deliver the org mandate.

ASSISTANT STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER KRA COMPETENCE DEFINITION LEVEL WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR Maintain staff development records and generate reports in the division Record and information management. The efficient and systematic control of the creation, receipt, maintenance, use and disposal of records in order to support government operations to enhance accountability, transparency and good governance and to facilitate timely and informed decision making. 1  Must be organized and creative.  Must be good at communication.  Must understand the color coding of official files  Must understand the use of black and red minutes  Must know how to keep documents safe and retrieve tem easily.  Must understand the role of the registries.  Must be able to use the transit ladder on the files for communication purposes Develop, maintain, update a data base of training programme available to staff in line with staff development policy. Information Communication Technology (ICT) The appropriate use of computers, computer software and other modern IT facilities to convert, store, protect, process, transmit and retrieve information 1  Must be computer literate  Must demonstrate basic computer skills like Ms office applications, electronic mail system etc  Must be able to use existing technology to collect, organize, catalogue and classify and disseminate information  Must be able to apply LAN $ WAN Plan ,arrange and monitor staff training and development workshops, seminar in line with the staff development policy Planning, Organizing and Coordinating Involves proactively planning, establishing and allocating resources. It is expressed by developing and implementing increasingly complex plans. It also involves monitoring, evaluating and adjusting work to accomplish goals and deliver the org mandate. Organization’s mandate. 3  Must be able plan allocation of staff ,funds, tools and facilitates  Must be able to develop implement work for complex projects.  Must demonstrate a strong understanding of relationships among the various components of programs and organize them to use resources most effectively  Must be able to build capacity through couching counseling, rewards reinforcement of positive behavior and effective design of planning systems

Develop, update and produce induction course material and coordinate orientation programs for staff in line with HR policies Coaching and mentoring Involves the genuine intent to foster learning or development of others through expressing a positive regard for an individual’s capacity to learn. The objective is to encourage others, transfer knowledge, develop skills and /or develop the understanding of the individual. 3  Must be able arrange increasingly complex learning opportunities for the purpose of fostering learning.  Must seek to develop expertise, skills or knowledge in the individual being coached to the point that coach is longer need as a resource Perform any other duty as may be assigned by supervisor Team work The desire and ability to work co-operatively and collaboratively as opposed to competitively within an organization. It involves contributing fully and actively to team activities, projects and client initiatives to achieve group and organizational goals 2  Must be able to keep team members informed and up to date.  Must share knowledge and experience with team members.  Must promote cooperation among team members  Must be able praise team members for achievement.  Must be able to coach teams whenever necessary.

What colors codes did you use? How did you use the transit ladder on the files? Describe the role of registries in this process.  Describe how you would develop a data base using Linux operating systems.  Under what circumstances would you use the LAN as opposed to WAN?  Tell us about a time when you organized a workshop or seminar targeting more than 10pple or staff.  What would you need to put in place to ensure successful coaching?  Describe a time when you conducted a counseling session. 75 35 minutes
