ITCS Maria Lazzari is a technical business school located in Dolo, Italy near Venice and Padua. Students attend for 5 years, taking general courses for the first two years before choosing between 4 specialized courses in the third year. These courses are Business Information Systems, which focuses on IT and economics with English as the primary language; Tourism, which emphasizes languages including required English and options for Spanish, French, German or Russian along with art history; Administration Finance and Marketing, centered on economics with English and a second selectable language; and International Relations, a blend of the Tourism and Administration Finance and Marketing courses with a focus on economics, English, and two additional languages.

2. In Italy there is a three-stage system of education: primary from 6 to 11, middle
from 11 to 13 and high school from 14 to 19.
There are three types of high schools:
licei ( attended by “academic” students
who intend to go to university), technical
schools and vocational ones.
ITCS Maria Lazzari is a business technical school (half way between licei and
vocational school) situated in Dolo, a small town near Venice and Padua.

3. It’s a high school, so you have to
attend it for 5 years. Here the first
couple of years are the same for
everybody, then in the third year
you have to choose one of the four
courses.
They are: Business Information
Systems, Tourism, Administration
Finance and Marketing and
International Relations, which is the
course we are attending.

4. Business Information Systems (BIS): in this course the main subjects
are I.T. and Economics, the students study only one lenguage: English.

5. Tourism: in this course the main subjects are the languages, which are
three: English is obligatory and then you can choose among Spanish,
French, German and Russian. Another important subject is art history.

6. Administration Finance and Marketing (AFM): in this course the main
subject is Economics and two languages are studied, the first is English
and the second can be chosen.

7. International Relations: in this course the main subjects are Economics
and languages, which are three. This course is a mixture between
Tourism and AFM courses.
