We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as ādistorted thinkingā.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasnāt one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

1. Reflection on Observation Essay
Observation Analysis Molley Green MTE 506 September 29th, 2012 Shawn Wells Observation
Analysis Observing a classroom has a certain metaphysical edge. Merely by your presence and
watching, you cannot help but feel that you are somehow changing or influencing the class and the
students that make it up. My observations took place in two settings, the first and my primary
observation source, was at Children's Garden Montessori School in El Cerrito, my daughter's school,
it is a private preāschool with children ages two to five. My second observation was the Fit Kids
program at my local Berkeley YMCA, this program was created for...show more content...
In this stage students are learning how to be moral, intellectually curious, and independent. The
third plane, from twelve to eighteen years is a psychologically unstable place where the
adolescent is trying to form the person they will be as they enter into society. This period is
creative, but students also express difficulty in concentration as they try to relate to peer groups
and the outside world, to find self esteem and define who they are. The fourth plane is when a
student enters the world and hopefully becomes a social aware and monetarily successful member
of society. To Maria Montessori her final and real goal was a student population that graduated her
program with a sense that they had a duty to society, to be strong moral leaders and increase peace.
Teachers, she said, "must set a good example if there is to be a good humanity"(Montessori, 1949).
Although the philosophy of Montessori education intersects greatly with progressivism, the schools
were often placed at odds with one another. A contemporary, collaborator, and student of John
Dewey, William Kilpatrick, orchestrated a series of lectures and writings that discounted
Montessori's teaching philosophy as egocentric and restrictive. He said that the learning materials
created hindered the imagination of the teacher and the emphasis on the individual would lead to an
entire generation of illābehaved egomaniacs (Shortridge, 2007). His critiques in combination with

2. Personal Observation
Two basic examples I have provided in past lectures. 1) After completing the daily observation
mission we were heading back to the city of Pristina in Kosovo. We noticed a very nice hillside
house smoking and stopped to observe. Two paramilitary serbians ran from the property with two
large cans as the house became engulfed in flames. They entered their vehicles and left the area.
Our observation was two paramilitary soldiers burned down the albanian land owners property. The
russian report was two serbian officers ran to the house to help any victoms, was unable to
extinguixh the fire with limited water supply, called for assitance and left the area to respond
elswhere. The second example that bothers me to this day was an event involving

The purpose of this assignment is to examine an aspect of one child's development based on a series
of observations you have made. In addition to informing your own understanding of development
and learning, you can also consider how your findings can help you to identify ways of supporting
the child's development.
Abstract
This report will look at Observations within a Haringey Early Years setting and on one Child. I will
make five various observations over a period of time. I will examine the observations through
elements of her development and learning's and how my findings can support this learning. I will
also discuss and analysis the observation techniques focusing on theoretical theories and I will focus

Article 13 children have the right to share and receive information as long as the information is not
damaging to them. Article 16 (Right of privacy) Children have the right to privacy. The law should
protect the child's, family and family home. (Unisef.org)
When considering observations, they should be skilful and well planned; though it suggests
'That practitioners should document children's progress and performance in writing, photographs
and/or on video/audio tape.' (SirajāBlatchford, 2002)
Children are observed in a number of situations to gain a holistic view of their development.
Observations can be planned or spontaneous. There are two types of observation types, participant
and nonāparticipant.
Participant observation are carried out while you are playing and working with a child, spontaneous
are where you would notice something happening which shows an interest, and some will be planned
(nonāparticipant) with there are no interaction and practitioners will stand back and observe.
Within the nonāparticipant observations this includes narrative, check list tracking, target child and
timeāsampling. Narrative observations are common observation techniques used within early year
settings. Narrative observations were chosen based on the detailed information that can be taken
through a timescales. This type of observation is common within the setting as a written record of an
event. As this method records everything from a child's emotion, dialogue

4. Social Observation Essay
We live in a society that is filled with many different people from so many backgrounds, but there
is a limited number of social classes. There are stereotypes about the people in each of the and
some meet those stereotypes, but can you tell just from observing people what class they belong to.
After observing two different people, I assumed what class there are a part of based on appearance
and actions.
The first person I observed I assumed to be a part of the middle class. This person was a woman
dining with a man, that I assume to be her husband. Both her and the man were white, and looked
like they both were in their fifties. Though I would put both of in that age range, I believe that he
was a few years older than her. She of average height and on the thinner side when it came to
weight. Her hair was cut short, a longer pixie cut, had golden blonde highlights through her
copper hair, and was styled nicely. From experience, I would say that her hair does not take too
much time, but she would have to take some time to style every day. Which means, that she
would own a fair amount of hair products whether a straightener or spray/gel products. Even with
the assumption of her owning hair products, it did not appear to be the same with makeup; she
either had a very small amount on or none at all. Continuing with what is on her face, the woman
wore dark, smaller glasses. The frames had a small design on the sides, so I believe that they are a
bit pricey for glasses. Her eyes

Objectives
The purpose of this observation assignment was to investigate and interpret the different types of
interactions between the individuals and groups present, as well as the environment in which these
interactions take place. The various power relationships and sense of hierarchy in addition to the
status and authority among the different individuals are also extremely pertinent to this assignment,
as the dissection of such interactions and relationships may implicate certain socially constructed
gender roles placed on these individuals and society as a whole. The field observation was
conducted at the restaurant Pancakes on the Rocks in Sydney. The role adopted, was that of observer
as participant. Group structures and...show more content...

The seemingly intimate couples observed were quite interesting. Instead of being seated opposite
each other, most couples chose to sit next to each other so as to be within closer proximity of one
another. The couples that did sit opposite each other spent much of their time bent over or leaning
across the table so as to whisper or talk in a more secretive and intimate manner with their partner.
The observed body language of these couples was that of an inclusive "please do not bother us"
attitude. Their behavior compared to the rest of the occupants in the restaurant was very subdued
and much more private. The amount of bodily contact was also much greater than in other groups of
participants. Other than their initial glances around the restaurant when they were first seated,
almost none of the couples made a habit of surveying the restaurant, as were observed quite
frequently with the other members of the study. Also noted was the tendency for the females within
the youngerāadult relationships to take leave to the toilet almost as soon as the couple was seated.
In some cases, the male ordered the female's drink while she was still in the toilet. Almost always,
no matter the age of the couple, alcoholic beverages were preferred to order. During the meal the
couples were much more inclined to share food as well, picking at each other's food. The cases in
