The document discusses different types and causes of depression from a Christian perspective. It outlines examples of "bad depression" caused by sin, worldly sorrow, and selfishness that can lead to death. It also describes "depression" resulting from stress, loss, and circumstances outside one's control that may lead to salvation or death. Further, it discusses "good depression" involving godly sorrow, suffering for righteousness, and feeling abandoned by God that produces repentance and leads to salvation. Specific biblical figures experiencing each type are provided like Jonah with disappointment and Job with loss.

WHO ARE YOU? Can your SOUL DIE? What is MANKINDS' Hope after DEATH?Linus Daniel
One of the most important doctrines of the New Testament scriptures is the Hope of Resurrection. We will consider biblical answers to many interesting question such as: If we automatically go to heaven or hell at death, what is significance of the resurrection and judgment? What will life be like for people on earth after resurrection is passed?, etc.

Jesus Christ is described as the ‘morning star’ in 2 Peter 1:19 (phosphoros) and in Revelation 2:28 (aster proinos), and He identifies Himself as ‘the bright morning star’ (ho aster ho lampros ho proninos) in Revelation 22:16” (413).
He goes on to point out that this “star” symbolism reflects the Old Testament and inter-testament emphasis on the “celestial” nature of the coming Messiah (cf. Num. 24:17; Mal. 4:2).
William Barclay suggested several ideas. He thought the expression could signify the coming resurrection of the righteous. Just as the “morning star” breaks forth from the darkness of night, so the Lord’s people will break out of the darkness of the grave (1957, 67).
Later, however, he came to a different conclusion. He was “quite certain” that the “correct interpretation” is this. The “morning star” is Christ himself.

How blessed are those in Christ who have their sins covered by His blood! Even David in Psalm 32 declares the blessing of covered sins. Just as the death angel passed over the Hebrews in Egypt because they were "covered by the blood on the mantle", we escape the wrath of God because the blood covers us!
THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE PATIENCE OF THE SAINTS. BECAUSE OF THE MARK OF THE BEAST, THE CRISIS HE [BEAST] WILL BRING UPON GOD'S PEOPLE, ETC, GOD'S PEOPLE MUST HAVE PATIENCE TO ENDURE.

Parable of the Wheat and Tares
Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
"The owner's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?'
"'An enemy did this,' he replied.
"The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'
"'No,' he answered, 'because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.'" (Matthew 13:24–30)
Knowledge and wisdom
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. (Proverbs 1:7)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise. (Psalm 111:10)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil. (Proverbs 3:3–7)
Problem with the World (Sin)
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. (Romans 5:12)
As it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one.” (Romans 3:10)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
Strength
Strength in God, Not in Man
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. (I Corinthians 1:25)
I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)
God Demonstrates His Strength in Our Weakness
Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are. (I Corinthians 1:26–28)
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (II Corinthians 12:9–11)
The Strong are to Help the Weak
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. ...

Mindfulness increases awareness of our emotions and teaches us to manage them better, leading to improved mood.
Regular mindfulness practice can improve our ability to concentrate and focus our attention on the present moment.
Slide 4: Benefits of Mindfulness for Physical Health
Research has shown that practicing mindfulness can contribute to lowering blood pressure, which is beneficial for heart health.
Regular meditation and mindfulness practice can strengthen the immune system, aiding the body in fighting infections.
Mindfulness may help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and obesity by reducing stress and improving overall lifestyle habits.
Slide 5: Impact of Mindfulness on Relationships
Mindfulness can help us better understand others and improve communication, leading to healthier relationships.
By focusing on the present moment and being fully attentive, mindfulness helps build stronger and more authentic connections with others.
Mindfulness teaches us how to be present for others in difficult times, leading to increased compassion and understanding.
Slide 6: Mindfulness Techniques and Practices
Focusing on the breath and mindful breathing can be a simple way to enter a state of mindfulness.
Body scan meditation involves focusing on different parts of the body, paying attention to any sensations and feelings.
Practicing mindful walking and eating involves consciously focusing on each step or bite, with full attention to sensory experiences.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. “Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with
His disciples. And He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other
side of the lake.” And they launched out. But as they sailed He
fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they
were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to
Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!”
Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water.
And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them,
“Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled,
saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even
the winds and water, and they obey Him!”” (Luke 8:22-25 NKJV)
3. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill,

4. “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some
will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits
and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having
their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to
marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God
created to be received with thanksgiving by those who
believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is
good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with
thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and
prayer.” (I Timothy 4:1-5 NKJV)

19. Sin
“Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you,
whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does
not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free
indeed.” (John 8:34-36 NKJV)
20. “‘The LORD is longsuffering and abundant in mercy,
forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no
means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the
fathers on the children to the third and fourth
generation. ’” (Numbers 14:18 NKJV)
21. Disappointment and anger (Jonah)
“Therefore now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for
it is better for me to die than to live!”
And it happened, when the sun arose, that God prepared a
vehement east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah’s head, so
that he grew faint. Then he wished death for himself, and
said, “ It is better for me to die than to live.”” (Jonah 4:3,
8 NKJV)
22. Rejection (Saul)
“Now the LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for
Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill
your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the
Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.””
(I Samuel 16:1 NKJV)
“But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a distressing
spirit from the LORD troubled him.” (I Samuel 16:14 NKJV)
23. “if My people who are called by My name will humble
themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from
their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and
will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (II Chronicles
7:14 NKJV)
24. For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father
the son in whom he delights (Proverbs 3:12 NKJV)
26. Persecution and disappointment
(Hannah)
“And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her
miserable, because the LORD had closed her womb.
Then Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do
you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart
grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?” (I
Samuel 1:6, 8 NKJV)
27. Fear (Elijah)
“And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life,
and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and
left his servant there. But he himself went a day’s
journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down
under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die,
and said, “It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I am
no better than my fathers!”” (I Kings 19:3-4 NKJV)
28. Lack of purpose (Solomon)
“Therefore I hated life because the work that was done
under the sun was distressing to me, for all is vanity
and grasping for the wind.” (Ecclesiastes 2:17 NKJV)
29. Pressure (Moses)
“Where am I to get meat to give to all these people? For they weep all over me,
saying, ‘Give us meat, that we may eat.’ I am not able to bear all these people
alone, because the burden is too heavy for me. If You treat me like this, please
kill me here and now—if I have found favor in Your sight—and do not let me
see my wretchedness!”
And the LORD said to Moses, “Has the LORD’s arm been shortened? Now you
shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.”” (Numbers 11:13-15,
23 NKJV)
30. Heartbreak
Bad depression: You got dumped out by your crush, knew
that she had a boyfriend but still forcing your feelings
on her.
Depression: Break-up with your girlfriend.
Good depression: You get lonely when your girlfriend is
sad
31. “A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by
sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.” (Proverbs
15:13 NKJV)
32.
33. Loneliness (Adam)
“And the LORD God said, “ It is not good that man should
be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and
he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh
in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken
from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to
the man.” (Genesis 2:18, 21-22 NKJV)
34. Insecurity (Jeremiah)
“Cursed be the day in which I was born! Let the day not be blessed
in which my mother bore me! Let the man be cursed Who brought
news to my father, saying, “A male child has been born to you!”
Making him very glad. And let that man be like the cities Which
the LORD overthrew, and did not relent; Let him hear the cry in
the morning And the shouting at noon, Because he did not kill me
from the womb, That my mother might have been my grave, And
her womb always enlarged with me.” (Jeremiah 20:14-17 NKJV)
35. Major events, loss of love ones,
poverty and disease (Job)
“Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that
there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who
fears God and shuns evil?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job
fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his
household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the
work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now,
stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse
You to Your face!” And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in
your power; only do not lay a hand on his person. ” So Satan went out from
the presence of the LORD.” (Job 1:8-12 NKJV)
37. “Better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to
the house of feasting, For that is the end of all men;
And the living will take it to heart. Sorrow is better
than laughter, For by a sad countenance the heart is
made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of
mourning, But the heart of fools is in the house of
mirth.” (Ecclesiastes 7:2-4 NKJV)
38. “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches,
in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s
sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (II
Corinthians 12:10 NKJV)
39. ““Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the
kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For
they shall be comforted.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’
sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew
5:3-4, 10 NKJV)
40. Suffering for God's cause (Daniel)
“In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks.
I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my
mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole
weeks were fulfilled.” (Daniel 10:2-3 NKJV)
41. Sin (David)
“Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil
in Your sight— That You may be found just when You
speak, And blameless when You judge.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a
contrite heart— These, O God, You will not
despise.” (Psalms 51:4, 17 NKJV)
42. Feeling of abandonment (David)
“How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face
from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart
daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? Consider and hear me, O LORD
my God; Enlighten my eyes, Lest I sleep the sleep of death; Lest my enemy say, “I
have prevailed against him”; Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
But I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will
sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.” (Psalms 13:1-6 NKJV)
“You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your
book?” (Psalms 56:8 NKJV)
43. Regret (Peter)
“And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter
remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to
him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three
times.” So Peter went out and wept bitterly.” (Luke
22:61-62 NKJV)
44. Suffering for the furtherance of the
Kingdom of Christ (Paul)
“Are they ministers of Christ?—I speak as a fool—I am
more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above
measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.
From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus
one.” (II Corinthians 11:23-24 NKJV)
45. “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has
great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that
after you have done the will of God, you may receive
the promise:” (Hebrews 10:35-36 NKJV)
46. “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But
let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect
and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let
him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach,
and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no
doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and
tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will
receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man,
unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:2-8 NKJV)
47. God can use suffering as part of His divine plan to
strengthen a believer's life and to change the lives of
others for His glory
48. “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time
are not worthy to be compared with the glory which
shall be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18 NKJV)
49. Love (Jesus)
“He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows
and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our
faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem
Him.” (Isaiah 53:3 NKJV)
50. “Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly
sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and
watch.”” (Mark 14:34 NKJV)
52. “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is
the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12 NKJV)
53. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23
NKJV)
54. “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to
salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the
world produces death.” (II Corinthians 7:10 NKJV)
55. “Good judgment wins favor, but the way of the
unfaithful leads to their destruction.” (Proverbs 13:15
NIV)
58. Rejection, Guilt and Hopelessness
(Judas)
“Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been
condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty
pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, “I
have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” And they
said, “What is that to us? You see to it! ” Then he threw
down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed,
and went and hanged himself.” (Matthew 27:3-5 NKJV)
59. Failure and Hopelessness (Ahitophel)
“Now when Ahithophel saw that his advice was not
followed, he saddled a donkey, and arose and went
home to his house, to his city. Then he put his household
in order, and hanged himself, and died; and he was
buried in his father’s tomb.” (II Samuel 17:23 NKJV)
60. Heartbreak, Betrayal and Vengeance
(Samson)
“Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, “O Lord GOD, remember me, I
pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with
one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” And
Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the
temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the
other on his left. Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!”
And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and
all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death
were more than he had killed in his life.” (Judges 16:28-30 NKJV)
61. Is Suicide a sin?
Depression is not a sin.
What leads to depression may be because of a sin. And what we do
about it can be a sin. (Not taking care of self, not seeking
assistance, not seeking God and choosing a worldly solution to our
problem (drugs, lust of flesh, suicide).
Suicide is.
Exodus 20:13
63. Will we be condemned to hell if we
committed suicide?
While salvation cannot be taken back from us by God.
Suicide is still a sin and only God can judge us in His
second coming. (2 Cor. 5:10)
65. Eternal life
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 NKJV)
66. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and
that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,” (Ephesians
2:8 NKJV)
67. “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace
with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom
also we have access by faith into this grace in which we
stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not
only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that
tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance,
character; and character, hope. Now hope does not
disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in
our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to
us.” (Romans 5:1-5 NKJV)
68. “But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed
the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not
have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is
in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is
life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him
who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who
raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your
mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in
you.” (Romans 8:9-11 NKJV)
70. “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful?
Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the
elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with
oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick,
and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will
be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one
another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a
righteous man avails much.” (James 5:13-16 NKJV)
“Rejoice always, Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies.
Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of
evil.” (I Thessalonians 5:16, 19-22 NKJV)
71. How to overcome depression, the
Jesus way?
By praying to God
By repenting for our sins
By pressing on
By doing good and not sinning
By walking in the Spirit
By performing the great commandment
By thinking positive
By trusting God
By delighting ourselves to God
By praising and proclaiming God's majesty
By being grateful to God.
By taking heart
72. By praying to God
What do we need to pray about?
1. To increase our faith.
2. To express ourselves to God,
3. To confess our sins.
4. To overcome temptation.
5. To give thanks.
6. To be sanctified by God.
7. To do impossible things.
73. “And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His
sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to
the ground.” (Luke 22:44 NKJV)
74. “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when
you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will
have them.” (Mark 11:24 NKJV)
75. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer
and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests
be made known to God;” (Philippians 4:6 NKJV)
76. 1. To increase our faith
“And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the
roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey
you.” (Luke 17:5-6 NKJV)
77. 2. To express ourselves to God.
This includes expressing our deepest regrets, grief,
frustrations, resentments and desire.
“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud
voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My
God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”” (Matthew
27:46 NKJV)
78. “He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and
prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass
from Him. And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are
possible for You. Take this cup away from Me;
nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.
”” (Mark 14:35-36 NKJV)
79. “I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a
horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon
a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song
in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and
fear, And will trust in the LORD.” (Psalms 40:1-3 NKJV)
80. 3. To confess our sins
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9 NKJV)
81. 4. To overcome temptation
“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The
spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is
weak.”” (Matthew 26:41 NKJV)
“And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from
the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power
and the glory forever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:13 NKJV)
82. 5. To give thanks
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made
for all men,” (I Timothy 2:1 NKJV)
83. 6. To be sanctified by God,
“Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and
more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what
commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification:
that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his
own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know
God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord
is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. (I Thessalonians 4:1-6 NKJV)
“but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy,
for I am holy.”” (I Peter 1:15-16 NKJV)
“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.” (John 17:17,
19 NKJV)
84. 7. To do impossible things
“So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for
assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard
seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to
there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible
for you.” (Matthew 17:20 NKJV)
85. By repenting for our sins
“From that time Jesus began to preach and to say,
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at
hand.”” (Matthew 4:17 NKJV)
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins
may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may
come from the presence of the Lord,” (Acts 3:19 NKJV)
86. “Now there were some present at that time who told
Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed
with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, “Do you think that
these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other
Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no!
But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those
eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them
—do you think they were more guilty than all the others
living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent,
you too will all perish.”” (Luke 13:1-5 NIV)
87. Jesus empathized the fact that we live in a world full
of sin and its effects; therefore everyone must repent.
88. By pressing on
Forget those things which are behind.
Reach to those things which are ahead.
Press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call
of God in Christ Jesus.
Continuing with our faith and daily living.
89. “Not that I have already attained, or am already
perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that
for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended;
but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are
behind and reaching forward to those things which are
ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the
upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12-14
NKJV)
90. “Then as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an
angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat.” Then
he looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on
coals, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank, and lay
down again. And the angel of the LORD came back the
second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat,
because the journey is too great for you.” So he arose, and
ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food
forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain
of God.” (I Kings 19:5-8 NKJV)
91. “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as
though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you
partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be
glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are
you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is
blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a
murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. Yet if
anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in
this matter. For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if
it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of
God? Now “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the
sinner appear?” Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit
their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.” (I Peter 4:12-19 NKJV)
92. By doing good and not sinning
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of
God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable
service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you
may prove what is that good and acceptable and
perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2 NKJV)
93. “Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do
not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your
shame.” (I Corinthians 15:34 NKJV)
94. “Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we
brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can
carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with
these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich
fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish
and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and
perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of
evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their
greediness, and pierced themselves through with many
sorrows.” (I Timothy 6:6-10 NKJV)
95. By walking in the Spirit
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts
against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another,
so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not
under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of
wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and
the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who
practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against
such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and
desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited,
provoking one another, envying one another.” (Galatians 5:16-26 NKJV)
96. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on
the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the
devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual
hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of
God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to
stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the
breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of
the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be
able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of
salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always
with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all
perseverance and supplication for all the saints—” (Ephesians 6:10-18 NKJV)
97. By performing the great
commandment
“Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God
with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all
your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as
yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the
Law and the Prophets.”” (Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV)
98. ““As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in
My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide
in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s
commandments and abide in His love. “These things I
have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you,
and that your joy may be full. This is My
commandment, that you love one another as I have
loved you.” (John 15:9-12 NKJV)
99. “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the
greatest of these is love.” (I Corinthians 13:13 NKJV)
100. By thinking positive
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever
things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever
things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever
things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there
is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The
things which you learned and received and heard and saw
in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with
you.” (Philippians 4:8-9 NKJV)
101. “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for
tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough
trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:34 NIV)
102. By trusting God
You cannot fully trust someone if you do not know him. To fully trust God is to know Him completely.
1. For His provision (Jehovah Jireh)
2. For His companionship (Jehovah Shammah)
3. For His guidance (Jehovah Raah)
4. For His comfort (Jehovah Shalom)
5. For His solution (El Roi)
6. For His divine healing (Jehovah Rapha)
7. For His protection and for the victory against the enemy (Jehovah Sabaoth)
103. “And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand
still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will
accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see
today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will
fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” And the LORD
said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of
Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out
your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of
Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the
sea.” Exodus 14:13-16 NKJV
104. 1. For His Provision (Jehovah Jireh)
““Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will
drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more
than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into
barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of
you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing?
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you
that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the
grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much
more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’
or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles
seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the
kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do
not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the
day is its own trouble.” (Matthew 6:25-34 NKJV)
105. 2. For His companionship (Jehovah Shammah)
“And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He
will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you;
do not fear nor be dismayed.”” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NKJV)
“The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.” (Psalms 34:18
NKJV)
106. 3. For His guidance (Jehovah Raah)
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will
send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring
to your remembrance all things that I said to
you.” (John 14:26 NKJV)
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness,” (II Timothy 3:16 NKJV)
107. “And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of
cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to
give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not
take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire
by night from before the people.” (Exodus 13:21-22
NKJV)
108. 4. For His comfort (Jehovah Shalom)
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and
learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and
you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy
and My burden is light.”” (Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV)
109. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our
tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any
trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by
God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation
also abounds through Christ. Now if we are afflicted, it is for your
consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same
sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your
consolation and salvation. And our hope for you is steadfast, because
we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will
partake of the consolation.” (II Corinthians 1:3-7 NKJV)
110. “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the
morning.” (Psalms 30:5 NKJV)
111. 6. For His divine healing
“He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of
righteousness For His name’s sake.” (Psalms 23:3 NKJV)
112. “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am
your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I
will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” (Isaiah
41:10 NKJV)
113. “Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I
shall be saved, For You are my praise.” (Jeremiah 17:14
NKJV)
114. “And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your
faith has made you well. Go in peace.”” (Luke 8:48 NKJV)
115. 5. For His solution (El Roi)
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on
your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge
Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in
your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. It
will be health to your flesh, And strength to your
bones.” (Proverbs 3:5-8 NKJV)
116. “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their
strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and
not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)
118. “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is
common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow
you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with
the temptation will also make the way of escape, that
you may be able to bear it.” (I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV)
119. 7. For His protection and victory against the enemy (Jehovah
Sabaoth)
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee
from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts,
you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your
laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift
you up.” (James 4:7-10 NKJV)
120. “And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of
what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’
sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats,
nor be troubled.” But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts,
and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks
you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and
fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as
evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be
ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for
doing good than for doing evil.” (I Peter 3:13-17 NKJV)
121. “And he said, "Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of
Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to
you, 'Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this
great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's.” (2
Chronicles 20:15 ESV)
122. By delighting ourselves to the Lord
“Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and
feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the
LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He
shall bring it to pass.” (Psalms 37:3-5 NKJV)
123. “And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of
the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a
messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above
measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three
times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My
grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in
weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my
infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs,
in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am
weak, then I am strong.” (II Corinthians 12:7-10 NKJV)
124. By praising and proclaiming God's
majesty
“Sing aloud to God our strength; Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob.
Raise a song and strike the timbrel, The pleasant harp with the lute. Blow
the trumpet at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our solemn
feast day. For this is a statute for Israel, A law of the God of Jacob. This He
established in Joseph as a testimony, When He went throughout the land
of Egypt, Where I heard a language I did not understand. “I removed his
shoulder from the burden; His hands were freed from the baskets. You
called in trouble, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of
thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah” (Psalms 81:1-7 NKJV)
125. By being grateful to God and others.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything
give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
for you.” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV)
126.
127. By taking heart
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a
cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the
sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with
endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that
was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame,
and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of
God.” (Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV)
129. How did Hannah manage her
depression?
By praying
“And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and
wept in anguish. Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts,
if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and
remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give
Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all
the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.”” (I
Samuel 1:10-11 NKJV)
130. Hannah was comforted by the priest
“Then Eli answered, "Go in peace, and the God of Israel
grant your petition that you have made to him." And
she said, "Let your servant find favor in your eyes."
Then the woman went her way and ate, and her face
was no longer sad.” (1 Samuel 1:17-18 ESV)
131. God's reward for Hannah's
faithfulness
“Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped
before the LORD, and returned and came to their house
at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the
LORD remembered her. So it came to pass in the process
of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and
called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked
for him from the LORD.”” (I Samuel 1:19-20 NKJV)
132. How did Job manage his depression?
Job praised God.
“Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he
fell to the ground and worshiped. And he said: “Naked I
came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return
there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away;
Blessed be the name of the LORD.” In all this Job did not sin
nor charge God with wrong.” (Job 1:20-22 NKJV)
133. Job did not sin.
“Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to
your integrity? Curse God and die!” But he said to her,
“You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we
indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept
adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.” (Job
2:9-10 NKJV)
134. Job expressed himself to God. Job wanted to die.
“After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.
“May the day perish on which I was born, And the night in which
it was said, ‘A male child is conceived.’ May that day be
darkness; May God above not seek it, Nor the light shine upon it.
“Why is light given to him who is in misery, And life to the bitter
of soul, Who long for death, but it does not come, And search for
it more than hidden treasures;” (Job 3:1, 3-4, 20-21 NKJV)
135. Job pressed on.
““Look, I go forward, but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;
When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the right
hand, I cannot see Him. But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I
shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and
not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have
treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food.” (Job 23:8-12 NKJV)
““I cry out to You, but You do not answer me; I stand up, and You regard me. But You
have become cruel to me; With the strength of Your hand You oppose me. You lift me
up to the wind and cause me to ride on it; You spoil my success. For I know that You
will bring me to death, And to the house appointed for all living.” (Job 30:20-23 NKJV)
136. Job repented for His sins.

137. Job was comforted by his friends
“Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this adversity that had come
upon him, each one came from his own place—Eliphaz the Temanite,
Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. For they had made an
appointment together to come and mourn with him, and to comfort
him. And when they raised their eyes from afar, and did not recognize
him, they lifted their voices and wept; and each one tore his robe and
sprinkled dust on his head toward heaven. So they sat down with him
on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to
him, for they saw that his grief was very great.” (Job 2:11-13 NKJV)
138. Job was instructed by God
““Shall the one who contends with the Almighty
correct Him? He who rebukes God, let him answer
it.”” (Job 40:2 NKJV)
139. God's reward for Job's obedience
“Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for
he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of
oxen, and one thousand female donkeys. He also had seven sons and three
daughters. And he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the
second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch. In all the land
were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their
father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. After this Job
lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren
for four generations. So Job died, old and full of days.” (Job 42:12-17 NKJV)

that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon
Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking
whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith,
knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your
brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who
called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have
suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (I
