This document is a project report for an online examination system submitted by Pranjal Saikia. The system allows for multiple choice question exams to be administered online, making the process more convenient and reducing paperwork. It benefits administrators, faculty and students by enabling exams to be taken anytime from any location. Key features include security, ease of use, reliability, and not requiring exam proctors. The system manages student details, question papers, scores and more through a web interface. • Online Examination system (OLES) is a Multiple
Choice Questions (MCQ) based examination system.
• Online Exam is a web based custom Online
Examination Management system.
• Easy to use for Administrators, Faculties, and
students.
• Online Examination can be conducted at any time.
• Online Exam maintaining records, score cards,
student details, question papers and so on is very
easily managed by the system.

8. Advantages Of Online Examination
• Physical presence at a given location is absolutely not necessary
• No time is spent on evaluation
• Results are available instantly
• The time of starting and completion of examination can be
recorded at the server and the student cannot manipulate the
same.
• Almost all competitive exams are multiple choice types question
and these can be easily conducted by online.
• Can be easily accessed 24/7 over the open test period

10. Limitation of Project
There are already many Online Examination
System and they are directly launching their
own web sites which can be accessed by the
users. The limitation of this project is that it
runs on a single server within the education
institute or corporate world but not over
internet. An Intranet application can provide
much better security.

the services.
• Limited to HTTP or HTTPS.
• This system is working for single server.

15. Conclusion
This Web Application provides facility to
conduct online examination worldwide. It saves
time as it allows number of students to give the
exam at a time and displays the results as the test
gets over, so no need to wait for the result. It is
automatically generated by the server.
Administrator has to create, modify and
delete the test papers and its particular question.
User can register, login and give the test with his
specific id, and can see the results as well.

16. Future work
Developments in software technology are
continuing dynamically. This has forced
developers to look for new approaches to design
and development. In order to face this situation,
the modules in a package should be upgraded
any time. The modules in this package can be
subjected to further enhancements. Such as
• Developed discussion forums.
• Implementation on clouds server.
• Multimedia feature supports.
• Integrate learning material.
