This document describes the steps to conduct a paired comparison analysis to rank multiple options or ideas. The process involves setting up a matrix with the options as row and column headings. For each cell, the more important of the two options is selected and scored based on the difference in their importance. The total scores for each option are then calculated and the options are ranked based on their scores.

1. PAIRED COMPARISON

2. START FROM: . CONSIDERING 1 TO 10 OPTIONS (IDEAS) FOR THE GIVEN PROBLEM STATEMENT

3. SET UP A MATRIX WITH ALL THE IDEAS AND ASSIGN A LETTER TO EACH OPTION MARK THE OPTIONS AS ROW AND COLUMN HEADINGS ON THE WORKSHEET.

4. FOR EACH CELL, DECIDE WHICH OF THE TWO OPTIONS IS MORE IMPORTANT. WRITE DOWN THE LETTER OF THE MORE IMPORTANT OPTION IN THE CELL, SCORE THE DIFFERENCE IN IMPORTANCE FROM 0 (NO DIFFERENCE) TO 3 (MAJOR DIFFERENCE).

5. CONSOLIDATE THE RESULTS BY ADDING UP THE TOTAL OF ALL THE VALUES FOR EACH OF THE OPTIONS. YOU MAY WANT TO CONVERT THESE VALUES INTO A PERCENTAGE OF THE TOTAL SCORE.

6. RESULT THE CONSIDERED IDEAS ARE RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE.
