The document outlines the Patriotic Front party's economic policies and strategies in Zambia, including plans to develop key sectors like infrastructure, tourism, and land. It details strategies to streamline development planning and the finance portfolio. It also discusses monetary and fiscal policies like reviewing taxes, interest rates, and the mining tax regime. Infrastructure development priorities include rehabilitating roads, bridges, airports and the rail network.
This document summarizes several unusual medical cases:
- A 15-year-old schoolgirl is only 58 cm tall and weighs 5 kg.
- Sultan Kosen from Turkey holds the record as the tallest man at 2.47 meters tall.
- Carlos Slim Helu from Mexico is considered the richest man in the world with over $74 billion.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive function. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help protect against mental illness and improve symptoms.
E-learning involves electronically supported learning and teaching using information and communication technologies. It can take place inside or outside the classroom and involves the transfer of skills and knowledge through applications and processes like web-based learning, virtual education, and digital collaboration. Content is delivered via different media online or offline and can be self-paced or instructor-led. Learning occurs through online discussions, interactions, and teaching content to others. Social networks have also become an important part of e-learning by facilitating online learning communities.
This meta-analysis evaluated 5 randomized controlled trials assessing the efficacy of botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) injections for reducing upper limb spasticity in stroke patients. The analysis found that BTX-A injections significantly reduced muscle tone on the Modified Ashworth Scale and improved scores on the Global Assessment Scale compared to placebo. While BTX-A decreased spasticity, its effect on functional improvement was unclear. The analysis concluded that BTX-A is an effective and safe treatment for reducing post-stroke upper limb spasticity. However, further research is needed to evaluate its long-term effects and impact on quality of life.
The document discusses issues monitoring and identification as part of corporate social responsibility. It outlines a 7-step strategic issues management process that includes scanning, identification, analysis, prioritization, formulation of response, implementation, and evaluation. It identifies 5 leading forces that can predict social issues: leading events, authorities/advocates, literature, organizations, and political actions. The document also discusses defining issues clearly, ranking issues based on relevance, actionability, criticality and urgency, and communicating corporate social responsibility through various means such as media relations and social media.
Industrial Algorithms LLC provides optimization solutions for advanced planning and scheduling problems. It develops the iMPress software for modeling and optimization of industrial processes. The company also provides consulting services and industrial modeling frameworks tailored for specific industries like oil and gas, consumer goods, and energy. Its goal is to help customers identify and solve bottleneck decision-making problems to improve bottom-line performance.
Retargeting strategies have evolved significantly since first being used about 7 years ago. Initially, retargeting involved plain ads used to track lost customers across the web. Now ads can be created and displayed within seconds. Effective retargeting in 2014 requires segmentation of visitors by factors like sales cycle stage and product interest. Real-time bidding allows marketers to bid on impressions in real-time auctions through ad exchanges. Creative optimization uses additional filters to tailor ads closely to individual interests. Facebook retargeting through the Facebook Exchange provides a highly targeted way to reconnect with visitors through ads in the Facebook Newsfeed.
Presented in this short document is a description of what is called Advanced Process Monitoring (APM) as described by Hedengren (2013). APM is the term given to the technique of estimating unmeasured but observable variables or "states" using statistical data reconciliation and regression (DRR) in an off-line or real-time environment and is also referred to as Moving Horizon Estimation (MHE) (Robertson et. al., 1996). Essentially, the model and data define a simultaneous nonlinear and dynamic DRR problem where the model is either engineering-based (first-principles, fundamental, mechanistic, causal, rigorous) or empirical-based (correlation, statistical data-based, observational, regressed) or some combination of both (hybrid).

The document summarizes how the magazine "Retro" attracted and addressed its target audience. It did this through:
1) Including popular artists like Katy Perry and The Beatles that would appeal to the audience's musical tastes.
2) Using strong photography and vintage fonts/styles that related to the interests of the target audience in photography, fashion from the 1950s/60s.
3) Providing quick facts and summaries about artists/music in a concise way that would engage the target audience.
The document provides an introduction to Industrial Modeling Language (IML), which allows users to configure data for modeling and solving large-scale industrial optimization problems. It describes how IML data is categorized into quantities, logic, and quality dimensions. The reference manual focuses specifically on configuring quantity data using frames with different features and fields. Frames are similar to sheets in a spreadsheet and are used to apply quantity-logic-quality attributes to unit-operation-port-state superstructure keys. The document outlines several basic frames and their fields for configuring quantity-only problem types.

PRINCIPIS DELS NOUS MITJANS
2_Modularitat
• Objecte = Fractal

• Imatges
• Vídeos
• Àudio

13. Universitat Oberta de Catalunya UOC
PRINCIPIS DELS NOUS MITJANS
4_Variabilitat
manera quasi automàtica (automatització) i immediata.
• Variable = Mutable.

PRINCIPIS DELS NOUS MITJANS
4_Variabilitat
forma l’objecte.
• Hipermèdia. Podem accedir als elements multimèdia utilitzant hipervincles.
• Actualitzacions, que poden ser automàtiques o manuals
• Escalabilitat. Podem generar versions diferents del mateix objecte mediàtic.

PRINCIPIS DELS NOUS MITJANS
5_Transcodificació
l’odinador.

VELLS MITJANS NOUS MITJANS
4- Conté informació indefinida 4- Conté informació fixe i limitada
Digitalització=pèrdua informació
