This document discusses Lean, Six Sigma, and Lean Six Sigma approaches to mapping production. Lean aims to increase productivity by eliminating waste like excess imagery and improving speed and quality. Six Sigma uses a DMAIC process to decrease defects by defining metrics, measuring performance, analyzing sources of errors, improving processes, and controlling quality. Lean Six Sigma integrates these methods to achieve better results than either alone. For mapping production, Lean Six Sigma could help by engaging people, defining appropriate metrics, and analyzing sources of errors and waste to continuously improve processes and quality.
