This document defines organization and discusses different views and approaches to organization. From an economic perspective, organization is seen as the fourth factor of production. Socially, an organization is viewed as a multi-agent system where tasks are divided and roles are assigned. The document also discusses organizing as a process, different organization structures, departmentation, and the differences between formal and informal organizations.
