1. Pacetti Bay Middle School PTSO provides wonderful opportunities for you to be
involved with the school. Volunteers can be parents but grandparents, neighbors,
retirees are all welcome. All volunteers need to submit a St. John's County volunteer
application.
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
Book Fair
Two slots are open for volunteers for Tuesday evening (9/7) from 6 - 7:30 p.m. and
Friday morning from (7:30 - 9:30 a.m.). A copy of the schedule as of 9/4 is attached as
pdf file to this email blast.
Entertainment Books
Two volunteers are need for this Tuesday (9/7) and Thursday (9/9) from 7:25 a.m. until
8:05 a.m. to distribute/sell/manage Entertainment Books.
Media Center
We are full on volunteers until 9/17. If you are interested in helping out in the center,
please forward your contact information for upcoming activities
Fall Dance
The Fall Dance scheduled for 9/24 is seeking volunteers to help with this popular event.
Attendance is anticipated around 400 students. Assistance is needed with Decorations
(during school hours) , Chaperones, Concessions, Student Pickup/Traffic and Cleanup.
Parents will be asked to donate baked goods or Pepsi products (to be dropped off on
9/24.)

2. Classroom Volunteers
Fair Testing 9/15 and 9/17 (Multi-Purpose Room)
Math Makeup 9/16 and 9/17 (Graphic Arts Lab)
Science Makeup 9/20 and 9/21
Monitoring students. Let us know what times you are available. Coverage is needed for
the entire day.
Great Leaps
Great Leaps reading program that builds vocabulary, phonics, and fluency skills.
Volunteers will pull students from IR class to administer a 5 minute probe and track the
student's reading progress.
Parent volunteers are need 3 days a week to record and monitor student fluency with
Great Leaps.
The times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8 - 930 a.m. and 11:10 - 1:10.
Two volunteers are needed for Day 2, Period 4 for classroom monitoring.
Great Leaps training will be on 9/8 at 2 p.m. (Room 305) This is an entire year
commitment.
