About ECE Department
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) in IIIT Nagpur en-
courage innovation. The department has undergraduate academic program and PhD
Visveswaraya Scheme. The curriculum is latest state-of-the-art that finds the applica-
tions in industries. The department is equipped with the state-of-the-art technolo-
gies and platforms along with high-end computational facilities. The infrastructure
and lab facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities
for students and researchers to learn and innovate. The department is favoured with
proficient Faculty, all holding Ph.D. degrees from renowned institutes across India

About QIP Program
The Government of India launched the Quality improvement Programme (QIP) in the
year 1970. One of the main objectives of the programme is to upgrade the expertise
and capabilities of the faculty members of the degree level institutions in the country.
The programme is now being implemented and monitored by All India Council for
Technical Education. In “Quality Improvement Programme” only sponsored teachers
are eligible for admission to both Master’s Doctoral Degree Programmes, with the
aim to enable the teachers to acquire Master’s Doctoral degrees and imbibe in them
a culture of research and better teaching educational capabilities by exposing them to
the environment of the institutes of study. IIIT Nagpur offers PhD program through
QIP scheme in following discipline:

Advanced Computing
Course Objectives
The proposed Course will train young engineer Ph.D. scholars by infusing scientific
approach and acquainting them with research tools and techniques. The specific ob-
jectives of the course are
To enable the participants, to define their research problems, develop an
approach to research problems and select suitable research design.
Do’s and Donts of Research
To sensitize participants on the ethical aspects of Reseach
To enable researchers in writing research reports, thesis, dissertation, research
papers, and scholarly articles.
To provide hands-on training on paper writing.
To provide hands-on training on Word Processing.
To provide hands-on training on AI/ML uses in Engineering Research.
To disseminate information on various research problems in ECE and CSE
domains.

Resource Person: Industry and academic experts from IITs, NITs and IIIT will be
the resource persons of the workshop.
About the Course
This course will open vistas of knowledge on the methodological basis of research
and strategies to cope with future challenges. The mission of the course is to impart
research skills to research scholars (M.Tech./Ph.D./PDF) and enhance the quality of
research. This course will contribute to the effective use of emerging technologies
and establish a firm foundation for the overall development of high quality research.
Eligibility
The workshop invites applications from eligible candidates all over India. The eligibil-
ity criteria are as follows;
Applicants enrolled for M.Tech./Ph.D./PDF in a UGC recognized university/deemed
university/AICTE approved colleges/institutes of national importance or Research
Institutes only can apply for the workshop. The Specialisation of the applicant in
M.Tech./Ph.D./PDF can be Engineering or interdisciplinary areas.
