The document outlines a goal for the author to be able to comfortably run 5 miles. It establishes a plan to increase distance gradually from a current 3 mile route, running additional routes of 1 mile or less. It identifies positive factors like a running store and sister for support and routes, and negative factors like weather dependence without a gym. The plan is deemed realistic and the author believes regular running will help achieve the goal.
“I want to be a profitable trader”.
Alright, that’s a goal that is stated by 99% of those entering the trading world. How will you do it?
Most use the “wash, rinse, repeat” style of education where they hop from one trading system to another. The goal never changes but the system they are using does and it is usually a dead end road with most giving up. It is a haphazard approach at best.

2. Specific: I want to be able to run 5 miles comfortably. Measurable:EverydayI will set out to run my normal 3 mile route and if I feel more comfortable I can increase my distance with routes that I have found to be 1 mile or less so I don't over work myself if I can't run anymore. Attainable: I believe that I can do this because I am starting to be able to run my 3 mile route comfortably and can consistantly run it is a fairly quick pace. If I keep running at this rate I will be able to run 5 miles which will be a big achievement, but whether or not I will be able to run it comfortably is another thing. SMART Goal
3. Realistic: This is realistic because I know and have realized that the more I run, the easier it gets and feel that I will be able to achieve my goal hopefully sometime soon. Time: I will be running at least 2 miles every day and if I can run more then I know of 1 mile routes around my house where I end my run. I know of a 1 mile loop, 2 mile loop, and 3 mile loop so I can control the distance I run every day. SMART Goal continued
4. I have been running for a few months now and I know my limits as far as how much I can run and when it’s time to quit. I also know where my routes are around where I live which make it easier to track how much I am running and in the end become a stronger runner. Predisposing Factors
5. Positive-I have a running store downtown so I can get properly fitted for shoes and whatever else I may need to achieve my goal. Negative-I don’t have a gym membership so the weather always plays a role in whether or not running conditions are safe. Enabling Factors
6. My sister is also an active runner so she can help me with finding different routes to challenge my capabilities. My dad supports me running and maintaining a healthy lifestyle at home and when I’m at school. Reinforcing Factors
7. Weather is the only thing that can stop me from achieving my goal as fast as I want to. The amount of homework I get from my classes is the only other factor which could slow down my process of achievement. Barriers?
8. I have a running specialty store in town where they can help me get fitted for the proper running shoe and whatever else I may need to achieve my goal. A friend of mine runs often and knows of routes around my area that I may not already know of so that could be helpful. Resources
10. Yes, I was successful at reaching my goal because I kept running consistently and kept adding on distance consistently. I will continue to run my new 5 mile route and maybe start to increase distance even farther but not untill I can run this route with ease. Did I reach my goal?
