TLT is a brief therapy that uses a timeline to change unwanted behaviors or emotions. It is a 13 step process that involves taking a personal history, setting up the intervention, discovering how the client organizes time, having them float above their timeline, noting any problem areas, eliciting the root cause before floating, releasing negative emotions or decisions by going back in time, preserving positive learnings, repeating the process back to the present, returning to the present, testing new behaviors, and future pacing. The goal is to eliminate negative emotions or limiting decisions by empowering positive emotions and empowering decisions from the client's history.
