This presentation outlines an in-service training workshop for high-school teachers of English as a Foreign Language, accredited by the Japanese ministry of education. The workshop focused on the use of authentic materials to motivate students and attempted to gauge the participants’ existing ideas about authenticity in language teaching and examine how these fit with the way English is currently employed for international communication in the global context. I proposed during the workshop that authenticity be reconceptualised as a continuum, incorporating contextual and social dimensions. Participants were then asked to reflect on their concept of authenticity before and after the workshop to examine the impact of the proposed continuum. Data were collected from participants in the form of a written reaction to the workshop and questionnaire, as well as teacher/researchers’ observations and journal entries.
Most of the data are qualitative, and the study design was based on exploratory practice, so data came from pedagogic sources from the workshop. The research attempted to involve all the participants in a way that encouraged them to reflect on their own practice. Although at times I present data in a way which quantifies the responses, the majority of data analysis was done in an interpretive way, coding the data as I went through it and then re-coding it as the bigger picture emerged. I used NVivo analysis software to create nodes and run word frequency queries as I worked through the data, which helped in selecting the major themes for the responses.
From a total of 33 participants, 23 (almost 70 per cent) had culturally embedded definitions of authenticity, with 18 participants (over 50 per cent) specifically making reference to native speakers. Participants commented that the workshop had helped them to expand their ideas about authenticity, which for many was a motivating or empowering experience.

Natural language processing (NLP) is the ability of a computer program to understand human language as it is spoken and written. NLP has applications such as chatbots, question answering systems, machine translation, and text summarization. NLP must address many types of ambiguity that exist in language, including syntactic ambiguity, semantic ambiguity, and ambiguity that exists between different levels of language representation. Modern NLP systems typically take a probabilistic approach to resolve ambiguity by making the most likely interpretation.
Clipflair: the use of captioning and revoicing for TCFL
Audiovisual materials have been used in foreign language teaching for a few years now and there is ample literature on the benefits of using such materials. At the same time, new technologies have entered the foreign language classroom in different forms, which help students acquire new competences and allow them to practice in a more autonomous way and in a more amusing environment.
In this paper we will present a new online pedagogical resource: Clipflair. This platform combines both audiovisual materials and new technologies in foreign language learning. It is designed to provide and develop educational materials for different levels and languages that have one trait in common: they all use clips and engage students in tasks of captioning or revoicing. Therefore, it goes one step forward in comparison with traditional activities involving audiovisual materials, where students use to practice more passive skills, mainly listening comprehension. Apart from passive skills, revoicing and captioning tasks put into play more productive ones, namely writing and speaking. In sum, this platform allows students to make different sorts of exercises to practice the four basic language skills as well as to focus on specific grammar and cultural issues.
Apart from presenting the platform and showing a couple of activities designed for Chinese language learners as an example, we will also analyze the first results obtained from the piloting stage of the project. These data prove that students find this tool very useful not just in terms of actual learning results but also in terms of motivation.

Natural language processing (NLP) is a subfield of artificial intelligence that studies how to process and understand human language, with the ultimate goal of enabling natural communication between humans and computers; it is an interdisciplinary field that draws from computer science, linguistics, psychology and other areas to allow computers to understand, generate and translate between different human languages. NLP techniques include morphology, lexicography, syntax, semantics and discourse analysis to analyze words, sentences and full conversations at different levels of meaning.
The importance of reading fluency

Natural language processing (NLP) is the ability of a computer program to understand human language as it is spoken and written. NLP has applications such as chatbots, question answering systems, machine translation, and text summarization. NLP must address many types of ambiguity that exist in language, including syntactic ambiguity, semantic ambiguity, and ambiguity that exists between different levels of language representation. Modern NLP systems typically take a probabilistic approach to resolve ambiguity by making the most likely interpretation.
Clipflair: the use of captioning and revoicing for TCFL
Audiovisual materials have been used in foreign language teaching for a few years now and there is ample literature on the benefits of using such materials. At the same time, new technologies have entered the foreign language classroom in different forms, which help students acquire new competences and allow them to practice in a more autonomous way and in a more amusing environment.
In this paper we will present a new online pedagogical resource: Clipflair. This platform combines both audiovisual materials and new technologies in foreign language learning. It is designed to provide and develop educational materials for different levels and languages that have one trait in common: they all use clips and engage students in tasks of captioning or revoicing. Therefore, it goes one step forward in comparison with traditional activities involving audiovisual materials, where students use to practice more passive skills, mainly listening comprehension. Apart from passive skills, revoicing and captioning tasks put into play more productive ones, namely writing and speaking. In sum, this platform allows students to make different sorts of exercises to practice the four basic language skills as well as to focus on specific grammar and cultural issues.
Apart from presenting the platform and showing a couple of activities designed for Chinese language learners as an example, we will also analyze the first results obtained from the piloting stage of the project. These data prove that students find this tool very useful not just in terms of actual learning results but also in terms of motivation.
CLIL + selections + brainwave 2013
Selections is a 6-level English anthology for young learners aged 7-12. Each level contains 12 units divided into fiction, non-fiction, poems, and practical texts. The anthology uses a communicative approach and integrates the four language skills. It encourages reading for pleasure while developing language skills. Each unit follows a 10-lesson structure incorporating various activities like songs, vocabulary practice, reading, phonics, and reviews. The program also includes a student's book, audio CDs, teacher's edition, resource CD, and picture packs to support teaching and learning.
Communicative method for college teachers presentation

How to Manage Reception Report in Odoo 17
A business may deal with both sales and purchases occasionally. They buy things from vendors and then sell them to their customers. Such dealings can be confusing at times. Because multiple clients may inquire about the same product at the same time, after purchasing those products, customers must be assigned to them. Odoo has a tool called Reception Report that can be used to complete this assignment. By enabling this, a reception report comes automatically after confirming a receipt, from which we can assign products to orders.
