Othello by Shakespeare
Topic: Othello by Shakespeare Since the times of Aristotle, Tragedy has been a prominent
genre of literature in the classical literature entirety and has been viewed as a traditional
hallmark in most grate literary works that have been publicized over centuries. As a
tradition, tragedy conforms to a certain pattern which Aristotle explains very well as
follows. The main protagonist, a grate man meets his demise or suffers a change of fortune
which sees him fall from grace to grass or from happiness to misery which in literary terms
is known as Harmatia. This is as a result of a simple mistaken act which reveals his flaw
‘ tragic flaw’ accompanied by a fall. Such kind of a story evokes feelings of pity (catharsis)
in the audience since the protagonist is not at an evil man hence his punishment is not fully
deserved. He is therefore elevated into the status of a tragic hero. This also evokes fear since
the audience now starts imagining being led in to a similar error. Shakespeare’ s tragedy
follows such kind of a configuration. This paper will hence demonstrate that ‘ Othello’ is
indeed an Aristotelian tragedy while at the same time giving evidence that Othello is a tragic
hero.………………………………………………………………………………………………Place an order with us to get a
