 Purpose: to gather basic information of LGBTQ ERGs
in North Texas, understand their basic operating
parameters, to understand their perspective on
internal diversity of their organizations, and to learn
more about their programming initiatives, strengths,
lessons, and challenges.
 Function: who are we, what are our strengths and
challenges, and how can we help each other improve
workplace equity? How can we tell our story as a
sector of LGBTQ volunteerism and social organizing?
 Limits: sample size- effective -but not complete

innovative ways to diversify their organization and keep
momentum growing
We are collaborating with the major LGBTQ nonprofits in
North Texas and have significant relationships with service
organizations and with educational partners

LGBTQ ERGs in North Texas represent a wide range in size,
capacity, successes, struggles, and approaches
We are drawing energy, inspiration, resources from our
leaders, our members, and our organizations towards a cause
we know is essential
We are aware of the diversity gaps and opportunities, we want
to learn and grow more
Preliminary Take-aways (Cont’d)
 We have a great desire to support other community causes, and have found
different challenges, opportunities, and partners in achieving this
 We have all worked hard at keeping our membership and employee bases
engaged and inspired about the cause of workplace equity, and have each
found unique ways to achieve this, within a voluntary organizational framework
 NTC has veteran and novice partners, and levels between. There are also many
more ERGs either currently forming, or that need to form
 There are more data points of interest not covered in the survey
In Conclusion …
…We have much to learn from each other,
much we can achieve together, and for the
NTC, the conversation is just beginning…

Survey Overview  23 Questions, multiple choice and fill in the blank  14 responses  Purpose: to gather basic information of LGBTQ ERGs in North Texas, understand their basic operating parameters, to understand their perspective on internal diversity of their organizations, and to learn more about their programming initiatives, strengths, lessons, and challenges.  Function: who are we, what are our strengths and challenges, and how can we help each other improve workplace equity? Preliminary Take-aways (Cont’d)  We have a great desire to support other community causes, and have found different challenges, opportunities, and partners in achieving this  We have all worked hard at keeping our membership and employee bases engaged and inspired about the cause of workplace equity, and have each found unique ways to achieve this, within a voluntary organizational framework  NTC has veteran and novice partners, and levels between. There are also many more ERGs either currently forming, or that need to form  There are more data points of interest not covered in the survey
  • 21. In Conclusion … …We have much to learn from each other, much we can achieve together, and for the NTC, the conversation is just beginning…
