Microsoft has been increasingly collaborating with open source communities and Linux vendors like SUSE. The Open Solutions Group at Microsoft works directly with customers and partners to develop unified solutions for mixed-source environments, including virtualizing Linux on Hyper-V, systems management of Linux, and supporting Linux in private and public clouds. Microsoft's alliance with SUSE aims to provide customers with choice, interoperability between Windows and Linux, and an open approach through shared development of cross-platform offerings.
