3. INTRODUCTION
Physical Education as part of the educational system strives to
help or facilitate the development of the potentialities of the
individual, physical education does not focus only on the
physical outcomes of varied activities but also on the
development and acquisition of knowledge and attitudes
necessary for lifelong learning and lifespan participation.

6. Physical Development- Through carefully
selected physical education activities, an
individual who participates actively will
develop and maintain good health and a
high level of physical fitness. The
acquisition of physical skills can motivate
an individual to participate further in
physical activities. Hence his growth and
development will be enhanced.
7. Mental Development- the individual
develops his mental capacities as he
learns the mechanical principles
underlying movement, as he
acquires knowledge and
understanding of rules and
strategies of games and sports.

objective responsible for developing or controlling
various emotions like fear, joy pleasure, hope,
anger etc.Refers to the ability to recognize,
express, and manage feelings at different stages
of life and to have empathy for the feelings of
others. By participating in various physical
activities an individual starts having control over
his/her emotions.

development of inner self and soul.
