Pachyderm is an easy-to-use authoring program that lets you create interactive multimedia learning modules for delivery on the web or in presentations. Pachyderm lets you create flash-based learning objects that combine video, audio, graphics and text into rich "nonlinear" user-driven learning experiences, without having to be a multimedia developer.
We’ll investigate the possibilities of creating learning objects and modules combined with the power of nonlinear digital storytelling, and explore the relationship between good storytelling and good instructional design. We’ll discuss what give stories power, and how we can tap into that power using a non-linear approach. We’ll demonstrate these concepts through the use of Pachyderm, an open source web-based, media-rich interactive flash presentation and authoring system. Pachyderm allows the construction of online nonlinear learning modules incorporating video, audio, graphics and text in a template-driven user-friendly environment.
