argued the benefits outweigh upfront costs over time through opportunities for process improvement.

Planning Ahead to Connect the Dots Between IBM Domino, Notes, Connections and...panagenda
This document discusses how to understand your IBM Notes, Domino, Connections, and cloud infrastructure by analyzing data from various sources. It provides examples of using views in LOG.NSF and CATALOG.NSF to understand database and user activity. Connecting data on mail volume, file sharing, and mobile access helps comply with regulations. Metrics from Connections, Traveler, and servers show how goals for reducing mail size and consolidating are progressing. Migrating requires knowing baseline usage to determine what to move and server needs. Continuous analysis is important for projects like expanding or consolidating infrastructure.
SharePoint migrations rarely turn out as you plan them. They are sometimes risky and too often take longer than planned. Over the last 10 years of migrating from SharePoint 2003, 2007, 2010 to the latest versions of SharePoint/Office 365 we’ve seen a consistent theme -- organizations underestimate the complexity and level of effort required for a successful, smooth migration.
Whether you are planning to complete your own migration, or engaging a vendor to assist, this webinar will discuss precautions you can take to avoid the slippery slope experienced in SharePoint migrations.

This session covers the vital metrics you need to monitor to make your IBM Verse migration from IBM Domino as smooth as possible.
You will learn how to get your metrics from your IBM Domino architecture and analyse them correctly with standard IBM Administrator tools, what other tools can be used to narrow your metrics, and specific use cases you can refer to.
With more than 85 million people actively using Office 365, enterprises are looking to the platform to provide underlying technology to support knowledge management efforts.
In this webinar, Withum's Jill Hannemann, Principal, discusses fundamentals of a knowledge management strategy and areas where the technology of Office 365 aligns with process and people.
Jill focuses on how different workloads within Office 365 support functions such as sharing, organizing, finding, and retaining valuable, unstructured knowledge.
11 areas that you should have baked into your migration plans. In this vendor session at SPS San Diego, I also gave a 20 minute demo of Davinci Migrator for SharePoint 2010.

CAKE: Sharing Slices of Confidential Data on BlockchainClaudio Di Ciccio
Presented at the CAiSE 2024 Forum, Intelligent Information Systems, June 6th, Limassol, Cyprus.
Synopsis: Cooperative information systems typically involve various entities in a collaborative process within a distributed environment. Blockchain technology offers a mechanism for automating such processes, even when only partial trust exists among participants. The data stored on the blockchain is replicated across all nodes in the network, ensuring accessibility to all participants. While this aspect facilitates traceability, integrity, and persistence, it poses challenges for adopting public blockchains in enterprise settings due to confidentiality issues. In this paper, we present a software tool named Control Access via Key Encryption (CAKE), designed to ensure data confidentiality in scenarios involving public blockchains. After outlining its core components and functionalities, we showcase the application of CAKE in the context of a real-world cyber-security project within the logistics domain.
