A PESTEL analysis or more recently named PESTELE is a framework or
tool used by marketers to analyze and monitor the macro-
environmental (external marketing environment) factors that have an
impact on an organization. The result of which is used to identify
threats and weaknesses which are used in a SWOT Analysis.
POLITICAL/LEGAL ENVIRONMENT
This environment is composed of laws, government agencies,
and pressure groups that influence and limit various
organizations and individuals in society.

The deteriorating condition of the natural environment is
a major issue facing business and the public.
• Shortage of raw materials
The earth’s materials consist of the infinite (air and water),
the finite renewable (forest and foods) and the finite non-
renewable (oil, coil, platinum, zinc, silver)
• Increased cost of energy
• Increased levels of pollution
