NIT Goa follows the system wherein every interested third year
student is allotted a prospective company. His responsibility is to prepare a
report on the company after a background research, get in touch with their HR
professional, enlist contacts in the firm from within the Alumni network, analyze
placement requirements of the company.
Suggestion: T&P Coordinators of all departments must have functioning under
them a team of juniors from the IIIrd year.
 Subjects from PG course be extended as an Elective. Facilitate UG students to
take up short term projects with a PG student.
 Semester Exchange program within NITs and in association with other
Institutions of National Importance and International renown.

3. Education regarding patents and IPR.
SVNIT has taken a leap in this regard by introducing a part time VAC on IPR, but it
is recommended that the reach of the program be increased. Workshops and lectures on
the same topic be organized for the benefit of those who do not avail the VACs. Intensive
mentorship programs for students who have some innovation to their credit.
 SVNIT-360. A virtual tour of the campus to be hosted on the institute website. Currently
in place at BITS, Pilani and being pursued by NITK, Surathkal.
 Appointment of a Full Time Counselor on the Campus.
Constitution of a Grievance Redressal Committee comprising of equal members
nominated from the Students’ Council and Hostel Management Committee.
Bifurcation of Credits
e.g. If the total credits for two semesters are 180 they be bifurcated as follows;
130- Major Courses ( Engineering Discipline )
50- Minor Courses
Up gradation of Library Resources: Library and Reading Room be functional 24X7.
Extension of Book Bank facility beyond the SC/ST category to Economically Weaker
students of the general category.

4.  Focus on use of Renewable Energy on campus.
NIT Silchar has commissioned a Solar Power Plant of capacity 1 MW and Bio Gas plant.
Suggestion: A game plan be devised for the adoption of Renewable Energy on campus, in
what capacity and form. A timeframe be decided for the commissioning and operation.
 Permanent Facility on campus for Video Conferencing.

Silchar.

NIT Raipur runs a successful Mentorship programme for First Year students called
SAHYOG. As a part of this exercise, a senior student is randomly allotted a junior, this
senior acts as the mentor and quasi local guardian for the fresher. This benefits interaction
between students and also helps keep a check on ragging.

5.  Organize Open Fairs and Exhibitions with the following motive;

set up kiosks and scout for prospective candidates.
 According to a pact between NIT Jallandhar and IIT Bombay, students from
Mechanical can pursue their final year studies in IIT Bombay, strictly on merit.

 Energy audit of the entire campus once every three years.
 On the likes of NIT Conclave, a program be launched for Cultural Exchange.
 MANIT Bhopal will complete the Student Satellite project in 2015 in association
with ISRO.
On campus student activities include regular operation of MANIT Radio.
