Production Operator & 1996 to 1998
Throughout this time, have worked on various tasks across departments as part of a team
assembling and producing a range of components to ensure the quality output of the Velux
window. During this time, have worked to lean manufacturing outputs on quality, efficiency,
delivery, safety and cost; with experience of working within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
• Produce and assemble components for the production (at height) of 5,000 Velux windows
per week

2. • Set and operate a range of manufacturing machines , ensuring working order and undertake
total preventative maintenance (TPM)
• Carry out assembly change over, ensuring the correct components are in place for the run
• Undertake quality checks within defined areas to ensure high standards are maintained and
reporting on any issues on safety and cleanliness ‘go, look, see’
• Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to and personal protective equipment is
used appropriately
• Complete ongoing Lean Manufacturing training including safety excellence and 5S ‘sort, set
in order, shine, standardise, sustain’
Achievements;
• Dedicated member of the Scotland group that has become the Leader within the Velux
brand in maintaining key outputs on efficiency, quality, delivery and safety
• Achieved 100% success in working to tight deadlines, targets and maintaining a strong
operating health & safety record

Early Career Summary:
Period 1998 to 2000 & Pre 1996:
During this time, gained a range of work experience working predominantly within waste
management in various locations across Fife recycling centres. Developed a range of skills that
would remain important throughout work history including: team work, self-motivation, working to
timescales and strong customer service, dealing with the public.
