7. Types of otitis media:
1) Acute otitis media:
Inflammation of middle ear with rapid onset ofsign
and symptoms mainly fever and otaglia(ear pain)
2) otitis media with effusion:
Fluid in the middle ear without symptoms
3) chronic otitis media:
Prolonged period and reoccurring of Infection

Age
Allergies
 Exposure to environmental smoking or other
respiratory irritant
 Family history
 Immunocompromised person
 No breast feeding
 Upper respiratory tract infection

 Tympanostomy: tubal placement in
recurrent chronic OM.
