North Korea Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of North Korea can be a challenging endeavor due to the complex
nature of the subject matter. The political, historical, and cultural intricacies surrounding North
Korea make it a multifaceted topic that requires in-depth research and analysis.
To begin with, understanding the historical context of the Korean Peninsula, the division
between North and South Korea, and the events leading to the establishment of the Democratic
People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is crucial. This involves delving into the aftermath of World
War II, the Korean War, and the ideological foundations of the North Korean regime.
Furthermore, addressing the contemporary geopolitical situation involving North Korea adds
another layer of difficulty. The country's isolationist policies, nuclear ambitions, and strained
relations with neighboring nations create a dynamic landscape that demands careful examination.
Analyzing the impact of international sanctions, diplomatic efforts, and the role of global actors
in the region further complicates the task.
Moreover, discussing the human rights situation within North Korea, including issues such as
censorship, political repression, and the challenges faced by its citizens, requires a sensitive and
well-informed approach. Balancing the portrayal of the regime with the experiences of the North
Korean people is essential for a comprehensive understanding.
Crafting a coherent and well-structured essay on North Korea also involves navigating through a
plethora of sources, ranging from academic publications and official government statements to
news articles and firsthand accounts. Distinguishing between reliable information and
propaganda can be a formidable challenge, adding an extra layer of complexity to the research
process.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of North Korea demands a meticulous approach,
encompassing historical, political, and social dimensions. It requires a thorough understanding of
the subject matter, critical analysis of diverse sources, and the ability to present a balanced
perspective. For those who find the task overwhelming, it's worth considering seeking assistance
from professional writing services like HelpWriting.net, where a range of essays and more can
be ordered to meet specific academic needs.

Descriptive Power Of Nature
Deep in the mountains in the southwest corner of North Carolina is a river unlike any
other. Halfway through my perilous rafting journey, there was a moment when time
stood still. I witnessed a natural phenomenon which displayed the beauty of nature at
its finest. During that moment, I realized the insignificance of humanity, and why we
should respect the overwhelming power of nature. The Nantahala is a whitewater
river nestled in a valley with steep mountains flanking it on all sides. The forest it
was situated in is the only temperate rainforest east of the Mississippi River. The
rafting Industry has adopted this river as its premier destination. I was a 14 year
old Boy Scout on a three day camping trip in the Nantahala Gorge. The weather was
cloudy with periodic rain showers throughout the day and night. The temperature
was at the mid 80 s but never got above the 90 s. I was in a bright yellow raft shared
amongst five of my companions and a rafting Guide who went by the name Bones.
Bones was a Caucasian man with dreads in his hair, tattoos of paddles shaped as a
pirates cross on both of his arms, and was massively strong. We floated down the
river like leaves down a stream; constantly fighting to stay upright and not be cast
overboard by the restless aggression of the rapids. We were part of the way through a
two hour journey down the Nantahala river. It had rained continuously throughout the
trip, which meant we were soaked to the bone and fighting hypothermia.

Gloriavale Christian Traditions
Like Christians Gloriavale s key text and only sacred text they follow is The Bible,
however, it is only the Authorised King James version they follow. Because they
believe all other versions to be inferior and God s true words to be lost. This text
seems to be the most popular version of the Bible used throughout Christian
tradition. Their community is based on them simply reading the bible and obeying
it in aim to live a practical life that is found in their scripture. Because even in today

biblical principal that will guide them to the believed path of righteousness. From

However, I believe there is no harm or danger in the cult itself and with the actions set
in place to improve the community the chance of harm should become even less.
However, in saying that there is harm within the community which I believe does not
represent the community but it s simply these predators who are the threat.
Therefore, with the ongoing investigations into Gloriavale and the actions set in place
to improve the community they are fine as long as, these sexual predators are dealt

Essay on The Woman Warrior, by Maxine Hong Kingston
The theme of voiceless woman throughout the book the woman warrior is of great
importance. Maxine Kingston narrates several stories in which gives clear examples
on how woman in her family are diminished and silenced by Chinese culture. The
author not only provides a voice for herself but also for other women in her family
and in her community that did not had the opportunity to speak out and tell their
stories.
The author starts the book with the story of her aunt. This story was a well kept
family secret being that her aunt s actions were of great disappointment to the family.
The no name woman as the story names her, was forgotten by all her family because
she had a child that was not from her husband. This story gives a clear ... Show more

After so many years of being subjected by other people, she finally took her life into
her own hands and made an attempt to be happy.
According to the book, this woman gave birth to a baby which was a symbol of
embarrassment and humiliation not only for the villagers but for all the family.
Even though this baby did not have any notion of what was going on, she was still
a victim of Chinese norms. This baby also became forgotten being that she was not
given the opportunity to be alive. Kingston s aunt decision of killing the baby, had
to do greatly with the fact that she was girl. As the book states it was probably a
girl; there is some hope for forgiveness for boys . Without any doubt, if the baby
was given the opportunity to live she would have been mistreated and condemned all
her life. She would not have had the opportunity to developed her own identity or
raise her own voice .
Additionally, another example that implies that Kingston aunt had no voice is when
the author states, The work of preservation demands that the feelings playing about
in one s guts not to be turned into action. Just watch their passing like cherry
blossoms (Kingston 8). This sentence can be interpreted that a women s feelings
and wishes were not allowed to be turned into reality or to be expressed. On the
contrary, their feelings and wishes were only allowed to be kept to their selves as if
Baby Calves
For many centuries farmers and ranchers have taught us how to care for calves that
were just born. There wasn t much to the process except for tagging the calf and
writing down the records for it. Scours was really common for all babies to have
within three to four days of being born. Scours is a form a diarrhea for cattle, and it
can make them very sick and sometimes die. When calving out in the spring you
never know what the weather conditions will be, and pneumonia is very common for
the calves to catch. Scientist have been working hard for many years to figure out a
solution of decreasing scours and pneumonia, and with the two new medications the
chances have decreased tremendously. Pneumonia was a common sickness for all
calves to get... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first 12 hours of the Calf s life is critical for antibody absorption (First).
Veterinarians recommend you give the calf a tube within the first 12 hours of being
born. This will help get the best results and keep the calves strong and healthy
through the early ages of growing up. When giving them the gel, make sure to put it
far enough towards their throat as possible. This will make it easier for them to
swallow it and not spit it back out. The calves will try everything they can to not take

Christian Life And The Teachings Of The Bible
I have been participating in the Korean language class on Monday and Wednesday
from August 10 to now. Last Sunday, I participated in the 1st annual golden harvest
5k marathon. First, I d like to discuss the spiritual concepts/values from text that
relate to personal beliefs. I am a Christian since birth. So all I d like to talk about is
Christian life and the teachings of the bible. Throughout my whole life, I have
learned about spiritual things and what kind of spiritual things are in my ego. The
spiritual values that I always have is love, hope, and trust. Love is an element that
Christians value and have in their Christian mindand the bible says to love each
other. I am doing my best to understand this word throughout my whole life and it
is the reason why I chose my major Nursing. The dictionary meaning of love is an
intense feeling of deep affection or feel a deep romantic or sexual attachment to
someone. The bible states that Christian love is selfless and a giving love. I
realized something when I went to Africa for doing some volunteer work. I felt
what it meant to be selfless and what it was to give love through volunteering and
now I keep this in mind through my life too. The second value is hope. All of
religion is based on hope, just like forgiveness, and going to heaven and waiting for
God to give them something that they want. But in the bible it says, set your hope
fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of JesusChrist (Peter
Shortage Of Labor In High School
Construction is the industry that got us out of the recession says Kari Clark,
president of the homebuilding company Sharper Homes (personal communication,
November 22, 2017). Without a huge construction labor force, that wouldn t have
been possible. However, today s construction labor force is dwindling in size, and
home builders are having problems staffing workers. While the shortage of labor in
the construction industry of Minnesota is a serious issue, it can be solved by
introducing trade school programs into local schools. To begin, there is a decline in
Minnesotan high schools offering construction trade programs. Since high schools
don t offer these types of programs, many students don t know that going to college
to get a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only are high schools withholding trade programs from students, but the
negative perception of construction workers turns away applicants. Society has
shaped the idea that two year universities aren t as good as four year universities.
Likely, this is because the perception is that the attendees of the two year university
aren t good enough for a four year university (Dickrell, 2013). These ideas prevent
students from attending two year universities. They are worried that society will
look down upon them. This stigma shouldn t be preventing students from
considering construction jobs. Another aspect of society that creates negative
perceptions about trade schools is high school teachers. Teachers aren t discussing
trade jobs, so many students don t even think about trade schools (Robertson, 2013).
By not promoting blue collar jobs, the construction labor industry is hurting.
Teachers need to open students minds to other options besides going to a four year
college. The small number of applicates to trade schools is likely due to a negative
perception of the construction industry. The shortage of labor caused by society and
the lack of trade programs in high schools causes a problem for consumers because of
the rise in prices in the construction industry. It s plain to see that the lack of workers
affects how much construction industries can charge. The industry is
Theories Of Management And The Performance Of A
Business...
Henri Fayol (1841 1925) was a theorist who believed in a theory which was based on
how management interacts with the performance of a business. Management theory
is defined as bringing change in actual behaviour (chapter 2 article). In this modern
day, many businesses rely on Fayol s Classic theory to manage staff effectively. Fayol
introduced the idea of splitting crucial activities that firms carry out on a day to day
basis into 6 separate groups (technical, commercial, financial, security, accounting and
management). However, out of those activities, Fayol believed that managerial
activities within organisations, whether they are big or small, where senior jobs are
present, most important. (Henri Fayol article 1949) He came to the conclusion that
within the managerial sector, there are five elements. This included, planning,
organisation, command, coordination and control. These were listed in his book
General and Industrial Administration (1916) (Henri Fayol article 1949). This essay
is going to explore different interpretations of management and specifically
comparing classical theorists such as Fayol and Taylor as well as humanist theorists
such as McGregor and finally, empirical theorists such as Luthen. This essay will
also analyse Fayol s theory and how it has been criticised over the years.
Fayol
Fayol came up with this theory because he had had a more holistic outlook of the
organisation and seeing the principles of management as a framework rather than a
Essay On Shadow Of Our Thoughts
The Shadow of Our Thoughts focuses on challenging the sterotype that all
Muslims are terrorist. I drew inspiration for my piece from my own childhood
growing up in a post 911 America. I used to have the same reoccuring dream of a
malificant shadow chasing me. I never saw my childish nightmare outside of my
dreams, but I felt its presences in the eyes of those who judged me before they even
knew me. News channels like Fox New had taught these individuals to associate Islam
with terroist which thereby labeled me as a terrorist. That was the end of the story
for them, but for me, that was half the story. I find it startling that that was enough
for them. My pieces tackles the issue and threat of only hearing one side of the story.

Hydrocal was then made to be poured at a semiliquid consistency. To create a single

As for waste molds, The process was just as long. Waste molds tended to be for larger
pieces in general. A piece was evenly shimed as not to leave any open space. A blue
coat of molding plaster would be applied to be a warning coat when chizel a piece,
and molding plaster would be caked out to leave a clear and defining shim line.
The first two steps would be repeated for the second side. The waste mold would be
opened two hours later, and the clay would be removed, a hydrocal insertion hole
would be made if necessary, soaked in water, soaped, and set to air dry. The piece
would be vaslined bound metal wire and then held togethor by hemp in molding

would be opened hours later.
For assembly, the pieces would have holes drill in them and hydrolcal in both of
the assembled pieces. The hydrocal would act as a glue to bring the pieces back

using a 60% hydrocal to 40% molding plaster and poured it into my two rectangular

piece were attached to one another. My last step was to fully paint my pieces.
Addtionally, coloring was challenge for me, I wanted my colors to bring greater

Essay On Purchasing Parity Power
The purpose of this paper is to examine the key term of purchasing parity power
(PPP). This key term is used for several global business processes and decision
making from the strategic to the operational level of management. The current
research is mathematically based with regard to the validity of the variables used to
calculate PPP and provides examples of ways to restructure the variables for certain
business processes. Ultimately, it is a term and algorithm in which global business
leaders should be well versed to conduct cross border project management and
develop effective strategic business decisions.

In other words, the exchange rate is the equalizing factor that maintains product costs
relatively consistent across countries.
While there are myriad of PPP calculations, there are two general approaches,
absolute and relative (Hyrina Serletis, 2010). The absolute calculation relies on the
nominal exchange rate and the relative accounts for fluctuations like inflation (2010).
In fact, the variables of the calculation create the controversy, in that, scholars agree
that there are additional non constant variables to consider and many different
perspectives to view the variables. Nevertheless, despite the controversy regarding
how PPP is calculated, it is used for analyzing and reporting on costs across countries
by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization for Economic
Cooperation and Development (OECD), and by global business leaders to make
decisions (Investopedia, 2016).
Major Article Summary In the article by Langston (2016), a positive view of using
the standard PPP calculation was presented as applied it to international project cost
benchmarking. His research goal was to prove that the PPP calculation, and one in
particular, enables the highest level of accuracy for cost benchmarking for
international businesses (Langston, 2016). He did this because current benchmarking
calculations use exchange rates to first get monetary units to U.S. dollar (USD),
instead of using PPP, which is a more comprehensive picture of location

Fieldwork findings: Discussion
Pupil premium:
One core theme that derives from the fieldwork frequently is pupil premium. All
respondents were asked, which policy if any, would you say has been the most
effective at promoting educational attainment among pupils from economically
deprived areas? (Question 4). All respondents answered pupil premium as being the
most effective policy. Respondents A, B and D all argued that the extra funding
helped to promote education attainment among pupils from economically deprived
backgrounds through more staff, additional facilities and funds for students. The data
drawn from table 4.2 supports earlier literature on pupil premium.
As previously stated, this extra funding ensures that schools with deprived pupils
enroled have enough resources as tools to succeed in education. Relating back to
Table 4.2, respondents A and D both state funding for staff, this is further supported
by Carpenter et al (2013) who argue that the policy contributes highly to additional
staff and teachers have perceived this to be very effective. This is particularly
relevant to aim 3, on the outcomes of policy as additional staff contribute to
promoting educational attainment because it offers deprived pupils with additional
support and guidance.

External factors such as communities and cultural capital are shown as key in
attainment and are recognised. But, this research is concerned with what goes on
inside schools. Thereby, internal factors should not be undermined by external
factors. Schools matter and focus are given to policies directed at schools. The pupil
premium, academies and Teach First have been praised for their effectiveness in
helping schools to better pupil learning and promote attainment, through additional
staff and facilities and well qualified
Authenticity And Cover Song Analysis
The theory of authorship often challenge the ideals of authenticity, especially within
the context of cover songs. This is due to the fact that the composer of the song is a
separate entity from the performer. Society has often valued composer performers as
it has been encoded in culture within the past century. the attempt to understand the
past in terms of the past is paradoxically an absolutely contemporary phenomenon.
Authenticity is a historically specific abstraction and therefore, will continuously be
subjected to reconsiderations as our societal construction of authenticity changes
through time. A cover versionis seemingly an art form that contains a thin line that
dictates the authentic an artist presents their image within... Show more content on

Sincerity therefore emerges as an intrinsic factor within the concepts of both
authorship and authenticity. Sincerity and autobiography are techniques one can
employ in the service of personal authenticity, just as using traditional instruments and
singing old songs are techniques one can use in the service of cultural authenticity.
The guitar solo proposes an interesting interaction with the rock genre and a possible
reference to the version of Word Up performed by the rock band, Gun. While this is
not the same solo included in Gun s version, it is similar in construction and tone thus
demonstrating and evolution of the piece as it is passes through each artist s
rendition. As a result of this, Little Mix have provided an authentic essence of a
previous rendition within the style of rock while maintaining the songs original pop
based anthem sound. Through this analysis, it is apparent that compositions, even
within the composer s mind are rarely concrete and alterations through time are
inevitable. The notion of authenticity can consequently be challenged as society
endeavours to find that which is

Middle Class America Thesis Statement
Part 1: Give a general introduction to the problem, including the thesis statement. The
thesis statement should present a clearly defined position on a debatable topic.
In this argumentative essay, we will discuss the gradual dissipation of middle class
America. We will explore the ideal of the middle classdream at its creation and the
deteriration of the same dream throughout the decades in America.
Part 2: Present the history of the problem, including, perhaps, past attempts at a
solution.
Between 1945 until 1973, America underwent the Golden Age for the middle class.
During this period, the country ended a major war and the great depression, which

Part 4: Indicate what will happen if the problem is not solved.
If left unchecked, the decline in the middle class will creates a larger gap between

During the past couple of decades, the decline in the middle class has been

A Visit To A Museum
I remember visiting the world s largest museum, doesn t sound very exciting, but it
was the most exciting experience for me. In the world there are many beautiful
things, but nothing compares to the Louvre s statues, paintings, and architecture. I
am finally here, the City of Love! What am I thinking? A country girl in a city
known for its fashion, food, and culture. I have officially lost my mind. Oh well,
this is my one chance to dress up and feel like I fit in, because nobody here knows me.
Entering into the Louvre entrance, I can t help but feel in awe of the museum.
Walking up to the counter, I smile politely, because momma always taught me to
be to be polite, and I happily received my museum pass. I quickly catch up to my
group, out of breathe only because I ve eaten too much food and not exercised in
forever. Man I really should hit the gym when I get home. Stepping off the
escalator I am captured by beauty. This beauty is like the dew in the morning,
untouched and wonderful. I am staring at the most extraordinary statues and
figures the naked eye has ever had the pleasure of seeing. No matter my vision
problems, there is without a shadow of a doubt I am seeing things clearly for the
first time. Before me is standing statues of warriors, death, and life. The stark white
of the figures makes any evil become instantly pure. I turn slowly, enjoying this most

The Theme of Sin in the Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel...
The first couple of chapters introduces us to Hester Prynne and begins to explore
the theme of sin, along with its connection to knowledge and social order. This is a
world that has already fallen, that already knows sin. They know that misbehavior,
evil, and death are unavoidable. This belief fits into the larger Puritan doctrine,
which puts heavy emphasis on the idea of original sin. While exposing sin is meant
to help the sinner and provide an example for others, such exposure does more than
merely protect the community. Hester becomes a scapegoat and gives the
townspeople, particularly the women, a chance to demonstrate their own piety by
condemning her as loudly as possible. Rather than seeing their own potential
sinfulness in Hester, the townspeople see her as someone whose transgressions
outweigh and obliterate their own errors. The women of the town criticize her for
embroidering the scarlet letter, the symbol of her shame, with such care and in such
a flashy manner: It seems to declare that she is proud, rather than ashamed, of her
sin. In reality, Hester simply accepts the sin and its symbol as part of herself. The
town has made Hester into a living sermon because she is stripped of her humanity
and made to serve the needs of the community. Her punishment is expressed in
violent terms. The men who sit in judgment of Hester are not only hypocritical but
also ignorant. The narrator tells us that these ignorant men had no right to meddle
with a question of
What Is The Synopsis Of Ang Tunay Na Ina
FILM ANALYSIS
Ang Tunay na Ina is a Filipino melodrama, directed and written by Octavio Silos.
The major casts of the film are Rosario Moreno as Magdalena, Rudy Concepcion as
Roberto, Tita Duran as Tita, Quiel Segovia as Antonio, Dona Luisa as Nati Rubi,
Don Alberto as Precioso Palma, Naty Bernardo as Aling Andang. This is one of the
few films that survived from World War II. This is also one of the films that they
were able to restore.
The film focuses on how Magdalena is longing for her lost daughter. Her daughter
is the only reason why she felt incomplete and unhappy that is why she tried to find
her. I believe, that is what how a real mother will feel. As she finds her daughter,
the film emphasized how she proved that she is the real mother of Tita, not only
by blood but also by heart. And as the title says, Ang Tunay na Ina, it does not only
define a real mother on its own by her responsibilities and actions but also by the
way she feels towards her children. Don Alberto and Dona Luisa was talking about
what to do with the baby of Magdalena as she was said to have a child without being

The Importance Of Redneck
Today, the term redneck is often jokingly used to refer to people from rural
communities who like to drink cheap beer and watch NASCAR. Did you know,
though, that the term comes from the fact that people who worked in the fields
would have red necks from being in the sun all day? It was and still is, to many a
term that describes salt of the earth people who aren t afraid to put in a hard day s
work. The world of agricultural isn t just a world of corn and cows, though.
Working in an agricultural job could mean that you live in a city and spend your
time in a research facility or creating laws just as much as it could mean that your
daily suit is a pair of overalls. One type of job is not more important than the other.

The Russian Church was a well established because of their strong family ties, the

stronger than the other people in the world. In Matthew 10: 22, God states You

As Christians, we are always going to be hated, and there will be people to persecute

example of children of Christ who were persecuted for their beliefs and acts. The
Christians in Russia showed a perfect example of sacrifice, persistence, and trust.

The Enron Dilemma And Catholic Social Teaching
The Enron Dilemma and Catholic Social Teaching
The business world is an interesting environment that is often described as heartless
and cutthroat. However, while it is described that way, ethics do still apply to the
business world. Companies and corporations are expected to adhere to the ethical
code that has become engrained in business world. Unfortunately, however, despite
the existence of that expectation, some companies and corporations do not always act
in an ethical manner. Enron is an example of one of those ethically challenged
corporations. In this paper, a brief summary of the Enron scandal will be provided and
an analysis utilizing the principles of Catholic Social Teaching(CST) will be
conducted. Through the analysis, it will become apparent that Enron s actions
definitely conflicted with several CST principles.
Jumping right into the summary then. Enron was one of the most successful
corporations in America during its prime. Marketing electricity and other
commodities, as well as, providing financial and risk management services to other
companies were the main types of business that Enron conducted. However, Enron s
successful appearance was found out to be a façade, when it came out that the
corporation was making a plethora of unethical business moves. Once the corporation
s actions became public, Enron s fall from grace quickly followed. (Johnson, 2003)
The year 2001 is really the year that Enron s rapid stumble from the top occurred. It

Why Do Dragons Exist
Around the world, there are tales of fire breathing monsters and demons. There are
also tales that tell of these quadrupeds helping people create and destroy around the
world. Those quadrupeds are known around the world as dragons. These dragons

Human Conditions and Existentialism
In 21st century, what is the most important of human conditions? Is it money?
Happiness? What characteristics make this condition? Greed? In Kafka s story,
Metamorphosis, Gregor s family sees Gregor turning into a bug as a random
occurrence. Through this essay, we can see how the characters reflect in a selfish way
and human condition. Also, how the Kafka s story related with another story in the
forms of existentialism. First of all, the definition of human condition is the
characteristics, and behavior traits of the human. The human condition answers three
questions: Why am I here? What does it mean to be a human? How should I live my
life? (video)Throughout this unit, we read numerous short stories. Each of the stories
reflected to the human conditions. One specific example story ... Show more content

The story of Metamorphosis is about a man named Gregor Samsa, who gave his life
to his family, so he was the only one who work and bring money to the family. The
whole family relied on him even his father. But when he turned into a bug, the
family started to ignore him because he doesn t bring money to them anymore. But
on the other hand, his father started to balance himself into a work since Gregor can
t work. The existentialism is related to this story by telling us that choice is the
opportunity of the individual. We have to balance our life such as work and leisure
from the Metamorphosis. If we don t balance our life with each other, then we are
living a life like what happen to Gregor. Also, we should find our self identity in
the society we live in. It is because if we don t know our identity, then it is also

facilitating a care conference with family members and the resident. I learned how to

discovered was the process of guardians for residents who cannot make their own
decisions. My supervisor and I sat down to discuss the process and went through
paperwork on how to become a guardian. I learned a lot about Power of Attorney s

I d be able to go to a guardianship court hearing to watch the process unfold. I m

Theories Of Leadership And Leadership Theories
Introduction
In today s world, leaders are not defined by age, race or gender. They can be a high
school basketball coach, the shift supervisor at the local coffee shop, or even the
President of the United States of America. In as many ways that leaders can vary by
appearance and responsibility, there is also a variance in the ways that they lead.
This case study aims to compare three of the more popular theories of leadership.
These leadership theories are situational leadership, trait theory and transformational
leadership.
Summary of Theories
Situational leadership, developed by professor Paul Hersey and author and
consultant Ken Blanchard. Their approach was based off of a 1967 article by W.J.
Reddin called The 3 D Management Style Theory. In his article, Reddin discusses
the need to have different styles based on the demands of the leader. A leader
needs to be flexible in their approach to meet the needs of the job, their superior
and their subordinates (1967). Hersey and Blanchard progressed this theory by
introducing the Situational Leadership II model. Their model breaks leadership into
four different styles, and how a leader must alter their approach in supporting and
directing their subordinates based on a given situation. These styles are directing
(S1), coaching (S2), supporting (S3) and delegating (S4). The model also focuses on
the development level of the subordinates by categorizing them between low (D1),
moderate (D2 and D3) and
The Pros And Cons Of Electronic Technology
Can you imagine walking into your home without a computer to play games or type
a paper? Without a television to watch the news or your favorite movie? What about
without your smartphone always with you to instantly speak to whomever you want
wherever they may be, or search the web about whatever idea might pop into your
head? Only decades ago, no home held these things. Computers arrived a mere forty
years ago and now rest in the hands of millions. Technological development has
increased exponentially from the invention of items like spears and bowls of the
Stone Age. Each idea stems another, giving rise to more and more creations each
year. Technology in the past century has advanced exceptionally fast. Electronic
technology improves all the time, with new phones and machines every year.
Although these rapidly expanding advancements in technology have solved various
problems in the past, we should also consider the problems they have created.
The improper disposal of electronic products, or e waste , has become problematic.
The rapid advancements in technology cause electronics to become obsolete, or out of
date, more quickly. Because they are being replaced faster, more products are being
disposed of, even if they are still working. Some components of these products have
been found to contain hazardous material which can lead to health effects and
environmental pollution. Many people might just throw batteries in the trash without
thinking that they contain dangerous
The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara Essay
In a letter to the reader, Michael Shaara states that his purpose is similar to Stephen
Crane s in The Red Badge of Courage. He wishes to display history not as cold facts,
but rather in such a way that the reader can live the history. This is to be
accomplished through extensive detail of the emotions of the men, the atmosphere of
the battle, and strategies of the commanding officers. Accepting this as Shaara s
intent, it can be justifiably stated that he succeeds in his objective. The Killer Angels
does not merely relate what assaults and defenses where made by which colonels and
generals. Instead, the book delves into the emotions of the major figures of the battle
and what they endured physically and mentally as they planned for... Show more

This is most evident in the third day, when Shaara alternates between Colonel Joshua
Lawrence Chamberlain of the Union and James Longstreet of the Confederacy with
one section focusing on Lewis Armistead. Chamberlain and Longstreet are the two
major opposing officers, and we see the events from both perspectives. During
Pickett s charge from Longstreet s view, it is conceivable to imagine that the
Union forces are easily routing the charging Confederates. However, when the
book looks at Chamberlain s side, we see that the Union forces are being hit fairly
hard by Confederate artillery. By showing us the different characters viewpoints,
Shaara also shows us their personal feelings. For example, we learn of the deep
friendship between Armistead and the Union Major General Winfield Scott
Hancock. This changes the reader s view of Armistead s role in Pickett s charge.
There is now a poignant touch of pathos in seeing Armistead falter with emotion and
die at the top of the hill with apologies to Hancock. When the readers can look at the
characters of history as human, it becomes easier to grasp not only what they have
done, but also why they have done so. This is invaluable to understanding history.
Shaara conveys the overall emotion of the armies as well as the personal feelings of
the major characters. In one scene, Pickett s men are discussing what the war is being
fought over with Fremantle. Later, Tom Chamberlain relates an incident with
The Benefits Of Year-Round Schooling
Education is the process of gaining knowledge and skills through study and
instructions. Education exposes people to the world, builds character, curiosity, and
wisdom. Therefore, it is important for the children in today s world to get a good
education. For many years, school systems have worked to find solutions to
improving the education for all children. In the United States, most schools operate
on the ten month calendar, but many people oppose this system and like the year
round education better. Like the traditional calendar, the year round calendar also
operates 180 days a year. The main difference is that the year round schedule mandate
students to attend schoolfor 45 days, and have a three week break (Shields). The best
way to improve the system is to incorporate year round schooling. Despite the fact
that year round schooling costs more money, and takes away long summer vacation
time, it is beneficial to society because it provides a better transition for students,
resolves the problem of summer learning loss, and reduces the severity of
overcrowding. To begin with, many people are against year round schooling.
According to Charlotte Gerber, there are several disadvantages for school year round,
starting with economic issues and ending with family upheavals (Gerber). If schools
operate during the summer, they must pay for fans and air conditioning when it gets
hot in the classrooms. Studies has also shown that the heating and cooling systems
worsen during the
Treadmill of Conception
The treadmill of consumption refers to the consumption of material goods in which
people think they will become happier just by acquiring more material goods.
People over consume and are never satisfied with what they already have but rather
aim for more and bigger things. Under the treadmill of consumption people become
very competitive as well as greedy and have the need to over consume in order to
feel happier or more gratified. Studies have shown just the opposite that by over
consuming does not lead to happiness but rather to the contrary. As people accrue
more and more material goods they usually do not become happy or content but
rather raise the ladder for more consumption. One day they will realize that all their

We feel that we need to push ourselves to our higher limits by over consuming in
student debt loan or any other type of debt just to obtain a higher status of education
or to be socially accepted by others. This can have an emotional and psychological
effect on a person because of the high demands that we place on ourselves for
trying to raise our reference point in order to gain happiness and life satisfaction.
People are always looking to be in that higher pay bracket and they become needy
by the more they are given. Students go back to school as I did because after
searching for the type I job I wanted, I came to realize that a higher education was
critical and I would not have any chance without at least a bachelors degree. Many
students go even further to Grad school or for their PHD because they feel that a
bachelor s degree will not drive them to the ultimate paying job or the social status
they strive to gain for themselves, as I am considering for myself as well. As a
human race we over consume and drive ourselves deeper into debt because we feel
this will help to reach the level of self fulfillment and our actualization and at the
same time to gain happiness.
In conclusion people over consume more than they need and more than they want.
People relate to the more money, goods, better education or higher paying career they
Mark Twain And Thurber Comparison Essay
Anisha Reynolds
Ms. Newell
ELA 10 14 November 2017
Comparison of Twain and Thurber Mark Twain and James Thurber portray conflict in
their humorous writing using literary devices. This enhances their stories and makes
them enjoyable to read. Mark Twain in A Toast to the Oldest Inhabitant: The Weather
of New England and James Thurber in The Dog that Bit People use hyperbole,
understatement, and precise diction to portray the conflict that develops their
humorous writing. Thurber and Twain use hyperboles to convey conflict. For
example, when Uncle Horatio visits, he says, He said he wasn t afraid of any dog
that ever lived and that he would put the dog s plate on the floor if we would give
it to him, (261). This shows how he is exaggerating, because it is impossible to not
be afraid of every dog that comes your way. This also shows that the dog is
frightening to everyone but the owner. An example from Twain s writing says,

In Thurber s work, when Muggs dies, it says, On the board I wrote with an
indelible pencil Cave Canem , (262). This shows Thurber s use of precise diction
to show satire. Thurber uses latin to show humorous writing because Cave Canem
means Beware of the Dog. For example, in A Toast to the Oldest Inhabitant: The
Weather of New England, Mark Twain states, I like to hear rain on a tin roof, so I
covered part of my roof with tin, with an eye to that luxury. Well, sir, do you think
it ever rains on the tin? No, sir; skips it every time, (255). This shows Twain s use
of precise diction when he uses the words skips it every time, because the rain can t
skip something every time. This also shows how his use of precise diction helps him
create fantastic hyperboles that stir one s imagination. Twain and Thurber s use of
precise diction helps depict

One may say, that the theme would be: No matter how many struggles one faces, in
the end, someone will always be there to love a person, and cherish every moment
they have together. The author tries to epitomize that even though Jane struggled
consequently through her entire life, in the end, she had someone to love. Jane
herself realizes this in the end of the novel, stating that she never met anyone else
who loved her in this quantity, and was willing to spend the rest of his life with her.
Her life with Rochester had been pleasant after the ten years of their marriage, and
she remembers that they both are equals in their relationship; one is not higher than
the other. The author tries to prove that one should not give up hope, even in
desperate times, and wait until something better comes along, and when it does, take
it, and not let the chance go. The theme of love is stated throughout the novel.
Charlotte BrontГ« wrote what was known to be the tale of the heart s realisation
through another, and of the loss of what seemed to be realized ( Cambridge History,
Jane Eyre, Part One 2). Jane Eyre for the most part, had positive reviews from
audiences, and professors. Such, Jane Eyre was a unique Victorian book because in
it, whatever the age might think it right to say, it was made plain to the most

Harriet Beecher Stowe s Story
Harriet Beecher Stowe s story clearly had the intentions of persuading the
southerner s view of slavery. She often humanized her characters, so they weren t
represented as just property, that they were human too. She also showed the
contradictions may people had with their views on slavery. Lastly she gave
reasons of how these views contradicted the views of Christianity. Often in her
story she humanized her characters. At the beginning of her story when Eliza goes
to Mrs. Shelby asking her if Mr. Shelby would ever sell her boy, she describes how
Eliza was distraught. That she was distracted and crying over the thought of
loosing her child. This is something that many parents probably feared, and it
showed the audience that these salves were human too. That the felt the same
emotional pain as everyone else. Stowe again shows this type of motherly love
with her character Eliza in her part of the story when Eliza is crossing the frozen
river. She showed that she risked her own safety and the safety of her child to avoid
being separated from each other. Later on in her story she shows that there is a
picture of George Washington in Tom s cabin. This showed that Tom admired
Washington just as much as any other patriot of the United States. That he himself
was a patriot and loved his country, even though his country did not view him as a
citizen. Stowe also brings up the fact that slaves were not just grown men. That they
were mothers and children too. Most importantly

Demographic Trends
Demographic trends are important for businesses and investors if they are to thrive. It
is the main indication of how successful a business can be. Businesses that ignore
demographic trends put their companies at risk. Trends in demographic are changing
and have an impact on the future of businesses. The increase in the U.S. aging
population, Millennials, the rise in female leadership, the rapid growth of
immigrants, are all changing the business and social environment. For this reason,
this shift must be addressed by businesses with a vigilant approach. For example, the
aging population, will more than double by 2050. The aging population will induce
growth in the healthcare industry as 40% of health care cost is already incurred by
the aged. Millennials are more interested in technology, digital communication, social
media, and constant innovative products and services. Immigrant will most likely
have different tastes in products and services. Actually, the number of females in the
workplace has increased considerably compared to decades ago, not to even mention
those who are now in a leadership position. That will certainly lead to new business
opportunities and economic growth. Trends... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

made very clear. Mark Twain brilliantly allowed the readers to see a difference
between Easterners and Westerners through educated and uneducated diction. The
narrator s tone and choice of words used at the beginning of the text, revealed to me
that he has academia background. The narrator stated, I called on good natured,
garrulous old Simon Wheeler... (Twain 121). When using the word garrulous, when

vocabulary was extensive. The narrator also carried a certain persona about himself, a

specifically stated, Smiley seemed to have come from a background where survival
by any means possible was the motto for life. Any means possible, meaning doing
bizarre things that to another would seem classless. Mark Twaindepicted Smiley as a
man simply trying to make best out of life. It was perceived that formal education
was not prevalent in his surroundings and street hustling was the way of life, perhaps
passed on from previous generations. Overall, Twain was able to show the readers a

first term as President. The ideas of these Acts from Adam s point of view were to be
simple; the first being an Alien Act, which focused on making the United Statesmore
secure from alien (foreign) spies and domestic traitors . Alongside the Alien Act is
the Sedition Act, which would make it illegal for anyone to express any false
scandals at or against the United States government. Overall, these Acts had a great
impact on not only the citizens of the U.S. but also Congress itself. These Acts greatly

Jefferson, the creator of the Virginia resolutions and Madison, the creator of the
Kentucky resolutions came together to help push a more country wide view on their
resolutions. Overall of the current 16 states at the time, about half responded
negatively to the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions (Citation). Of those eight, four
opposed the resolution towards the First Amendment. Three other states complained
the Jefferson s and Madison s resolutions were unjust and unwise and impolitic . The
other eight states either were for the resolutions or for the most part they did not
oppose or care. Four of these states wanted repeal and destruction of the Alien and
Sedition Acts (Citation). The states that opposed the resolutions were for the most
part the New England states, where the Federalist had the most power. The southern
states were the ones who supported or did not follow along with the resolutions. In
the end however, the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions were a failure. The opposing
states argued that the resolutions and the Constitutional views of federal state
relations were extremely mainstream (Citation). However, even with the failure of the
resolutions, the Alien and Sedition Acts only went on for three years after they were
created. Even so, the Acts still played a major part in American history in the years

Milo, By Milo And Tock
As Milo and Tock continued on their journey, they became exasperated of not
knowing what would happen to them next. Tock thought very hard about how they
would find the princesses? Tock s dread grew about whether they wouldn t be able to
rescue the princesses. Soon enough, he became more and more anxious with every
step he took.
Uh Milo, are you sure we ll rescue Rhyme and Reason? asked Tock, with disbelief in
his voice.
Well, I m not sure, I hope it works out, Milo said softly.
Tock began to grow uncertain that Milo was still positive about their situation,
fearing that they would fail. As Milo drove along the road, a blanket of darkness
covered the sky, suddenly, the path was leading into a forest. As Milo s and Tock s
fear about possibly not being able to help them, they were sucked into a dark forest,
Milo looked back and noticed that there wasn t a way back to escape the grip of the
forest. I can smell your fear from miles away, said an unknown raspy voice. Who are
you? Come out! replied Milo. I m Reek, the leader of Frightopia, said Fear proudly.
Now because of your fear, I dragged you into the Fear Forest, you see, I feed on fear.
RUN! yelled Milo as he was frightened.
Milo, Tock, and the Humbug ran for their lives, but as they were running they
stumbled upon a short fellow.
Oh boy! Don t scare me like that! That doesn t help me to get out of here! said the
short boy.
Sorry I almost bumped into you, I wasn t paying attention. What s your name?
The Key Beliefs Of A Religious And Secular World View
Of...
Analyse the key beliefs of a religious and secular world view in relation to ultimate
questions Taylor Murfitt.
In this report I will be both contrasting and comparing the religious view of
Catholicism and the world view of Secular Humanism. The three questions I will be
analysing through the religious view of Catholicism and the world view Secular
Humanism include:
Is there a higher being?
What is the purpose of my life?
Is there a right way to treat people?
These three questions are very much conflicting worldwide and many philosophical
discussions have been debated for years, however with many different views on the
world, not everyone on Earth has the same answer to these. This may be due to
different upbringings through youth, values, and overall beliefs, including
Catholicism and Secular Humanism. Within this report there is no aim of finding the
truth or the actual answer, it is simply an analysis of people s personal beliefs to these
questions. I am going to include others opinions including my own interviewee s
(would like to be kept anonymous) thoughts and beliefs throughout the report,
including my own, and opinions I have researched to further analyse opinions of
different groups that can support these worldviews.
A brief description of the religious view Catholicism: A denomination of Christianity.
I have decided to specifically narrow my world religion view to Catholicism, which is
one of the main and largely practiced branches of Christianity.
The 2015 National Security Strategy Essay
1. POLICY DECISION AND OBJECTIVES. The 2015 National Security Strategy
(NSS) identifies climate change as a top strategic risk and seeks to shape standards
for prevention, preparedness, and response over the next decade . On 3 September
2016, the United States (U.S.) and China ratified the 2015 United Nations (UN) Paris
Agreement on climate change. A month later, the European Union (EU) followed suit,
building international momentum to combat climatechange. The President of the
United States (POTUS) released, Presidential Memorandum Climate Change and
National Security on 21 September 2016. It directs Federal agencies to consider
climate change impacts in all national security doctrine, policies, and plans. To
maintain momentum into the next administration, the memorandum also requires
agencies to specify climate change consideration objectives, milestones, and timelines
by 21 December 2016 and to provide an implementation plan by 21 February 2017.
2. BACKGROUND / NATIONAL INTERESTS. In June 2013, POTUS released
The President s Climate Action Plan. The Climate Action Plan organizes and directs
executive action regarding climate change, based on three pillars: (1) cutting carbon
pollution in America, (2) preparing the U.S. for the impacts of climate change, and
(3) leading international efforts to combat global climate change and prepare for its
impacts. Five months later, POTUS issued Executive Order (EO) 13643 Preparing
the United States for the Impact of Climate
Politics In Allen Guelzo s House Divided
The first of the two sources to be examined here is Allen Guelzo s House Divided:
Lincoln, Douglas, and the Political Landscape of 1858. This source took a more
technical examination of not just the speeches and overall influence of Lincoln
during this time, but also on where politics stood around the middle of the nineteenth
century. To begin with, this source took a more critical examination at the Lincoln
Douglas race from the perspective of the complex political situation that was inherent
during this time. That is to say, the campaigns that were waged were not merely
about how viable each candidate was for office, but rather the philosophical
differences between these individuals and many others, according to the source. This
means that the source was able to take a closer look at why Abraham Lincoln, as well
as Douglas, actually believed what they did. This retrospective aspect of the source
allowed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was a great deal of emotion inherent within politics and this oftentimes boiled
over during senate hearings and other events. This is one element of politics that is
effectively demonstrated by the source here because it is able to utilize quotes and tie
these quotes to some of the most important singular elements of character within
these individuals. In the process, the author is able to create something of a profile
within each of these major historical figures, and this is important because it allows
each of these figures to represent a different priority or concept within politics in
general. As such, there are a number of clashing ideals within politics that are
effectively mentioned in this source, although, it should be noted, the source is
comparatively shorter and as a result, many of these philosophies and concepts simply
are not given the attention they

Pregnancy And Sex In I Love Lucy
Lucy, you ve got some splaining to do! If you are anything like me, you can hear
Ricky Ricardo s iconic voice and as you express this most quotable line, you are
impersonating Mr. Ricky Ricardo. I Love Lucy is one of the most legendary and
most famous situation comedies of all time, maintaining its ability to appeal
audience even half a century later. The television show follows the life of Lucy
Ricardo (Lucille Ball), a goofy woman of the house in the 1950s as she attempts to
break into show business. In attempts to do so, Lucy gets herself into crazy situations
that she often tries to resolve before her husband, Ricky Ricardo (Desi Arnaz), comes
home. This television show has transformed society as a whole. This television show
pushed boundaries by having a bi racial romantic relationship on television. In the
1950s, individuals would not have thought that a white woman and a Cuban man
would be in a romantic relationship, especially on a television show. When Lucy
gets pregnant, this situation is the first depiction of pregnancy on a television show.
Pregnancy and sex are topics not often brought up in television shows back in the
1950s. Lucille Ball was not your average American homemaker. She set the platform
for the proto feminist lifestyle that us American women live in today. I Love Lucyhas
dealt with controversial issues since before the first episode aired on television. The
producers at CBS did not believe that viewers would accept that Lucy could be
married
Compare And Contrast Juror 4 In 12 Angry Men
Contradictory Choices: Comparing the Similarities of the Two Crucial Characters in
12 Angry Men
A story that takes place during summer in a blazing hot jury room, filled with
twelve hot tempered men, is the defendant really guilty? In 12 Angry Men, by
Reginald Rose, a young boy is accused of killing his own father ruthlessly with a
knife. It is now the duty of the twelve jurors to corroborate and come up with a fair
verdict. Some jurors uses emotion to deal with the case, while others uses logic and
provided strong evidence to support their claim. Juror Four and Juror Eight are
similar in the way that they are both open minded, take the trial seriously, and they
also uses logic to analyze problems.
Throughout the play, Juror 4 and Juror 8 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, when Juror 4 said to everyone regarding about a baffling conflict, I
don t see any need for arguing like this. I think we ought to be able to behave like
gentlemen. (16) This shows how Juror 4 is confident and determined to resolve the
case and not play around. He tries very hard to calm many jurors down instead of
letting it go and think of other things, this shows that he cares about the case.
Moreover, Juror 8 also shows us that he cares about the case because he thinks and
tries very hard to back up his claim so that is seems believable. To illustrate, when
Juror 8 tries to retort back to a claim he thinks is false, Nobody has to prove
otherwise. The burden of proof is on the prosecution. The defendant doesn t have
to open his mouth. That s in the Constitution. The Fifth Amendment. You ve heard
of it. (18) This quote reveals how he is confident with his knowledge and tries very
hard to think of a rebuttal against Juror 2 argument. He thinks that a rebuttal against
a false statement is very important, because he doesn t want Juror 2 to convince
other people with his statement. In another example, Juror 8 exhibits how he takes
the trial seriously by investigating the case in his own time, I m just saying it s
possible ... I got it last night in a little junk shop around the corner from the boy s
house. It cost two dollars. (24). In his own time, Juror 8 tries to find a similar knife
that has been used in the murder, and successful bought one. This shows how he is
willing to sacrifice his own time to find evidence for the case, it shows that he
cares about the case and take the trial seriously. By taking the trial seriously, it
reveals how both of the jurors is a fair person and wanted to give a fair trial and
justice to the
Analysis Of The Book Kamo No Chomei
Kamo No Chomei as opposed to Genji went out into seclusion on his own account,
Genji was exiled from the capital and went into seclusion to Suma, although he had a
few servants he imagines himself in solitude. In An Account of a Ten Foot Square
Hut, the writer is basically revealing that peace can be found in beauty, and beauty is
found within the soul. Sometimes the way of civilization(worry about reputation,
ranking of social status, politics, love affairs, etc.) interferes in finding spiritual
peace. However, Genji was a man in love with beauty and the arts, but he was
never at peace with himself. He needed the company of other, specially the
company of beautiful women. He might have appeared self centered, selfish, and
arrogant at first, but after reading Chomei s story, one can see the good side of
Genji s persona. Kamo No Chomei, An Account of a Ten Foot Square Hut ,
recounts his life experience as a Buddhist in seclusion in the depths of Mount Ohara,
moreover in his late years move deeper in the depths of Mount Hino. Kamo No
Chomei went in seclusion escaping the horrors of the city capital. Chomei view the
worldas beautiful yet perilous, hence he perceived life itself as difficult, especially
city life. In his life, he witnessed the worst the world can throw at you when nature
rebels against it. He witnessed hunger and deaths by the thousands as consequence
from fires, storm winds, earthquakes, sickness, and epidemics. People, wealthy and

Developed by Edna Foa, prolonged exposure therapy exposes patients to their
traumatic event over and over again while being in a safe place (Blankenship 277).
Although prolonged exposure therapy is one treatment it has four main elements
including education, breathing retraining, in vivo exposure, and imaginal exposure.
Education consists of learning about the treatment, treatment symptoms, and goals of
the treatment. Breathing retraining helps patients to relax and calm themselves when
they become anxious. In vivo exposure allows patients with PTSD to be put in real
life situations that they are not comfortable with due to the trauma they have faced.
Lastly, imaginal exposure allows the patients with post traumatic stress disorder to
talk through their traumatic event while it is recorded. After repeatedly talking
through their event, the patient then listens to what they have said (Swan 28).
Prolonged exposure therapy occurs over eight to fifteen sessions. Each session can
range from 60 to 90 minutes depending on the patient and their specific needs
(Blankenship 278). This treatment helps patients with post traumatic stress disorder
by allowing them to face their fears associated with the traumatic event and gain
control over their emotions (Swan 28). Prolonged exposure therapy is proven to be a
very effective therapy and is highly supported for the use of treating PTSD

Acid Reflux Research Paper
Myths and facts about acid reflux Acid reflux, commonly called heartburn, is as
common as it is unpleasant. It can also be a stubborn problem to deal with. In
addition, there are many myths regarding acid reflux and it is important to separate
the facts from the fiction. Myth: Drinking a glass of milk can relieve your heartburn
Fact: Drinking milk causes more reflux during sleep. Milk has a rebound effects,
which eventually encourages more acid secretion in the stomach thereby causing acid
reflux. In fact, try adjusting your diet by eating a small meal at dinner and having a
small snack.1 Myth: My heartburn is my fault Fact: Patients suffering from heartburn

sufferers. 2 Myth: Antacids aren t real medicine Fact: Many individuals think that
antacids are sold without a prescription (OTC) so they are not real medicine.
However, if you use these OTC antacids as per your physician recommendation or
as per the directions given on the pack these medicines are usually safe and
effective. In addition, like other drugs these antacid may interact with other drug or
trigger some side effects. Therefore, be sure to let your physician know that you
are taking antacids if they are prescribing any other medications. 2 Myth: I have to
live with my heartburn Fact: Some of the new OTC medications can actually
prevent heartburn as well as provide complete symptom relief. H2 blockers reduce
acid secretion for about 12 hours and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) effectively
inhibit acid production and treat your symptoms of heartburn within 24 hours with a
dose of one pill per day.
Corrupt School System
The Corrupt School System Education in the U.S. is failing, so bad in fact that
other countries are going to start taking advantage of us, and pass us as they excel
in innovation and we lag behind. The general schooling system of the United States
has been around for one hundred and fiftee years, with almost all the same
teaching methods, grading and student expectations taking place through it all. It s
very perplexing that the system multiple generations were taught in hasn t changed
while everything else has. The school system of America needs to change in order
for it to stay as one of the most successful, powerful countries in the world. The first
reason why our school system needs to change in order for the U.S. to stay
successful is because everything else in our country in the past 150 years, like
technology, laws, transportation, language, literature and much more has evolved.
If everything else has changed, then why hasn t our school system? All the
changes that were made since America was first founded were made to adapt and
prepare for the future to achieve ultimate success, so we should be changing our
school system to help students adapt and prepare for the future, to help them
achieve success. In order for our country to be successful , our future leaders must
be prepared to be successful. The second reason why our school system needs to
change in order for the U.S. to stay successful is because school systems around the
world are starting to change and
Skis Essay
In addition to simply aiding our normal locomotion, shoes have been used to create
new ways of movement entirely. The development of skis is somewhat debated,
with many claiming scandinavian peoples were the first to invent them. While
there are many archaeological examples of skis from this area, the oldest found
were actually discovered near moscow, and date back about 6000 BCE. However,
this is not the oldest evidence of skis. Cave paintings in china dating back to 8000
BCE depict the first known example of skis. The first ice skates, however, were
found in Switzerland and date back around 3000 BCE. They used flattened bone to
glide across the ice. It is theorized that ice skating developed alongside nordic skiing
as flat boards... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To the best of our knowledge, roller skates were first seen in london in 1743 as part
of a stage performance by an unknown inventor. They gained popularity over the
next few centuries as recreational items. Heelys were invented in 1999 and allow
for the seamless transition between walking and rolling. Despite their utility
however, these have not caught on as the advent of the motor vehicle has reduced
the need for being fast on foot. Clothes that enhance vision Enhancing the senses is
another important role for tools, and wearables show evidence of this. Eye
enhancements, such as eyeglasses, sunglasses, and goggles all play a role in
allowing us to extend our sight. Before the invention of reading aids using lenses,
snow goggles were used as a tool similar to modern day sunglasses. Snow goggles
were made from driftwood, bone, ivory, or antler. They fit against the face snuggly so
that light entered only through small slits, with soot inside to help avoid glare. These
were used to reduce the amount of light that reaches the eye to prevent snow
blindness, which is especially dangerous in the spring when the bright sun hits fresh
snow. The thin slit would improve visual acuity by creating an artificial squint,
actually enhancing the vision in bright lighting as opposed to just protecting from the
sun. The first examples of these were found from Inuit and Yupik cultures. The

Diagnosis Of An Informal Caregiver
During the stages Alzheimer s in which the resident is in need of care, but that care
is not too complex, it is most common to turn to an informal caregiver. According to
the 2016 Alzheimer s Disease Facts and Figures (2016), In 2015, caregivers of
people with Alzheimer s and other dementias provided an estimated 18.1 billion
hours of informal (that is, unpaid) assistance, a contribution to the nation valued at
$221.3 billion (p. 32). Informal caregivers are mainly daughters and spouses of the
residents. Females make up the majority of familymember caretakers, but it is
becoming more common for men to take on this role (Brodaty Donkin, 2009).
Roughly a third of the caretakers in the United States are over the age of sixty five
and the majority are married or are in long term relationships. It has also been found
that around 23% of caretakers for residents with dementia also have their own
children under age eighteen (Alzheimer s Association, 2016). This can increase the
level of stress that the caregiverfaces, as he or she is being stretched in different
directions.
Informal caregivers take on the role of caring for the resident for a number of
reasons. One of which includes the fact that they believe that they owe a debt of
gratitude to their loved ones. Other reasons include a feeling that it is what they
should do regardless of whether or not they want to or because they believe that it
will provide them with a feeling of fulfillment. Those who choose to take on

collected includes the age, type and price which allowed me to make a statistic
about how the age affects the price of this certain model over several years. I will

As we can see, the price drops the elder the car is. Inside the range of the diagram the
prediction might be accurate. So we can tell very precisely how much the car is

North Korea Essay. Government of north korea

  • 1. North Korea Essay Writing an essay on the topic of North Korea can be a challenging endeavor due to the complex nature of the subject matter. The political, historical, and cultural intricacies surrounding North Korea make it a multifaceted topic that requires in-depth research and analysis. To begin with, understanding the historical context of the Korean Peninsula, the division between North and South Korea, and the events leading to the establishment of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is crucial. This involves delving into the aftermath of World War II, the Korean War, and the ideological foundations of the North Korean regime. Furthermore, addressing the contemporary geopolitical situation involving North Korea adds another layer of difficulty. The country's isolationist policies, nuclear ambitions, and strained relations with neighboring nations create a dynamic landscape that demands careful examination. Analyzing the impact of international sanctions, diplomatic efforts, and the role of global actors in the region further complicates the task. Moreover, discussing the human rights situation within North Korea, including issues such as censorship, political repression, and the challenges faced by its citizens, requires a sensitive and well-informed approach. Balancing the portrayal of the regime with the experiences of the North Korean people is essential for a comprehensive understanding. Crafting a coherent and well-structured essay on North Korea also involves navigating through a plethora of sources, ranging from academic publications and official government statements to news articles and firsthand accounts. Distinguishing between reliable information and propaganda can be a formidable challenge, adding an extra layer of complexity to the research process. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of North Korea demands a meticulous approach, encompassing historical, political, and social dimensions. It requires a thorough understanding of the subject matter, critical analysis of diverse sources, and the ability to present a balanced perspective. For those who find the task overwhelming, it's worth considering seeking assistance from professional writing services like HelpWriting.net, where a range of essays and more can be ordered to meet specific academic needs. • 2. Descriptive Power Of Nature Deep in the mountains in the southwest corner of North Carolina is a river unlike any other. Halfway through my perilous rafting journey, there was a moment when time stood still. I witnessed a natural phenomenon which displayed the beauty of nature at its finest. During that moment, I realized the insignificance of humanity, and why we should respect the overwhelming power of nature. The Nantahala is a whitewater river nestled in a valley with steep mountains flanking it on all sides. The forest it was situated in is the only temperate rainforest east of the Mississippi River. The rafting Industry has adopted this river as its premier destination. I was a 14 year old Boy Scout on a three day camping trip in the Nantahala Gorge. The weather was cloudy with periodic rain showers throughout the day and night. The temperature was at the mid 80 s but never got above the 90 s. I was in a bright yellow raft shared amongst five of my companions and a rafting Guide who went by the name Bones. Bones was a Caucasian man with dreads in his hair, tattoos of paddles shaped as a pirates cross on both of his arms, and was massively strong. We floated down the river like leaves down a stream; constantly fighting to stay upright and not be cast overboard by the restless aggression of the rapids. We were part of the way through a two hour journey down the Nantahala river. It had rained continuously throughout the trip, which meant we were soaked to the bone and fighting hypothermia.

  • 5. Essay on The Woman Warrior, by Maxine Hong Kingston The theme of voiceless woman throughout the book the woman warrior is of great importance. Maxine Kingston narrates several stories in which gives clear examples on how woman in her family are diminished and silenced by Chinese culture. The author not only provides a voice for herself but also for other women in her family and in her community that did not had the opportunity to speak out and tell their stories. The author starts the book with the story of her aunt. This story was a well kept family secret being that her aunt s actions were of great disappointment to the family. The no name woman as the story names her, was forgotten by all her family because she had a child that was not from her husband. This story gives a clear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After so many years of being subjected by other people, she finally took her life into her own hands and made an attempt to be happy. According to the book, this woman gave birth to a baby which was a symbol of embarrassment and humiliation not only for the villagers but for all the family. Even though this baby did not have any notion of what was going on, she was still a victim of Chinese norms. This baby also became forgotten being that she was not given the opportunity to be alive. Kingston s aunt decision of killing the baby, had to do greatly with the fact that she was girl. As the book states it was probably a girl; there is some hope for forgiveness for boys . Without any doubt, if the baby was given the opportunity to live she would have been mistreated and condemned all her life. She would not have had the opportunity to developed her own identity or raise her own voice . Additionally, another example that implies that Kingston aunt had no voice is when the author states, The work of preservation demands that the feelings playing about in one s guts not to be turned into action. Just watch their passing like cherry blossoms (Kingston 8). This sentence can be interpreted that a women s feelings and wishes were not allowed to be turned into reality or to be expressed. On the contrary, their feelings and wishes were only allowed to be kept to their selves as if

There wasn t much to the process except for tagging the calf and writing down the records for it. Scours was really common for all babies to have within three to four days of being born. Scours is a form a diarrhea for cattle, and it can make them very sick and sometimes die. When calving out in the spring you never know what the weather conditions will be, and pneumonia is very common for the calves to catch. • 7. Christian Life And The Teachings Of The Bible I have been participating in the Korean language class on Monday and Wednesday from August 10 to now. Last Sunday, I participated in the 1st annual golden harvest 5k marathon. First, I d like to discuss the spiritual concepts/values from text that relate to personal beliefs. I am a Christian since birth. So all I d like to talk about is Christian life and the teachings of the bible. Throughout my whole life, I have learned about spiritual things and what kind of spiritual things are in my ego. The spiritual values that I always have is love, hope, and trust. Love is an element that Christians value and have in their Christian mindand the bible says to love each other. I am doing my best to understand this word throughout my whole life and it is the reason why I chose my major Nursing. The dictionary meaning of love is an intense feeling of deep affection or feel a deep romantic or sexual attachment to someone. The bible states that Christian love is selfless and a giving love. I realized something when I went to Africa for doing some volunteer work. I felt what it meant to be selfless and what it was to give love through volunteering and now I keep this in mind through my life too. The second value is hope. All of religion is based on hope, just like forgiveness, and going to heaven and waiting for God to give them something that they want. But in the bible it says, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of JesusChrist (Peter
  • 8. Shortage Of Labor In High School Construction is the industry that got us out of the recession says Kari Clark, president of the homebuilding company Sharper Homes (personal communication, November 22, 2017). Without a huge construction labor force, that wouldn t have been possible. However, today s construction labor force is dwindling in size, and home builders are having problems staffing workers. While the shortage of labor in the construction industry of Minnesota is a serious issue, it can be solved by introducing trade school programs into local schools. To begin, there is a decline in Minnesotan high schools offering construction trade programs. Since high schools don t offer these types of programs, many students don t know that going to college to get a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only are high schools withholding trade programs from students, but the negative perception of construction workers turns away applicants. Society has shaped the idea that two year universities aren t as good as four year universities. Likely, this is because the perception is that the attendees of the two year university aren t good enough for a four year university (Dickrell, 2013). These ideas prevent students from attending two year universities. They are worried that society will look down upon them. This stigma shouldn t be preventing students from considering construction jobs. Another aspect of society that creates negative perceptions about trade schools is high school teachers. Teachers aren t discussing trade jobs, so many students don t even think about trade schools (Robertson, 2013). By not promoting blue collar jobs, the construction labor industry is hurting. Teachers need to open students minds to other options besides going to a four year college. The small number of applicates to trade schools is likely due to a negative perception of the construction industry. The shortage of labor caused by society and the lack of trade programs in high schools causes a problem for consumers because of the rise in prices in the construction industry. It s plain to see that the lack of workers affects how much construction industries can charge. The industry is
  • 9. Theories Of Management And The Performance Of A Business... Henri Fayol (1841 1925) was a theorist who believed in a theory which was based on how management interacts with the performance of a business. Management theory is defined as bringing change in actual behaviour (chapter 2 article). In this modern day, many businesses rely on Fayol s Classic theory to manage staff effectively. Fayol introduced the idea of splitting crucial activities that firms carry out on a day to day basis into 6 separate groups (technical, commercial, financial, security, accounting and management). However, out of those activities, Fayol believed that managerial activities within organisations, whether they are big or small, where senior jobs are present, most important. (Henri Fayol article 1949) He came to the conclusion that within the managerial sector, there are five elements. This included, planning, organisation, command, coordination and control. These were listed in his book General and Industrial Administration (1916) (Henri Fayol article 1949). This essay is going to explore different interpretations of management and specifically comparing classical theorists such as Fayol and Taylor as well as humanist theorists such as McGregor and finally, empirical theorists such as Luthen. This essay will also analyse Fayol s theory and how it has been criticised over the years. Fayol Fayol came up with this theory because he had had a more holistic outlook of the organisation and seeing the principles of management as a framework rather than a
  • 10. Essay On Shadow Of Our Thoughts The Shadow of Our Thoughts focuses on challenging the sterotype that all Muslims are terrorist. I drew inspiration for my piece from my own childhood growing up in a post 911 America. I used to have the same reoccuring dream of a malificant shadow chasing me. I never saw my childish nightmare outside of my dreams, but I felt its presences in the eyes of those who judged me before they even knew me. News channels like Fox New had taught these individuals to associate Islam with terroist which thereby labeled me as a terrorist. That was the end of the story for them, but for me, that was half the story. I find it startling that that was enough for them. A blue coat of molding plaster would be applied to be a warning coat when chizel a piece, and molding plaster would be caked out to leave a clear and defining shim line. The first two steps would be repeated for the second side. The waste mold would be opened two hours later, and the clay would be removed, a hydrocal insertion hole would be made if necessary, soaked in water, soaped, and set to air dry. The piece would be vaslined bound metal wire and then held togethor by hemp in molding plaster and place around the seam. The hydrocal would be poured, and the piece would be opened hours later. For assembly, the pieces would have holes drill in them and hydrolcal in both of the assembled pieces. The hydrocal would act as a glue to bring the pieces back togethor. My pieces were sanded down till they were smooth. I created a base using a 60% hydrocal to 40% molding plaster and poured it into my two rectangular frames. After my base was completed, my pieces were attached to the base as the piece were attached to one another. My last step was to fully paint my pieces. • 11. Essay On Purchasing Parity Power The purpose of this paper is to examine the key term of purchasing parity power (PPP). This key term is used for several global business processes and decision making from the strategic to the operational level of management. The current research is mathematically based with regard to the validity of the variables used to calculate PPP and provides examples of ways to restructure the variables for certain business processes. Ultimately, it is a term and algorithm in which global business leaders should be well versed to conduct cross border project management and develop effective strategic business decisions. In other words, the exchange rate is the equalizing factor that maintains product costs relatively consistent across countries. While there are myriad of PPP calculations, there are two general approaches, absolute and relative (Hyrina Serletis, 2010). The absolute calculation relies on the nominal exchange rate and the relative accounts for fluctuations like inflation (2010). In fact, the variables of the calculation create the controversy, in that, scholars agree that there are additional non constant variables to consider and many different perspectives to view the variables. Nevertheless, despite the controversy regarding how PPP is calculated, it is used for analyzing and reporting on costs across countries by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and by global business leaders to make decisions (Investopedia, 2016). Major Article Summary In the article by Langston (2016), a positive view of using the standard PPP calculation was presented as applied it to international project cost benchmarking. His research goal was to prove that the PPP calculation, and one in particular, enables the highest level of accuracy for cost benchmarking for international businesses (Langston, 2016). He did this because current benchmarking calculations use exchange rates to first get monetary units to U.S. dollar (USD), instead of using PPP, which is a more comprehensive picture of location

All respondents were asked, which policy if any, would you say has been the most effective at promoting educational attainment among pupils from economically deprived areas? (Question 4). All respondents answered pupil premium as being the most effective policy. Respondents A, B and D all argued that the extra funding helped to promote education attainment among pupils from economically deprived backgrounds through more staff, additional facilities and funds for students. The data drawn from table 4.2 supports earlier literature on pupil premium. As previously stated, this extra funding ensures that schools with deprived pupils enroled have enough resources as tools to succeed in education. Relating back to Table 4.2, respondents A and D both state funding for staff, this is further supported by Carpenter et al (2013) who argue that the policy contributes highly to additional staff and teachers have perceived this to be very effective. • 13. Authenticity And Cover Song Analysis The theory of authorship often challenge the ideals of authenticity, especially within the context of cover songs. This is due to the fact that the composer of the song is a separate entity from the performer. Society has often valued composer performers as it has been encoded in culture within the past century. the attempt to understand the past in terms of the past is paradoxically an absolutely contemporary phenomenon. • 17. The Theme of Sin in the Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel... The first couple of chapters introduces us to Hester Prynne and begins to explore the theme of sin, along with its connection to knowledge and social order. This is a world that has already fallen, that already knows sin. They know that misbehavior, evil, and death are unavoidable. This belief fits into the larger Puritan doctrine, which puts heavy emphasis on the idea of original sin. While exposing sin is meant to help the sinner and provide an example for others, such exposure does more than merely protect the community. Hester becomes a scapegoat and gives the townspeople, particularly the women, a chance to demonstrate their own piety by condemning her as loudly as possible. Rather than seeing their own potential sinfulness in Hester, the townspeople see her as someone whose transgressions outweigh and obliterate their own errors. The women of the town criticize her for embroidering the scarlet letter, the symbol of her shame, with such care and in such a flashy manner: It seems to declare that she is proud, rather than ashamed, of her sin. In reality, Hester simply accepts the sin and its symbol as part of herself. The town has made Hester into a living sermon because she is stripped of her humanity and made to serve the needs of the community. Her punishment is expressed in violent terms. The men who sit in judgment of Hester are not only hypocritical but also ignorant. The narrator tells us that these ignorant men had no right to meddle with a question of

They can be a high school basketball coach, the shift supervisor at the local coffee shop, or even the President of the United States of America. In as many ways that leaders can vary by appearance and responsibility, there is also a variance in the ways that they lead. This case study aims to compare three of the more popular theories of leadership. These leadership theories are situational leadership, trait theory and transformational leadership. Summary of Theories Situational leadership, developed by professor Paul Hersey and author and consultant Ken Blanchard. Their approach was based off of a 1967 article by W.J. Reddin called The 3 D Management Style Theory. In his article, Reddin discusses the need to have different styles based on the demands of the leader. A leader needs to be flexible in their approach to meet the needs of the job, their superior and their subordinates (1967). Hersey and Blanchard progressed this theory by introducing the Situational Leadership II model. Their model breaks leadership into four different styles, and how a leader must alter their approach in supporting and directing their subordinates based on a given situation. These styles are directing (S1), coaching (S2), supporting (S3) and delegating (S4). The model also focuses on the development level of the subordinates by categorizing them between low (D1), moderate (D2 and D3) and

He wishes to display history not as cold facts, but rather in such a way that the reader can live the history. This is to be accomplished through extensive detail of the emotions of the men, the atmosphere of the battle, and strategies of the commanding officers. Accepting this as Shaara s intent, it can be justifiably stated that he succeeds in his objective. This is most evident in the third day, when Shaara alternates between Colonel Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain of the Union and James Longstreet of the Confederacy with one section focusing on Lewis Armistead. Chamberlain and Longstreet are the two major opposing officers, and we see the events from both perspectives. During Pickett s charge from Longstreet s view, it is conceivable to imagine that the Union forces are easily routing the charging Confederates. However, when the book looks at Chamberlain s side, we see that the Union forces are being hit fairly hard by Confederate artillery. By showing us the different characters viewpoints, Shaara also shows us their personal feelings. For example, we learn of the deep friendship between Armistead and the Union Major General Winfield Scott Hancock. This changes the reader s view of Armistead s role in Pickett s charge. There is now a poignant touch of pathos in seeing Armistead falter with emotion and die at the top of the hill with apologies to Hancock. When the readers can look at the characters of history as human, it becomes easier to grasp not only what they have done, but also why they have done so. This is invaluable to understanding history. Shaara conveys the overall emotion of the armies as well as the personal feelings of the major characters. In one scene, Pickett s men are discussing what the war is being fought over with Fremantle. Education exposes people to the world, builds character, curiosity, and wisdom. Therefore, it is important for the children in today s world to get a good education. For many years, school systems have worked to find solutions to improving the education for all children. In the United States, most schools operate on the ten month calendar, but many people oppose this system and like the year round education better. Like the traditional calendar, the year round calendar also operates 180 days a year. The main difference is that the year round schedule mandate students to attend schoolfor 45 days, and have a three week break (Shields). The best way to improve the system is to incorporate year round schooling. Despite the fact that year round schooling costs more money, and takes away long summer vacation time, it is beneficial to society because it provides a better transition for students, resolves the problem of summer learning loss, and reduces the severity of overcrowding. To begin with, many people are against year round schooling. According to Charlotte Gerber, there are several disadvantages for school year round, starting with economic issues and ending with family upheavals (Gerber). Later on in her story she shows that there is a picture of George Washington in Tom s cabin. This showed that Tom admired Washington just as much as any other patriot of the United States. That he himself was a patriot and loved his country, even though his country did not view him as a citizen. Stowe also brings up the fact that slaves were not just grown men. They fit against the face snuggly so that light entered only through small slits, with soot inside to help avoid glare. These were used to reduce the amount of light that reaches the eye to prevent snow blindness, which is especially dangerous in the spring when the bright sun hits fresh snow. The thin slit would improve visual acuity by creating an artificial squint, actually enhancing the vision in bright lighting as opposed to just protecting from the sun. The first examples of these were found from Inuit and Yupik cultures. The Portland Art Museum has a pair of
  • 53. Diagnosis Of An Informal Caregiver During the stages Alzheimer s in which the resident is in need of care, but that care is not too complex, it is most common to turn to an informal caregiver. According to the 2016 Alzheimer s Disease Facts and Figures (2016), In 2015, caregivers of people with Alzheimer s and other dementias provided an estimated 18.1 billion hours of informal (that is, unpaid) assistance, a contribution to the nation valued at $221.3 billion (p. 32). Informal caregivers are mainly daughters and spouses of the residents. Females make up the majority of familymember caretakers, but it is becoming more common for men to take on this role (Brodaty Donkin, 2009). Roughly a third of the caretakers in the United States are over the age of sixty five and the majority are married or are in long term relationships. It has also been found that around 23% of caretakers for residents with dementia also have their own children under age eighteen (Alzheimer s Association, 2016). This can increase the level of stress that the caregiverfaces, as he or she is being stretched in different directions. Informal caregivers take on the role of caring for the resident for a number of reasons. One of which includes the fact that they believe that they owe a debt of gratitude to their loved ones. Other reasons include a feeling that it is what they should do regardless of whether or not they want to or because they believe that it will provide them with a feeling of fulfillment. Those who choose to take on
  • 54. Statistics Essay Executive Summary Business Statistics In this assignment I compiled the data of the Nissan GT R 3.8 (R35). The Data collected includes the age, type and price which allowed me to make a statistic about how the age affects the price of this certain model over several years. I will be using the correlation regression and scatter diagram to get the regression line. As we can see, the price drops the elder the car is. Inside the range of the diagram the prediction might be accurate. So we can tell very precisely how much the car is going to cost in the next few years, but we won t be able to give a very precise prediction on how much the car is going to cost after a long term (more than 10 years). This project shows the readers to justify ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... X = 2.5 is within the range, which means that the estimation might be accurate as we are interpolating. * When age of the car (x) = 10 Years old, price of the car will be (y) = Y= CHF 41853. X=10 is outside the range, which mean that the estimation might be inaccurate as we are extrapolating. 8.0 Referencing 1. Francis, Andre, 2004 Business mathematics and Statistics
