• Spread: CU Jammu is holding awareness session and delivering lectures on
Innovation and IPR in the state of J&K
• Sense or Benchmark: CU Jammu is working on the solid and liquid waste
segregation from University Campus to generate wealth by selling compost,
eggshells, hairs and other plastic waste obtained from the waste segregated. This
generate employment along with efficient waste management
• Celebrate: The students of University visited to SLRM (Solid Liquid Resource
Management) in Jammu Province to learn and celebrate the innovations made in
the area of Solid Waste Management.
5. of vermi-composting where organic waste once converted to manure is being sold to farmers at
suitable rates, leading to reduction of consumption of inorganic fertilizers
In the present study an attempt has been made: a) To study and gather the information regarding the
waste segregation, management and wealth generation a-case study of a village of Bishnah district
Jammu province b) Knowledge and wisdom dissemination for the welfare of the society to meet the
unmet needs of the society. The present project is an attempt under the category of scientific-cum-
social innovation where technological advancement need to be tied up for the potential utilization of
waste to generate wealth
Unmanaged Resource (Waste) is being managed by Best Practice to Generate Wealth

7. Engaging students in mapping the societal challenges,
unmet technological and social needs and addressing
them
The University Innovation Cell (UIC) is offering a University-Wide Elective
Course on Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for wider exposure
of the students on the subject to meet the unmet technological and social needs.
The UIC is also going to start the Workshop Module course under PM-YUVA to
promote and inculcate the culture of Entrepreneurship among students
8. Connecting faculty and students with
grassroots innovators for inclusive development
Lecture Series: UIC started a lecture series for students
and faculty members in collaboration with UBIC. The
program would be coordinated by UIC at Bagla and
UBIC at TAB which aims at Connecting faculty and
students with grassroots innovators for inclusive
development.
•At present following students, faculty/Grass root innovators have
been identified and are registered for incubation/IP support during
last six months.

10. Creating the pool of open source high quality,
multi language content:
•UBIC as per its mandate has organised 01 IPR awareness programme for
students/research scholars’ /entrepreneurs/ faculty members sponsored by
MSME, GOI (2017).

07th -28th December, 2017 concluded at CUJ
To encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship among the students of Jammu, a
special initiative called “Jammu and Kashmir Future Talks” under the
leadership of Hon. MOS Priya Sethi with the collaboration of the VCs of
Central University of Jammu was initiated by Innovation, Incubation and
Entrepreneurship Council (IIEC), October 2017, CUJ
11. Recognising grassroots and institutional achievers
including inspired teachers in different social segments
Lecture Series: UIC started a lecture series for students and faculty members in
collaboration with UBIC. The program would be coordinated by UIC at Bagla and
UBIC at TAB which aims at Connecting faculty and students with grassroots
innovators for Recognising grassroots and institutional achievers including inspired
teachers through interaction and recording their innovative ideas to work for the
develoment of prototype.

12. Case study of a journey of any unmet social need identified
in the hinterland to the development of its solution:
1) Solid Liquid Resource Managment (SLRM) : Secondary
Segregation Centre, Located in Sehoura, Block Bishnah, Jammu
District. Centre Dedicated to manage waste generated from 300
houses
2) Smart 50: An Initiative of IIM Kolkatta & DST: Jan 2018
The idea of Dr. Pankaj Mehta figures in top 3000 startup choosen
in the country. His Business idea was Environment Friendly
Recyclable Duster (EFR) Duster.
