It comprises of Eight states:
Initially it had the seven states:
 Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh ;
combinedly known as SEVEN SISTERS OF INDIA
Latter Sikkim became also the part of Northeast
 Sikkim is known as the ONLY BROTHER of Northeast India.

 Only part of India where Mughal Empire could not conquer
 There is No Dowry culture in entire Northeast
 Mawlynlong (Meghalaya) is the cleanest village in Entire Asia

 Only Matrilineal system in the country found in Northeast
