This PPT is all about Fast Start Failover DataGuard and it will also helps you to easily understand basics of Fast Start Failover DataGuard in Oracle 12c.
in this PPT I have covered topics as below :
1.FSFO(Fast_Start Failover)
2.Dataguard
3.Types of Dataguard
4.Protection Modes
5.FSFO with physical Standby
6.Dataguard Broker
7.Observer Process.
This presentation addresses and tries to provide a reasonable answer to the rather common question: "Why should we still use an Oracle Database?", which more often than not is raised by management, but in the presence of more and more "alternative solutions", also by non-Oracle database administrators who are looking to solve a particular problem.
This is the first presentation of my "Oracle Fundamentals" presentation series.
Note that slide 35 (of 38) is outdated and should not have been included. Unfortunately, SlideShare does not allow for re-uploads anymore and hence, I will leave it in for now.
This presentation is based on Lawrence To's Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) Oracle Open World Presentation talking about the latest updates on high availability (HA) best practices across multiple architectures, features and products in Oracle Database 19c. It considers all workloads, OLTP, DWH and analytics, mixed workload as well as on-premises and cloud-based deployments.
The Amazing and Elegant PL/SQL Function Result CacheSteven Feuerstein
The Function Result Cache, introduced in Oracle Database 11g, offers a very elegant way to cache cross-session data and make it available via PL/SQL functions. It can have a dramatic performance impact on fetching static data (even static for just a period of time) - and it's managed automatically by Oracle Database for you!
In this tutorial, we cover the different deployment possibilities of the MySQL architecture depending on the business requirements for the data. We also deploy some architecture and see how to evolve to the next one.
The tutorial covers the new MySQL Solutions like InnoDB ReplicaSet, InnoDB Cluster, and InnoDB ClusterSet.
Oracle RAC 19c - the Basis for the Autonomous DatabaseMarkus Michalewicz
Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) has been Oracle's premier database availability and scalability solution for more than two decades as it provides near linear horizontal scalability without the need to change the application code. This session explains why Oracle RAC 19c is the basis for Oracle's Autonomous Database by introducing some of its latest features, some of which were specifically designed for ATP-D, as well as by taking a peek under the hood of the dedicated Autonomous Database Service (ATP-D).
Yuri is called to audit RMAN backup scripts on regular basis for several years now as part of his Day to Day duties. He see the same errors in scripts that Oracle DBAs using to backup critical databases over and over again. Those errors may play a significant role in a recovery process when you working under stress. During that presentation you will be introduced to typical issues and hints how to address those.
Tanel Poder - Performance stories from Exadata MigrationsTanel Poder
Tanel Poder has been involved in a number of Exadata migration projects since its introduction, mostly in the area of performance ensurance, troubleshooting and capacity planning.
These slides, originally presented at UKOUG in 2010, cover some of the most interesting challenges, surprises and lessons learnt from planning and executing large Oracle database migrations to Exadata v2 platform.
This material is not just repeating the marketing material or Oracle's official whitepapers.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
