3. Decision making
• PDHPE content demonstrates appropriate strategies for
children to become responsible and effective decision makers
• Students are encouraged to develop informed decision making
skills which they are able to carry out in all aspects of their lives
• It is also important to encourage children to increase their
knowledge on all options available to them

4. Physical Activity
• PDHPE equips children with the knowledge to recognize the
importance of physical activity and encourages the implementation of
being physically active in their daily routines
• Encouraging physical activity supports the quality of life of students
• Participation is made to be a fun, exciting and different from
traditional teaching methods
• Students are able to express sporting abilities and build their self
esteem

5. Understanding and valuing of self and others
• PDHPE enables good communication skills, positive attitudes
and healthy relationships. Value and understanding of ones self
