From my work in China, I knew
really big shifts were underway
A chance conversation with a physicist in
1992 pointed me to the power of open
source software development
In 1993, it was pretty clear that we were at
the beginning of a really big transition
between hierarchical and network thinking

make space research
more productive?
• When Elizabeth Taylor was given the responsibility of convening
both the Space Biology Program and the Human Research Program to
look for points of intersection and collaboration, she turned to
Strategic Doing. 
• In the space of a couple of days in the heart of Silicon Valley in
California, she and her team guided conversations that led to the
launch of several complex collaborations, and perhaps even more
valuable, an on-going conversation about progress and what should
be accomplished next.

  • 10. 10 Strategic Doing enables people to form action-oriented collaborations quickly, move them toward measurable outcomes, and make adjustments along the way.
