My role as an eldest
daughter had many
responsibilities,
from an early age I
was taught:
cooking, cleaning,
sewing, doing
household shopping
and taking care of
younger siblings.
3. TOUR HOSTESS
My role as a tour
hostess allowed me to
Travel. Meeting a
variety of people from
around the world. I
loved this role.
4. AIRLINE RESERVATIONS AGENT
A very pressured
job, can’t say I
enjoyed this role,
(not occupationally
satisfied). The good
thing was I
travelled free of
charge, and made
lots of contacts.
5. WIFE
My life changed when
I took on the role as a
wife. Transitioning
from being single to
married was scary in
the beginning.
6. MOTHERHOOD
My son Frederick (in
white) was born in 1987
and Eugene (in blue) in
1988, became a full time
mum from 1987 to 1993.
7. TRAVEL AGENT
My role as a Travel Agent,
travelled a lot in the six years that I
worked for the travel agency as part
of doing familiarisation trips.
Learnt a great deal about
the world.
8. HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM TUTOR
My role as a Hospitality
Tutor Started in 1996 till
2010. I loved teaching it was
my life, very satisfied with
this role.
9. DENTAL ASSISTANT
Trained at Otago
Polytechnic in
conjunction with
New Zealand
Dental Association
and worked for
Otago University
and Southern
District Health
Board as a Dental
Assistant.
10. VOLUNTEER
My role as a
volunteer at
English
language
Partners and
Volunteering
Otago.
11. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY STUDENT
Being a student is
part of being in
the Occupational
Therapy School.
This includes
socialising,
assignments,
studies, fieldwork
placements and
doing
assessments to be
a future
Occupational
Therapist.

A very pressured job, can’t say I enjoyed this role, (not occupationally satisfied). The good thing was I travelled free of charge, and made lots of contacts.
