The document outlines the 12 step process of how fossils are formed, including an animal dying and its bones being buried underwater, the flesh rotting away and bones being eaten by sea animals, holes forming that get filled with rocks, and paleontologists eventually digging up the fossilized bones and preserving them with plaster before displaying them in a museum. It was created by five students who each had a role in writing, typing, encouraging, or reading the document.
