This document presents a model of a photovoltaic array developed in MATLAB/Simulink. The model accounts for the effects of irradiation and temperature on the output current and power. The photovoltaic array is modeled as a current source in parallel with a diode. Equations are provided to calculate the photo current, reverse saturation current, and saturation current as functions of irradiation, temperature, and other parameters. Simulation results show the I-V and P-V characteristics of the photovoltaic module under varying irradiation levels and constant temperature, demonstrating increased current, voltage, and power output with higher irradiation.
