Noise pollution is disturbing or excessive noise that harms humans and animals. Sounds over 85 decibels for more than 8 hours a day are too loud. Noise pollution is caused by transportation like airplanes, cars and trains, machinery, construction sites, speakers and more. The effects of noise pollution include lack of concentration, increased blood pressure, temporary hearing loss, crop failure, and harm to wildlife and marine life. Noise pollution can be reduced by decreasing noise levels, maintaining vehicles, controlling vibrations, speaking at a lower volume, and prohibiting loud sounds at night.
