There are four types of nouns: concrete nouns which can be experienced by the senses, abstract nouns which name ideas and qualities, proper nouns which are capitalized names of specific people, places or things, and collective nouns which name groups. Common nouns are general names while proper nouns are specific capitalized names.

There are FOUR different kinds of nouns: Concrete (common), Proper, Abstract,

1. Concrete (common) nouns are nouns that can be touched, heard, seen, smelled
or tasted. Ex: blueberry, dog, feather, thunder, chocolate, rainbow.

2. Abstract nouns are nouns that name an idea, feeling, quality, or characteristic.
Ex: freedom, beauty, humor, greed, happiness, fear.

3. Proper Nouns are nouns that name a specific person place or thing, and are
ALWAYS capitalized.
4. A Collective Noun is a word that names a group of people or things. Ex:
committee, team, family, group, class, trio, flock, herd, murder, pack
