This document discusses nonverbal communication. It suggests that as much as 93% of communication is nonverbal, with 55% coming from facial expressions and posture, and 38% from tone of voice. Nonverbal communication includes body language, posture, gestures, eye contact and spatial distances in interpersonal interactions. Spatial distances are categorized as intimate (0-18 inches), personal (18 inches - 4 feet), social (4 feet - 12 feet), and public (12 feet or more). Nonverbal cues play an important role in conveying feelings and interpreting social dynamics.
