In the past, humans have built dwellings in areas identified as human settlements. The term "human settlement" refers to a group of people living together in a particular area. These communities frequently concentrate on vital facets of daily life, including economy, transportation, family life, communication, entertainment, and education. The goal of human settlements is to improve urban and rural poor communities and all people's living and working surroundings better in terms of social, economic, and environmental quality. This improvement ought to be founded on technological cooperation initiatives, collaborations between the public, corporate, and community sectors, and involvement of community organisations and special interest groups including women, indigenous people, the elderly, and the disabled in decision-making. Sustainability refers to achieving our goals without affecting the capacity of coming generations to achieve their goals. Environmentalism is only one aspect of sustainability. Most conceptions of sustainability also include considerations for economic growth and social equality. Accordingly, sustainability in the context of human settlements refers to those communities that can endure while effectively utilising resources, such as natural, financial, or human. This study aims (1) to explore the relationship of human settlement on Sustainable Development Goals’ indicator and (2) to explore the strategies to design sustainanble urban human settlement. All necessary information has been gathered via secondary data from sources like technical report, books and journals. Therefore, the qualitative method of content analysis has been utilised.

a. Adequate and affordable housing
- Goal 1: No poverty is linked to housing
- Agenda 21 discusses "promoting sustainable human settlements development" that consist of ensuring that everyone has access to adequate housing
- Goals for sustainable development include reducing poverty, preserving the environment, and promoting social fairness are impossible to achieve without suitable
housing .
b. Human and community well-being
- Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities is to ensure that cities and human settlements are safe, resilient and sustainable
- Housing inadequacy and affordability can have a negative impact on one's physical, emotional, and overall quality of life.
- Housing design, particularly physical structure, can have an impact on tenants' mental health and wellbeing to some level.
c. Environmental Infrastructure
- A key factor in determining whether cities and properties are sustainable is the presence of effective green infrastructure
- This infrastructure is essential for fostering environmental sustainability because it encourages resource saving, lowers pollution, and lessens the effects of climate
change.
d. Sustainable Land Use Planning
- "sustainable land use" refers to a combination of technological advancements, government initiatives, and practises that balance environmental concerns with
socioeconomic ones
- The land use planning mechanism, in particular through development plans and development control, is acknowledged as a tool in figuring out the current and
future needs for housing, formulating housing policies, allocating the amount of land, and identifying suitable locations for housing development

CONCLUSION
EXPLORING SUSTAINABLE URBAN HUMAN SETTLEMENT
Exploring sustainable urban human settlements involves examining and
developing strategies to create livable, inclusive, and environmentally
friendly cities. It encompasses various aspects, including urban
planning, architecture, transportation, resource management, social
equity, and community engagement.
Compact, mixed-use neighbourhoods that increase walkability, lessen
reliance on personal vehicles, and promote public transportation are
key components of sustainable urban development in urban planning
perspective. It entails creating parks, green areas, and community
amenities that improve the quality of life for residents.
Besides, affordable housing alternatives that cater to the various
demands of people are given top priority in sustainable urban
settlements. The creation of inclusive housing policy, encouragement of
eco-friendly and energy-efficient building techniques, and
consideration of social equality in housing distribution are some
examples of this. Sustainable urban settlements must include effective
public transport systems, pedestrian-friendly design, and secure bicycle
infrastructure
